Its tata selassie hidding his tears for me behind glasses, the way he touched his stomach! His emotions were all over the place. Anna we are cheering for u bambi. Love from belgium.
In the Netherlands and Germany the parents have to accompany the child for the first two weeks during the settling in period until they are familiar with the environment and teachers. The child cannot be left alone with strangers until they are familiar with them to avoid being traumatised 😢
All parents go through this, I remember when my son started pre school the first day, the teachers reassured me everything will be ok...I cried because it was the first time leaving him in that type of environment, while at work I couldn't concentrate because my mind was on my child. I was so happy when I collected him in the evening and everything was ok...😊 You will be ok mama....trust the process
Awwww Prince Selassie goes to school. It's ok to feel the way you do Anne. But he will be fine, like tata Selassie said "the other children in class were happy" meaning it's a good place. He will adapt, make friends, learn new things and everything will be just fine. Watching this video made me emotional too.
I was not going to cry but now when he ran after them I was inconsolable. I hope it goes well and we see him one week and then a month and a year. Well done people.
I can relate to this, I was in your shoes 35 years ago. My little son ran after me with his little arms extended upward - mommy mommy and my heart broke and I had to hold back the tears until I got out of his eyesight. I cried emotional tears like you for a short time. It is good though ❤️❤️❤️💯. When he was 17 he packed his treasured belongings and told me he was leaving our house to live in his own and it wasn't because he didn't love me, it was just time, and the right thing to do. I waited till he was out of eyesight and again I cried emotional tears for a short time. Now he is taking his son to school. And my mom who passed away 2020 used to say life is about ups and downs. 🙃☺️. God bless your family Anne.
I feel the excitement and anxiety you are going through Ann. We all go through the same experience. Me the 1st time i left my 1st son to school i cried all through and surprisingly he asked me why i cried..... its an experience all mothers should go through and at the end you both be happy when he returns to start telling you stories and you better the pupil and him the teacher. Congratulations Congratulations to this milestone Ann and your hubby. God bless the lito one, may he find favour in this new journey.
The separation anxiety doesn't end here. Unless the child has been in boarding school, many mothers here once again experience that 1st day of school situation when they leave home for college, even if they are now teenagers. When my son left for college, I cried each day at my desk at work for a week. I dont know why it was at work, but i guess at home it helped me going to his bedroom and calm myself a bit. Moreover, they dont call until you do.😮 The only difference is they dont cry when being dropped off, they are very excited about the new life and freedom kwegamba! But that doesn't stop moms to feel sad, okuzaala!! Virtual hugs from California to you Ann and Sky.
I couldn’t help myself even though am a grandma I was laughing and crying at the same time 😂when his dad responded to the director of the school and said “ One week of crying like this ? “ it broke my heart 😢. You can’t help but love them for ever ❤you two are wonderful parents looks like you are truly hands on in raising your young son. I wish you happy school days ahead it gets better for everyone the first time it’s difficult but just hang in there . Your son is destined for greatness keep up the good work ! Blessings .
The other day I was just discussing with my workmate, once you have a child your whole life changes...until that child is independent. So for the next 20-23 years you have to live for Selasie ❤😊❤. And that's the joy of parenthood.
My dear to a parent the child is never independent. Selassie will be all grown and you’ll look back and laugh at the memories of this day. Been there done that my girl.
It was a tough day for all of you. My son would cry from the entrance of KKA all the way to his class so many blocks away from the entrance. He cried everyday for the first month in school. We were forced to change him to a school that was teaching the Montessori curriculum where the number of pupils was very low. Surprisingly he never even cried on his first day in a new school. We found the rest of the pupils at Assembly and he joined them for morning devotion 😅
So good to see you..omg with a toddler too ready for school Kansiime. I’ve had some great laughs watching your videos, then I took a break from SM. Stay bless and congrats on this new chapter in your life with your beautiful family.
