Well, you did it. I pulled the bed of the truck, cleaned up the underside of the truck while there, ran new brake-lines and checked for frayed wires. Pullin the bed is not that hard....I believe there were 8 bolts four per side and unplug the wire block, and unscrew the fuel hose from the bed...and the tiny ground wire....that's it....get a good look at the trailer hitch too. I even got a quart of rustolem and cleaned up the frame some and painted it up. Still driving this truck and that was 10 years ago. Lastly the pump motors particularly off ebay can be junk....changing out a failed fuel pump in 30k miles is not fun....so be sure to get a quality pump before going to all the work to do this. Lots of bad parts off ebay....don't ask my how I know that....
Thanks for the reply!! Yeah I ordered the fuel pump assembly from eBay and the actual Walbro pump from Amazon. The pump “supposedly” came from a Walbro dealer. It looks legit. We will see. Thanks for the comments!!
Good day from Ontario. Just come across this. I'm not into racing, just driving pkup A few yrs. ago had 2003 4.3 & fuel pump went at 153,000 klms. not ever 100,000 miles I did not know u can just replace pump alone. It cost 249. cdn, can all pump be replaced alone without changing whole unit. Interesting video. Thanks
Yes. You can just replace the fuel pump without replacing the entire assembly. The Boch part number for just the fuel pump for a 4.3 is Boch 684. That was the fuel pump that was in my 4.3. I hope this helps you out. Thanks for watching!!
