- The Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home (Eth Athuru Sevana) is a facility within Udawalawe National Park in Sri Lanka that was established in 1995 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation to rehabilitate orphaned elephant calves for ultimate release back into the wild.
Visitors are allowed at The Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home (Eth Athuru Sevana) during their Elephant feeding times which are,

Baby elephants are incredibly adorable and adorable. Some of them are quite playful and curious, exploring their surroundings under the general observation of their mothers and the rest of their elephant herd. Seeing them interact with their environment can be a heartwarming experience.
I really enjoy and appreciate Sri Lanka is trying to feed their baby elephants with milk, and taking care elephants with limited resources. They can use internet to get adopted each baby from all over the world for better services.

It is to be a vast researched about the natural milk of a mamma elephant, so that we can make same kind of milk to provide to orphan baby elephant. In it orphaned baby will not deprive from normal growth, health and normal strength in their youth .

Are you joking? That place is a nightmare and should be reported to animal welfare!!!! Whoever heard of feeding a baby elephant with a hose? This is animal cruelty! The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant orphanages in many African countries are ran far better than this one, the ribs are showing on every baby here. They're Hungry & aren't given enough to eat in their growing years, although the Pinnawale Orphanage is by far the Worst. A huge Tourist trap, adults kept chained up, even walking to the river while chained. The babies in Africa each get to hold their own bottles with their trunks to drink comfortably at their own pace, less keepers needed to hold the milk. The elephant videos in Africa are a pleasure to watch, as the babies are treated with love, respect, no hitting w/sticks & no chains. They're WAY more successful in returning elephants to the wild in a humane & loving manner. Sri Lanka, India & (Thailand-most abusive) are the Worst in using elephants as Tourist attractions, constant elephant Riding & Temple festivals & other labour intensive activities. They say new laws are going into effect for ethical treatment, but are they? 😢😠

Notice how the other elephants in the background are frightened of the guy with the stick…..these men use these sticks like whips on the elephants - I only hope the men in this video get some sensitivity training and learn abuse isn’t necessary. Until they stop abusing these wonderful beings I’ll never watch another of their videos again.

I watched it too the man wasn't hitting the baby elegant. He was tapping the stick and his hands to have the baby walk. Thay is NOT "hitting" however I do agreed no need to be using the Sticks nor necessary. They will obey by their command just fine.
Please take your cues from Sheldrick wildlife reserves. They do not use ANY STICKS or CANES - JUST LOVE and it actually works better than this scenario. The workers clearly look like they are there receive their payment for their day job, not to care for the babies. The love, care and concern seem to completely absent 😟😢😬

This is a well established rehabilitation facility handled by experienced professionals where they have nurtured hundreds of orphan baby elephants & successfully released back to the wild over several decades.
You must be a world renowned elephant specialist to critizise such facility.
