Stephen R. Donaldson. I read Chronicles 1 & 2 way back in the 1980s. And I Loved it ! And can you believe that I found all 6 books hardcover at my local thrift store earlier this year. I just finished reading Lord Fouls Bane and for some reason I struggled with it? I didn't enjoy it as I remember reading the first time. I doubt that I read the rest of the series. Thanks for sharing -James
We're nosy. I mean, it's like perusing a bookstore or library. But it's a privately owned library. =) but isn't it helping clean your shelves and organize the books? The Cricket on the Hearth? I wonder if I have that story in the collected short story book I have of Dickens. See, this is why we're nosy. I mean, why we like seeing other people's books. Some of those nonfiction books sound interesting.
Seems Golden Sunlands has complaints that there is no ending, that it had to have a sequel that never happened. A very Jabba's sail barge cover. You are the second person who has talked of this book this week. Donaldson also has a short story collection called Reave The Just and Other Tales which is quite good.
Gavin- I was trying to learn a bit more about the ban that you mention 15:34 _The Puppet Master_ Do you know anything about it, at all? I’m just curious, I do know that Heinlein authored _The Puppet Masters_ [1951] It almost makes more sense for his work to be banned more than Dalmas’. Thoughts? Your shelf tour(s) are packed with excellent treasures. I know you must be proud of your collection, thus far! :)
The older SF covers are really so wonderful. First edition of a Gertrude Stein! WOW!
Yep, the Stein’s nice. If I can keep the DJ intact…
Really love these shelf tours. The covers on many of your books are just wonderful. You have a fabulous book collection 😊
Thanks Debs
Some great books and great covers there. Best wishes Gavin.
Cheers!

Those hardbacks are a find! I hope when I come to read the whole thing I still enjoy him as much as I did, but it was a looong while back!

Well I’m happy for anyone to have a nose about! Thanks!

Oh dear, wonder if it was never written or never published..
I need to get back into the Donaldson.
@@GenreBooks23 How far did you get in Thomas Covenant? Did the library have more than just the first book?
@@Montie-Adkins I read the first. I now own the first 6, ready for a spare month!

Ah, my pronunciation. “Baen” fantasy, as in from Baen Books!
@@GenreBooks23 Oh! My Gawd.. **face palm** Gavin 😆 My apologizes. My bad! (No wonder I was so confused.)
@@DianeSLoftis they’ll probably still ban it in Utah, just to be on the safe side…
