Hi, great question! I do not recommend using this in place of the factory chrome trim because the kit is cut to the size of the chrome trim - so to fit over top of the trim. Since the trim is no longer there, you would more than likely have a little extra vinyl along the edges that would need to be either trimmed off or tucked into a seam if that makes sense. If you have any other questions, please let us know!
I had to replace the back window. Trim and now need to reseal it. I only need the trim on the back window. Do you have just that piece available or do I have to buy the entire trim kit?
We highly recommend to take your time and not rush the application. On average I estimate that it takes around 90 minutes or so to apply all 7 pieces if you haven’t done something like this before. If at all possible, apply the decals in the shade or in a garage as direct sunlight will make the adhesive extra tacky and soften the vinyl, which can make the application take longer and more difficult to get the expected results.
Hi! Yes, you will receive an application kit that includes the application card and vinyl tucking tool. If you would want to purchase the towel and cleaning spray used in the video this is available as an add on. Not a dumb question! Yes, you can still use a pressure washer, however, you must not use excessive pressure or direct the water stream at a steep angle toward the edge of the vinyl. The vinyl used is rated by the manufacturer for touchless car washes once the adhesive has cured (within 24-48 hours after application). We also provide all of the application tools that you need to ensure you get the best application possible.
I wouldn’t recommend window tint for this because window tint is typically applied with a soapy solution and cures over several days. Where this is on the trim around the doors, I would be concerned it would begin to peel off before it was fully cured. If you are wanting a black chrome/nightfall chrome look, we do offer a black chrome vinyl that would give this effect. Actually, it's not chrome. It's polished stainless. In the old days, if you bought a lower trim car, the window surrounds were all black. When you spent more money, you got the stainless surrounds! You did a nice job here but you never stood back, so we could get a good look at it. WHY??

haha thanks! We try to make it as easy as possible to black out the chrome with our kits! The biggest thing is to just take your time and not rush it. We provide all of the tools necessary for application except a heat source such as a hair dryer or heat gun to help get the vinyl to bond faster.
How about a picture of the final look

If the chrome trim has peeled off, can this fit in place of the chrome trim?

Roughly how long does it take to apply the kit?

Probably a dumb question but can you pressure wash your car still ?

Could you do that with window tint? Or would it not stick?
