    Which slip yoke are you using? Part# would help a lot

    • @dtperformance256
      @dtperformance256 3 дні тому

      @XavierLewis-t8e I am using the counterbored Sonnax. So if you have the o-ring on your output shaft this one will slide over the o-ring groove. Even if you are not using the o-ring unless you have a straight non-oringed output shaft you will need the counterbored version. They make a non- counterbored yoke but make sure of what you have. Here is the part number to the counterbored yoke I used. Sonnax Slip Yoke T3-3-2431CBHP. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

    In your earlier video,... Sonnax case saver install TH 400..you mention the location for the .intermediate snap ring with the opening facing the twelve o'clock and here you mention three o'clock....my notes recommend "on two lugs with the gap between" ...at 2:00........not trying to bash.....just adding what I learned...I really needed a video on the case saver...Thanks...

    • @dtperformance256
      @dtperformance256 7 днів тому

      @MarkLeedham-n8d I don’t take any feedback as bashing as I watch videos and read things that are contradictory to each other. In this video I actually called Sonnax Tech support because I was getting mixed information from manuals and other videos….not bashing anyone else either. The way I installed the intermediate was based off of the pictures that Sonnax sent me. I appreciate your input and If you see something I do that doesn’t make sense please ask me what or why I did it. I make mistakes all the time and am glad to have someone correct me if I do something wrong. That’s what UA-cam is for…. To learn. Thanks for the information and commenting, I really do appreciate it.

    Do the stock wheels fit or do you have to go to a bigger size rim?

    • @dtperformance256
      @dtperformance256 7 днів тому

      @jeffturner9747 My truck had aftermarket 14” wheels that would not fit. To start the wheel has to be at least 15” to even clear the outer dimension of the brake caliper. Blazer 15” I know will fit, as you know these brakes are what Blazers came with from factory. Not sure about stock S10 wheels but if they are 15” they will clear the outer part of the caliper, but might not clear the backside of the wheel if that makes sense. Watch the second part of this video. I had issues with my Weld Pro Star front wheels clearing the front caliper bracket and I used a 1/4” spacer with longer wheel studs. I had guys on UA-cam that have done this swap say they have never seen that before so it is definitely depends on what the backspacing of the wheel is. Unfortunately I don’t have that measurement to help you out with. But thank you for watching and asking the question. I hope this helps at least a little.

    Thanks for these videos on the swap. Have used many ideas and tips on my ls blazer swap. While my frame and engine mounting is slightly different, i decided to notch and box in the crossmember to move the engine forward the inch you spoke about in this video. Allowed me to slip the engine and trans in bolted together, and use a factor trans dipstick without touching the firewall. The rad and fans will be close, but the core support is easy to modify/ replace if needed

    • @dtperformance256
      @dtperformance256 Місяць тому

      @jeffallen3382 Yeah I am curious too as to the capacity, but all my years driving with TH350’s I don’t ever remember having one overflow out of the vent tube. This is a little different set up so we will see. I will for sure keep everyone posted. On the line close to the exhaust, I was thinking the same thing that is why I am thinking I will use a 90 degree fitting and route the overflow tube down the dipstick tube. We will see how it works. Hello, trying to help a friend out he ordered a drum that has a checkbook in it but the drum that came out of the unit has a check in the piston. Can I use it and just put it 180° opposite from one side to the other side.

    • @dtperformance256
      @dtperformance256 2 місяці тому

      @frankvottiero8704 I have heard of people running two check balls with no issue. Most people don’t do it. I don’t think it matters how you turn the piston in the drum. If you want one check ball you can order them on Facebook pretty cheap or you could knock the check ball out, tap the hole for a set screw using red loctite and plug the hole. You could also weld the hole up. I have a video showing how to use the set screw method. Thanks for commenting and watching!! ua-cam.com/video/_iOKM_-SZ-Y/v-deo.htmlsi=dNOyEi8wjFJl5twf

    What are the steam lines from? My factory lines only have the front ports connected. I like that all 4 ports are connected and lay close to the valley cover compared to some of the after-market ones.

    • @dtperformance256
      @dtperformance256 2 місяці тому

      @jasongladden4647 My factory heads had the holes for all four steam lines. The tubing you see on top of my valley cover is the factory steam tubing. My engine is a gen 3. Not sure when they changed but some heads have the back ports plugged. The bolt holes are there, but the steam ports are plugged. If you try and remove them it would be best to take the heads off and push the plugs out from the inside of the head to allow you to run all four steam lines. I can send you some photos if you want to email me.

      I have an L92 6.2L, which is a 4th gen that I am putting in my 88 S10. It also has all 4 ports in the heads. They just used the front ports and put plugged the back ports. The plugs are just like the front, just no tubing connected to them. I will look at the steam line on my silverado it has an LM7 in it.

    • @dtperformance256
      @dtperformance256 2 місяці тому

      @jasongladden4647 you should be able to pick up a stock steam tube assembly just about anywhere. I know alot of people talk about running just the front tubes because engines typically sit in the engine bay with the rear of the engine tilting down. “They” say the air pockets will make their way to the front ports and back into the coolant lines but I am like you, I feel better with all four of them connected.

    I've been using that LA Totally Awesome cleaner for years. I actually found out about it from a guy on UA-cam who rebuilds RC plane engines for a living. I have a few and I forgot to oil up one engine after the season and it sat with Nitro fuel in it for a long time. This seized it up pretty bad internally with a nasty gunk! Used that LA Totally Awesome cleaner per his recommendation and it freed up the engine AND didn't harm the aluminum like Simple Green can. Plus it's cheap! We use it to clean everything around the house!

      @jeffallen3382 I am a believer. As soon as I dropped the valve covers in the pan, the caked on oil started to dissolve. I couldn’t believe it. I’ll be picking up a few more gallons from the DG this afternoon! As always thanks for watching and commenting!

    I applaud your creativity and ideas, but I don’t think I like the way it turned out. maybe if you sand it down like you said, it won’t be as aggressive looking. Keep up the work and keep the videos coming. I know I’m late to the party, but I’m doing the same thing to my truck.

    In dealing with this same thing right now, as soon as I torque the valve body down the piston will not move without a good amount of force.

    • @dtperformance256
      @dtperformance256 2 місяці тому

      @Brraaad I had to send mine back for a replacement. It was stuck and I originally thought.. well its tight and when I get the shift linkage on it, I will have some leverege to move it. Not a chance. The new one was so smooth. Man I hate that for you. I know the feeling of getting it so close to being together and then things like this happens. If you have the option to send it back I would. If not I would probably check with a machine shop and see if they can match bore it to the spool. That was my thought at first and then I thought… I paid over $400 this thing should work out of the box. One call to Summit and they made it right immediately. I just had to wait on it to ship. Good luck I hope you get it figured out. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    FYI -service manual says " Tighten the bolts to 70 N.m (52 lb ft)." Service manual ASSUMES you're replacing with OEM rubber replacements which are WAY softer. With the Energy Suspension polyurethane ones I just tighten em tight and check again after 2 wks to make sure they're tight. Sheet that came from Energy Suspension says to tighten to 44-55ft. lbs. (standard/extended cab)

    • @dtperformance256
      @dtperformance256 2 місяці тому

      @worshipwhilewewait Thanks for sharing!! My Energy Suspension kit instructions only says to tighten to factory spec. I added a little blue loc-tite and went back and torqued to 45 ft lbs. I will definitely be rechecking the torque spec once I have a little drive time on it. I really appreciate the information and thanks again for watching and commenting!!
