That part at 4:15 is beautiful. This whole stage looks like all (or a good amount) of the dirty tricks from past SRTs joined into one file of pure hell.

Song That Might Play when you fight Sans took 30 minutes to make, and is mostly a bunch of RNG bullshit where I didn't care if it came out possible or not. This, I spent like 18 months making and refining and fine tuning.
There's more to a file than it being hard. You could have a super hard file, but it could be no fun whatsoever to play. I'm assuming its about finding the balance between making a file that's difficult, while also having it so it's still fun for the players to react to. I'm just a novice on rhythm games tbh, but that's what I think.
I like the thematic progression of the song. You fight the disease that causes minor symptoms (shown by minor changes, such as bobbing, intimidating multiplication, and simple switching), then move on to the moderate symptoms, shown by the double red line, adding mines, and the invisible rhythmic pattern, then move on to the insane shit shown by the screen blocking, freezeframing, and the rotating centralisation. Really cool shit.

I play both pad and keyboard actively, and well... my hope is that some day, somewhere in the potentially distant future, we can have content creators going over to the keyboard side and actually making things that are innovative and incredible like this. To me, *this* is where it's at -- this kinda of gameplay far transcends anything that keyboard players have and currently will ever make, and well, while pad play has experienced other cool manipulations of play, they've certainly never experienced it to this extent. Your work helps exemplify what can truly be done besides mindless keysmashing/pad stomping, and I think that's great. This stage was absolutely amazing from start to end, and the progression in difficulty is just perfect.
I totally agree with you on this. I always wanted to really experience this type of gameplay within the keyboard world. Also, props to you Taro, this was outstanding and I couldn't get enough of it.

please close the game, and open Data/StepMania.ini From there, making sure the game is closed, change VideoRenderers=d3d to VideoRenderers=opengl Then you should be able to play the file without issue.

Oh yeah, I had another question in mind. I've noticed that for this stage, it's actually in 16:9 instead of the usual 4:3. How do you make it like that? I've tried editing things in openitg (in the themes a.k.a metrics.ini and also other directory folders) except it never turned out how you see it in the video. Everything was fullscreen in 16:9 except everything was so small, it was also centered, so you saw the borders of the themes as well. I tried looking for GrooveNights V2 but that's probably long gone deleted or lost somewhere (V1 is out there but I don't think that works with widescreen).
Afaik, this was a bug that caused this to happen, you can notice at points that the playfields seem stretched more than they should be (more noticeable on the intro)
I wasn't even trying to read it. I knew it was hopeless. I'd like to be able to read stuff like this, but that's moot because I couldn't do the songs unmodded anyway. That would be like saying 'OK, I understand basic algebra, time to move on to rocket science.' (Actually I think rocket science would be easier than this)
if you can't do the song unmodded then it's actually a that that needs to be addressed first. Play songs until you can pass up to 10/11 difficulty, then you will be ready for the mods of this!

UKSRT8 is the only one that's used a custom "NOT ITG" program to run - It started out as my custom editor for mods courses (for use in normal ITG) but I started experimenting and adding NEW mods and features, and this tournament was the perfect opportunity to show it off.
Damn, that sounds pretty cool. Do you ever plan to release it, or no? I'd be pretty interested to fuck around with the new mods if I can figure them out (the uksrt7.3 code is a maze (sorry lel), but I've had fun messing about with it).
