- Team BRB embark on some serious pack training, as they strive to get fitter before heading to wapiti country in March. They have been lucky enough to win a Fiordland Wapiti ballot. Jonty & Sam pack raft out some Manson country Sika venison down the mighty Ngaruroro from Kiwi mouth
Wild conditions! Well done getting some meat in that. Great adventures! Good watching thanks.
@thegrundinis4199 Thanks mate, we have been enjoying traveling tiny too! Might see you in the South island in March/April on our travels!
An awesome video for an epic family trip. Great to meet you out there and missing it already!
@ReviloNZwalks Very cool to meet you to mate, would have been interesting to have been half way into that trip and got the snow we just had in the local ranges
Luv the clips spattered through vid and crossovers between the different parties. Great edit team.
@OptimusLuce911 Thank you, really love your feedback! Happy new year 🎉
Great vid. Thanks for uploading. Dont you love the feel of those wheels underneath after such a walk. Like a magic carpet. 😊

Cool video mate. Managed my first sika last week, such cool animals!
@nickmulligan185 Well done Nick!! You should be hooked for life now!
Great stuff team, was a great watch!
@@antsbantsb8430 Thanks Ants, happy new year 🎉
Awesome vid mate, good to see that Manson country again. Re summer weight sleeping bags, i bought a One Planet Nitrous -3 packs down very small at 600gr. Very happy with it , used mine right through the roar no worries.
@ianbell6604 Awesome thanks mate, I'll look into One Planet, 600g sounds good to me
@@BackridgeButcher I can vouch for that as well - I bought one and its bloody magic.
Awesome video mate, great start to the new year
@RhysFransen cheers mate, hope you have a great New Year, too
Great watch mate and a solid effort!
@karlrowley6611 cheers mate, we are well overdue for a catch up
@@BackridgeButchersure are mate we had better get on to that
Decent walk in the Park.
Hope ya Fiordland trip goes well. At least you'll have little red calling in the Waps for you.
Thanks for the vid.
Happy new year. 👍👍
@nakisteelo4761 Will be bloody magic if she can call one in! Happy new year mate
Happy New Year. Thanks for the video. I love how you call it a Pack Training Video and you just go hunting. That's the best form of training for hunting, actual hunting. You are going to be so ready for Fiordland - well as best as you can be. People may not realist how tough some of the hikoi's you do are. That first slog up to Cameron is tough in its own right. Thanks so much for filming this. Have an awesome year ahead
Glenn, have a look at a quilt. My Enlightened Equipment summer quilt is 500g (zero c), my winter is 650g (-6c). Unzips to blanket, ideal for "hoggy dog" syndrome.
@snoop2477 Thanks mate, probably the reality for us is, no matter how much training we do, Fiordland is going to be bloody tough! Super excited though and can wait to head south! Happy new year 🎉
Great place to start the new season with you BRB, time to hunt.
Cheers mate, hopefully we can make it a good one!
great mission leading up to Fiordland.
Cheers mate, we're pretty excited for Fiordland.
Awesome Video mate. Happy New year
Cheers mate, Happy New Year to you too!
Great trip and vid as always Glen! Does you 20kg pack include your rifle and water? I just tried to do 7 days and was at 30kgs, with those two items and some dog food, i failed in my mission! Too heavy need some more training!😂
Hi mate, no, rifle is separate, but yes it will include my water. 30kg is seriously getting up there. Best to look at what you dont need and dump 10kg of gear. I couldn't find my light weight tent fly, could have saved 400g with the big one I ended up carrying
Happy new year mate! Awesome video and happy hunting 😊
@rickygregory1881 Thanks mate, and same to you
stoney creek black stag 500\800 good size for hunters
Thanks for that, I'll look them up, they generally make good gear
Hi, enable the automatic dubbing feature on UA-cam. This way the video can have a greater reach.
Thanks, I'll look into it, I didn't realize this feature existed. Happy new year