When I saw him chase the parents and then kansiime " It seems like we abandoned him " My heart really broke. I could not take it anymore. My case is far worse as compared to leaving a child at school. These are many yrs ago but this situation just pieced me in the scar
As a teacher that has handled such age group of kids, it's always very emotional for both child and the parents especially first time mothers. I remember we had a parent who would drop the child off to school at 9, step out of the school and stands at the gate till the kid keeps quiet. Pick up time was always 3pm but she comes at 1pm, sits in her vehicle till 3 OMG I know what yo going through but he'll definitely stop crying and adapt to the school environment after meeting other kids and of course receiving that love, care and attention from the care givers. Wishing him blessings in his new journey.
There's nothing that makes a mother much more happy like seeing her child, her bone starting school. The calmness in the house first day heeeeee all goes well because we're preparing the little all attention love fun .I know what it means for the parent though am not but you get the experience
First days are hard however they need it in life and so do we as parents because they have to discover their own identity. He will be great not just fine. He will flourish and bloom into a beautiful human being. Very proud of you mama and daddy! 👏 👏. Congratulations on this new amazing journey of parenting.
Oh my God, trust me i relate, leaving him crying was so so painful,.but then I had too as well, today I went to pick him oh my God, he run and hugged me, and I told him tommorrow we shall go back again to school. Painful as it is, he has to go to school. Atleast I got a breather when the teacher told me he stopped crying after I left but it has been something I had been practicing for almost 3 months, taking him to the grand and leaving him there.
@@mukelabaimuloziit shock me really how parents can put seatbelt on themselves but they don't mind their baby to be in child capsule in a back seat, if the father just press break fast unexpected that the end for that child

That’s abandonment right there, he will always remember it . I think we need to adapt different ideas from different systems. Where I live you can’t deliver a child to an institution the first few days in such a manner. A space of 4-5 days integration period for a child is given, where by a parent stays behind with the child as he gets used , get friends or connects with the teachers. The 1st days are so crucial that a parent can stay for 4-5 hours and then take the child home. Until he gets used. Every child is different how they cope. It was so sad to watch this. And this is not for mothers alone, the father can also take some integration days off, if impossible at least a relative or a house helper whom the child knows and is comfortable with.
One of the most difficult moments in parenting. To entrust your child with someone away from the childs familiar environment.Kindergaten, Boarding School ah,its hard but Selassie will be alright and soon he will be telling you teacher is right and you don't know anything 😂😂
I dont have kids, but taking them for injections (im scared of injections),first day of school are two things that scare me about being a parent. I wish you guys the best in this new step of your lives ❤🇿🇲
I think the best thing was to do a settling in session where you can both attend the school for a couple of hours then again. They can arrange another session where your son would have to attend for a few hours while you are within the school setting but not in the same class. By doing that, the child would have built more trust in setting and not feeling like being abandoned. The mother is right, and how the left him is too traumatising for a child who has never been left with a stranger before. Also, it can cause anxiety.
For kids, it really does looks like a hospital, i still remember my first in Nursery school way back in the day, i was about 5 years old or so and convinced it was hospital, i cried for the life of me, the entire session of admission. it took me a week to realize it was not a hospital.
😂😂😂😂😂 I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing at the fact that it looked like a hospital. Did you spend so much time in hospitals as a child? Maybe it's the way it's organized, the tables, the lady at the reception.
@@Flourish_today 🤣🤣Yes, i was quite sickly as a child and i think that's why. Also the whole reception setup was quite similar to me, my dad taking me and carrying while he talked to the headmistress was all too familiar with what happened with hospitals/clinics for me too. The poor woman tried to hold my hand, but the way i screamed and kicked? my poor dad, i must have embarrassed the life out of him now that i think about it. its still the only clearest memory i have period in my life, it must have traumatized me too much.
Awww I really feel you Ann, you will get used with time. I thought it only happens to me, I got very lonely when i left my son in boarding school. I regretted why I took him to boarding . Its been one year but every time its beginning of term its hits me back.
