I was looking for a way to control the out of control pumpkin plant that went crazy while I was away. I liked your video the best and did the sticks for training, as well as pruning to keep only the main branch. Before that I was only getting male flowers but today, I saw 4 female flowers on my plants, even though both of them are even 10ft long yet. I'm so happy. Thanks for the tips. I'm gonna try to train them vertical too. :D

I used to train my butternut squash up a fence, I never heard about rooting them at the nodes (they went all around the plot and gave a fantastic unblemished harvest), but feeding it was a royal pain. This is a good tip to let them root along the way, and I like the way you pinned them down with the crossed twigs. There’s much to consider here. Thank you!

Great tips! My squash are starting to get a bit adventurous so this was great. I actually do have a giant bumkin but my boyfriend doesn’t mind 🤣🤣 it is also home grown
those are great tips Steve, I'm growing squash for the first time this year but the problem is the labels have faded so I've no idea which is which and when to harvest.
I love my pumpkins always have them ready for my delicious spicy Chunky pumpkin & tomato stew every Halloween and bonfire night. Mind you every year the local kids nick some of them to make jack lanterns.
New subscriber from canada i live in zone 3. Your video is what i needed to see to know how to control my pumpkin. I find some of the pumpkins even when fist size will turn yellow and fall off the vine. What would cause that to happen. Thank you very much for the tips. Much blessings
I find that if the fruit rots it’s usually because it didn’t get pollinated. As you know the flower doesn’t last long, you can help pollination by taking a male flower and rubbing the centre parts (anthers on the male and stigma on the female) together. I also tend to remove the flower when the fruit starts developing. Hope that helps.
Love your videos but is there any chance to have some happier music? The past couple the music has been a bit sad and I watch your videos for motivation to do my own! All for the music on the videos but just would like some happier music if possible please :)

do you pickle any of your beetroot? If so, any recipes? I tried last year but the vinegar taste was overpowering.

When fruit forms, do you leave the dead flower on or remove? I tried growing in a poly tunnel but the fruits rotted - why?
