I almost bought that model but stepped up to the 58. No 120v but has purge mode trigger lock and expanded metal mode. Im very happy with it and was considerably less than the 60. That was still some impressive action for a 40amp machine. Thanks for showing.🙂

I have the older(4yrs old) Cutmaster 40 and I found it maxes out for clean cuts around 5/8" Ive done some 3/4" Hardox with it and the cut starts to wander a little. They may have changed that in the new model with the digital readout though. No complaints about it at all.

Weld.com has done a review on the lightning 275, the MTS 252 STI is the same welder except for the digital screen they are both 250 amp welder's and the 252 STI is cheeper, I thought about buying the 275 until I found out it was only a 250 amp mechine why pay a lot more for a digital screen, check them both out, at Everlast welders .com

Hypertherm is same price as this one, plus it is designed and made in USA. TD's only advantage over the Hypertherm was their cutmaster 42 could be bought for $900. Since TD seems to be discontinuing that model for this $1400 model, TD no longer has the competitive advantage for a budget plasma cutter.

Hypertherm makes great machines I work in a ship yard and all of the plasma tables have hypertherm plasma cutters and they cut up to 4 inch plate at times all day and night non stop 24/7 for the last 10 years without issues.we leave the hand torch hypertherms outside in the weather all year plugged in and in use 24/7 also without issues they really are worth the money

    Hey guys!
Just wanted to see if anyone else also feel it’s heavier to breathe after a day of welding.
I am currently going to a weldschool where we work in smaller stalls but they are equipped with great ventilation fans and I am always very aware of placing the mouth of the fan just above where I am working. I don’t think I’m making this up because I can also feel a very slight achy feeling in the lungs.
This usually occurs after two straight days of welding.
Maybe someone has any input on this matter, I will definitely try a face mask but these are ofcourse a bit hard to come by these days.. 😄
    Thanks!

Always a good idea to stop particulate matter from getting into your lungs. Something that you can breathe through and won’t flash on fire. Gasses are hell on lungs but particulates can accumulate over time.

Why would anyone want one when you cannot even drag it and have to be careful not to make contact with the metal? Why would you like it unless you are just trying to sell them? A little biased. Hypertherm have been and are far superior. I listen to videos like this when I was buying our first plasma cutters and we bought several until we found Hypertherm. Unfortunately, the videos were similar to this video where you really do not give great information aside from the thickness it cuts. So now I see this video and it is a sad reminder of the state we were tricked. Perhaps is it my expectations of weld.com and hold you guys to a higher standard.
