What really sells people on this bit is how convincing Jack MacBrayer is at portraying the naive victim. I honestly wasn’t sure it was a bit for a while.
Yes, he sold it so hard!
"You're a weird guy, Kenneth"
"See you tomorrow, Mr.O'Brian!"
for those of you who don't know, this is a bit that conan and jack do with each other on a regular basis.
really? Because.... this was brutal
it's harsh but they're both in on it
How do you know?
Are you covering for Conan's bullying? :( ;)
How can jack hold his own lol conan destroyed him here
Here after the Conan's podcast with Tina Fey. LOL "cruelly forced Mcbrayer to dance"
goldwincs the reviewer that said Conan made jack dance beyond his will hahaha
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Jack McBrayer sells this so well.
It legit delights me that apparently some people who saw this scene thought Conan was just bullying Jack, and didn't know this is just a bit they do (endlessly lol). He was employed by the show, of course Conan likes him!
Conan recently said that he tried to bite Jack mcbrayer just before recording his podcast and Jack said “Quit biting at me sir!”
I love the subtle "stop it" while Conan is playing guitar. Too funny.
Jack is a really good actor, I genuinely felt bad for him at 1:03 but remembered he’s obviously playing along
A cardboard suitcase? That is a box!
Sir.
Sir.
That bus.
oh my god Jack literally is a cartoon character. :D
also, guys, Conan and Jack are good buddies, they joke around like this all the time.
90geekgirl06 Wander Over Yonder it's a great show.
Brian Posehn (I THINK) once said to jack "you're like a child's drawing of an adult "
"He's CHANGED!"
It's not only insulting to everyone else in the room, but *very* insulting to McBrayer that people believe Conan has some kind of supernatural hold on him, lol
Well guess again. Hill people milk or banjo strumming. The cold grip takes these Appalachian folks and never lets go. Jack would dance until he died or the music stopped.
But he’d thirst for more, nevertheless
Conan admitted on his podcast that he also texts Jack and they do the same thing. Conan said “and we are doing it for no one!”
" I can't help it "....😂
Christ, guys. He said, "Jim Nabors." The guy who played Gomer Pyle.
I'll believe what I want to believe I thank you.
@@pe4153 sure but you’re still wrong if you think he said a racial slur and I’m black. I’m also from the south and I know that Jim Nabors played Gomer Pyle a very exaggerated southern character from small town NC on The Andy Griffith Show. And in this video they’re poking fun at a very southern man. Context is everything.
The captions said two neighbors.
1:45 Somebody hears Dueling Banjos and peaks their head around the corner to see McBrayer dancing to it and thinks, "This can't actually be happening."
For those of you who thinks Jon Hamm is racist, he's saying "Jim Nabors," who played Gomer Pyle.
How is “gym neighbors” racist?
@@justincoleman3805 haha I think people thought he said the N word
I don't know how he manages to say it like that, but I had to rewind to that several times and up until now, I did not know what he said.
@@Aivottaja same same his chin was resting on his woman’s shoulder, maybe that tripped him up
"Get him, Jon Hamm!"
*proceeds to hug him.
Jack McBrayer- "best friends!"
I came from the podcast and OMG it’s so true his face is selling it so well!
Absolutely wanted to see this after hearing the interview.
My poor baby Jack! D:
Fuck yu
...
Sona's there making sure that Conan doesn't tease Jack too much.
conan is mad musically talented
He’s such a good actor
This is not a bit.. this is how conan and jack interaction goes as said by conan himself
Pure gold ❤
I've always loved Conan but after watching him continuously put down one of the sweetest guys in all of comedy I came to a realization, if I met Conan O'Brien in real life we would instantaneously become bestfriends lol
I'm not going to lie, when Jack started dancing I fell on the floor literally.😂
"What a rube" :37
1:17
“These will save my throat… Do you have any cocaine?”
Lol
Like watching a mean leprechaun kick a puppy. 😥
it's a long running bit mate. they're good pals. take it easy
Masters!
Conan said on his podcast that Jack is one of his favorite people because his bits are endless with him around.
That dance is fire!!!
Conan has this amazing ability to ridicule people but somehow make the jokes not about them (as in not true put downs) but actually self depreciating humor about how much of an asshole he (Conan) is. Like he doesn't do it in an arrogant way and the audience ends up rooting for Jack.
He's playing half of Dueling Banjos.
The piano chops surprised me.
lol. all those butthurt people in the comments don't know how a good friends in real life actually poke fun at each other😂
“Get ‘em John Hamm!”
The exhausted way he pushes Conan’s hands off of him😂
My favorite was Conan telling Jack’s coming to town with his cardboard suitcase and Jack exclaiming “cardboard suitcase?! Sir that is a box!”
It's obviously a joke you can tell by how over zealous conan is being
Came here looking specifically for this after the smartless podcast lol
Jack is Conan’s muse I think 😂
Jack for the win with the dance!!!
The thing that really sells it for me that this is a bit between the two of them, is not only Jack's dancing, but the over exaggerated arm grabbing at 1:20.
conan is rowdy as fuck lol
Like momma always said, mind your manners, and always yeehaw your best friends 🤠
Ok. I have never seen this before but I’ve heard Conan reference this. You were mean 😂😂
Bearded Conan had a whole different energy
Big Beard Energy
Oh my god that’s the funniest moment in the documentary. I love how close they are and Conan is just so excited to see him, he becomes hot fire and can’t help himself. They have a sibling rivalry cause they were so close.
1:38 "STOP IT"
Came to find this after the Smartless Podcast. Anyone else?
