Badass. Barely starting on the fire service. I was on the hose for. About 20 mins at a structure fire and I didn’t know about good positions. Just got done with fire academy and barely got a job here in california

Excellent video thanks for the tips. I'll definitely try to use 3 to 4 of those and drill on them.

Shouldn’t be flowing while holding the bale could cause accidental shut down and may cause you to loose progress on a good knock down, the handling techniques are great tho!

@@robertgray1401 bale to body, if you loose control the hose will shut itself of when it makes contact with your torso. No need to keep your hand on it.

Thanks for your question. 1-1/2" shown in this video. Depending on deployment, we utilize the 1-3/4" more often than not these days.

Are your uniforms and gloves water proof ??

Bunker gear is made of nomex with a vapor barrier. It is designed to protect the firefighter from the excessive heat and steam from fighting a fire. The gloves are leather with the same kind of barrier to keep you from getting burned. The helmet is made of polycarbonate with a Nomex liner or, some firefighters actually use leather helmets with a nomex liner. So, you see, it is hardly a "uniform" but a protective suit for firefighting.

The answer is no. They're water resistant to a point, but if you're fighting a fire for a significant amount of time, you're gonna get soaked. You're also sweating on the inside, plus the water on the outside, so I've had mine completely soaked through on fires before, and it gets even heavier than it is dry. You can also get steam burns from that moisture if you're not careful.
