Scratch-built RC Tug Boat from Pink Foam

How I build from scratch this 23" RC Tug Boat using a construction material called "pink foam" from Home Depot. Easy to build and fun to run on calm waters.

who would have tought of making a boat out of isolation foam. it sails very well. even the building is easy to do. and yes it wont sink and its well isolated. good job.

Just a question, what motor did you use, I’m curious about the electronics part of the boat

When I started building this RC boat back in 2021, I used electronics from a toy-grade RC car that I wasn’t using anymore. The motor is a GoolRC 2435-4500KV brushless motor paired with a 25A ESC that is capable of both forward and reverse functions. The receiver is a Spektrum AR620 from my RC plane, and the battery is a 3S 850 mAh LiPo.
Not the best set-up for an rc tug boat, but it was an experimental one for me.