IT IS A JOKE
1:28 if you can’t tell they are just joking with each other by here your softer then 20 ply toilet paper.
No touching. No touching!
Jack deserves it for what he said to Chris Gethard.
1:32
Jack: *dances like that*
Me: WHERE, WHEN, WHY, HOW, *WHAT!?!*
That’s not how you spell O’Brien.
Poor Jack xD
but that would be dumb
Gee gorsh! Wuts an e-moyal??
Ways you can tell it’s a bit:
1. Jack is laughing or fighting back laughter at key moments
2. Conan makes reference to “working hard” implying that he’s doing a bit or a character
3. The people in the room, people who presumably know Jack and conan are all laughing pretty genuinely and don’t seem uncomfortable. If this was actual bullying you’d see people be more actively uncomfortable.
4. Why would Jack continually work with a man who genuinely treated him like this? Why would Conan allow displays of genuine cruelty to be displayed. He presumably had input on this.
5. As Jack McBrayer is a human man and not a Looney Tune, I don’t think he’s actually being compelled to clog against his will
What is the name of the song he play's in the 1:29 ?
7 years later....still waiting for someone to reply
@@thunderingeagle It's all over the comments. It's Dueling Banjos
This is so funny, I feel bad for him because I'm a big fan of Jack but it's all just fun and games. This was really funny (:
JMB might be the greatest straight man in comedic history. (Insert joke here).
1:12 the hell he saying?!
Can’t believe I had to scroll so far for this comment! I was sure that’s what he was saying too, but he’s saying, “two neighbors.”
He's saying Jim Nabors.
Aww, poor Jack :(
Jesus Christ everyone it's fake and was supposed to be funny but you guys are way to sensitive, and Jack is one awesome dancer btw
what's the song conan plays on the guitar?
Dueling Banjos.
Holy shit conan is scary savage here he's toughhh
Conan abusing Jack is one of the funniest things I've ever watched, there should be a channel of these alone.
Forget about authenticity, this is Conan unhinged. This is Harvard level shit deemed too beyond for network tv
poor jack
Aww you're poor brain... Life must be difficult for you.
Jack plays the victim too well
Was the blond Jack's wife..?
I really don't think this is a bit dear bots
Why on earth would bots be commenting under a Conan clip saying that it was just a bit???
It's clearly a running joke and you must literally know nothing about Conan if you think otherwise.
what happened to jack?
They should've ended this with Jack just launching a fist at Conan's giant melon.
.....it was two neighbors.....
Don't you be mean to my jack
No.
I'm pretty sure this part was staged, or at least Jack McBrayer's part was.
It’s not staged. It’s improvised.
Is conan on cocaine
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU CONAN!
ha ha ha but isn't jack funny when he does the arm grab thing and the dance
they might be buddies and joke like that a lot but Jack McBrayer looked pretty serious a few times.
Acting!
Brilliant!
I smell wet hay
Jack McBrayer is what you would call an actor. He pretends for a living. An entertainer.
That's called selling it and that's what actors do
What the fuck did Jon Hamm say?
END BULLYING TODAY
what did Jon say at 1:14 ? it sounds like a racial slur
Alexander Neumann Jim Nabors.
That was not nice, I like Jack McBrayer!!
🙄
ha ha ha but isn't jack funny when he does the arm grab thing and the dance
I didn't realize until I started watching these UA-cam videos exactly how abusive Conan is to his staff.
It's....it's just an act.
"mean conan is fun conan" - Conaco staff while being pointed at by armed men with rifles
Those thinking is an act, it is partly an act. He is passive/aggressive which is sort of bad in real life, but the comedians work their way out.
Their feelings and replies aren't fake. Conan is a bully !
He will be sued by staff and ex wife,6yrs from now.
@@no-ee yeah you can definitely tell from this doc hes a very manic guy in real life
What the heck is wrong with John Hamm!!!!? "Two Nigrahs. "
He's saying Jim Nabors, you ass.
smoresmixyum that was also a joke, you ass
James Makai 🤦♂️
That's totally not what he said! He said "Jew Niggaz"
@@jeremyc9593 or Jim Nabors the man who played Gomer Pyle and The Andy Griffith show?! 🤷🏻♀️
They've definitely had to do damage limitation, and pretend Jack McBrayer was in on the joke, because this clip won't go away. For context, at this point Conan was burning out while on tour and earlier in the documentary he mentions making other people bear the brunt of his stress.
I love Conan, but this old clip was a low moment.
There's no way to know how much he was in on it and whether it still kind of hurts to be treated like that even as a joke. Obviously Jack isn't some rube and understands how comedy works so I could see it just being a bit too.
EDIT: Here's what the documentarian said:
"After he saw the first cut of the movie he said, “I feel like an alcoholic who now has to go apologize to people.” But everyone around him is in on the joke. Everyone around him knows that’s who he is and knows that’s part of his process and knows that he plays the role of the worst, most abusive boss ever. This is a gag. No one in their right mind would say the kinds of things he says to Jack McBrayer. But I hope it’s evident that as soon as he starts playing ‘Dueling Banjos’ and Jack starts doing a jig that Jack McBrayer is in on the joke."
You're a tremendous idiot if you think this was real.
yeah i'm sure the part at 1:35 where he starts to dance unwillingly to dueling banjos is totally real, very abusive
There is a podcast of Conan with will Arnette, Jason Bateman and Hayes where he talks about this continuous bit he does with jack ..I came here looking for some clips honestly. They are good friends.
It's a joke obviously...but it's a mean joke. Jack looks sweaty and nervous.
