I actually got to play Lego DC Supervillains for the first time last year, and I _absolutely_ agree. There are a lot of really good Lego games out there, but from the moment I started it DC Supervillains just felt different from the rest.
DC Super Villains is my favorite Lego game, so I agree it's the best. The voice acting is top notch, with the best voice actors to ever play Batman, Joker, and Lex Luthor: Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill and Clancy Brown. Plus, there's voice talent from Justice League Unlimited, Young Justice, Arkham, Injustice, and several DC animated movies. The boss battles are a lot of fun, the combat is improved, and I love that your custom character is part of the story. It has one of the best character rosters in a Lego game, and every DLC pack was good, with interesting characters and levels. I really love this game.
Lex Luthor is an interesting character to say the least, at first I really hated him for ditching us but then after watching batman v superman.. I started to see the real reason he did the things he did. Also at first when commissioner Gordon said *"... The amazo project"* and then Lex's response to that, I though WE were the android. I always felt that there could be so much done with Lex and not just him hating the Justice League or people with super powers, like he has no real reason in my opinion, it would be cool to say that the real reason he hates super powers is because something happened in his life, kinda like Batman's life. I always had this damn theory in my head that there's more to this man, that superman had done something to change his perception of how he sees him, that perhaps superman accidently killed someone he loved or something along those lines and then wanted to spare other people the grief he himself experienced by taking it upon himself to get rid of superman or at the very least: His powers, but like I said, this is just a person headcannon of mine that probably will be disproven, but I still like to imagine that, that was the real reason why, but I guess we're stuck with what we're stuck with.
I think the biggest downside to the open world of Lego DC Super Villains in my opinion is the pretty absurdly low invisible ceiling. Like, the invisible ceiling constantly changes. It's lower in Gotham than it is in Metropolis, but honestly that's not that bad. Just the fact that in some parts of Metropolis primarily (but also Smallville and so on) have changing ceilings, and also in Smallville you can't stand on some of the cliffs/rocks on the side of the map for some reason because of an invisible wall. I just wish you could fly over the cliffs/mountains instead of having to take the narrow routes, as well as maybe a few more hidden rooms, like the hidden room in the head of the cable car statue of Metropolis. By the way despite all this I still love it lmao, I'm just not a huge fan of these weird constraints (and I love exploring new things for the first time even when I think I already know it very well). Also Apokolips is too small tbh. Still fun to go to but really there was so much to see but barely anything to do.
Definitely not the solution to the problem but there are ways to glitch outside of the map and fly around above and there are some rocks outside metropolis that are outside the barrier but can be stood on
One thing that really stood out to me about LEGO DC Super Villains is the insanely good customization. With the feature of recoloring character pieces and easy selection of abilities, it really has come a long way from your held weapon determining your power.
Which in my opinion is a huge issue in lego marvel super herose.I loved the game but the customisation was always a problem but then they took that customisablity to the rest of the games and I didn't play much after that. But man did this game get me HIPPED when it was first announced!!
Just recently played dc super villains and I absolutely loved it. I think the devs smashed it with this game. I seriously loved all of the characters and think it's roster is my favourite part. But I personally think lego batman 2 is the best lego game as it was revolutionary for lego games at that time.
This is my favorite Lego game by a longshot. The characters, hub worlds, and combat is honestly some of the most fun I've had playing these games. The cherry on top is that amazing character creator
For me personally it has to be lego marvel superheroes 1.Even though I am a DC fan, superheroes was the first lego game I played on ps3 and the experience was great. From the characters to the level design to the open world everything was outstanding
Personally I think the best is Lego Harry Potter years 1-4 the character roster is massive for a game without character voices and it’s been describing the story quite well (up to prisoner of Azkaban haven’t watched/read goblet of fire) the level designs are amazing and the open world is just… yes
@@Cinnamontoastcoughdrop They'll defo be remaking that in a couple years once the Fantastic beasts films finish up. Lego The Wizarding world and Lego MCU are pretty much guaranteed after The Skywalker saga.
I think the worst character from this game is mirror man. He fells like a gimmick character. And I was shocked to find that he wasn’t originally from Dc super villains.
Yeah, Mirror Master is a Flash villain from the comics. Most of Flash's original villains were nothing more than gimmicks, but they've been developed more in recent years. Mirror Master still isn't very interesting though.
@@GarrettTheViking Mirror Master is also incredibly outclassed by the other characters with the Mirror Portal ability. Raven, for example, has Heat, Flight, Electricity, Deflect, Lantern, Impact, Illumination, Security, Mirror Portal, Mind Control, Vent and Telekinesis. Mirror Master only has Mirror Portal, Deflect, Acrobat and Sonar. It's a no-brainer.
Man, this has been my favorite lego game since it came out So glad you talked about it, I truly believe it is a great game, besides the open world here is phenomenal
This is the nostalgia talking but Complete Saga and the Middle-earth games on the Xbox 360 will forever have a place in my heart. I mean, roaming around Middle Earth as gandalf is just the pinnacle of life haha. Complete Saga is just, i mean, its from 2007 and it still has one of the best character rosters and some of the greatest level designs ever. Star Wars at it’s finest. Great video! Keep up the amazing work!
I haven’t watched this yet, but lego Star Wars the complete saga has that great nastalgia feel, and Indiana Jones is definitely my favorite, but I say the best is lego marvel 1 because it has one of the greatest character roster with good story, amazing free roam, and what I feel the new games struggle with is the animations like attacking and changing characters aren’t a long process but rather very smooth
I personally think Lego city Undercover is the best because you can clearly see the developers were passionate because the game is huge! So many cool mechanics and a really cool character and story.
I’m playing it right now and it was great. Until I looked through the list of stuff to collect. It’s starting to feel like a chore and all of the collectibles are in the boring areas of the map. Too much stuff that wasn’t spread out enough. Way to much gold bricks.
I think the best lego game is star wars 3 clone wars. As a kid, I really loved this game that I had more play time in beta than the original game. Graphically and mechanically it was ahead of its time. Even if you open the game now I assure you won't feel like it was made in 2011.
Yeah, I got so confused by it the first time round but then I found myself taking screenshots of all the weird and whacky combinations that happened, like once I got lex luthor in his power suit and him in the same suit right in front of Lex Corp and another where it was the Rookie character and a different customised character. I have so many, I really want to share them with the world at this point because it's so hilarious, that's really the main reason I still play this game even after completing it and all the achievements.
agreed the lego dc super villians is the best. people say the saga is the best since its nestogic but putting nestogia aside, the saga is garbage comapred to dc super villains. dc has the best story, customizatiions and an amazing open world (sometimes i feel like is a lil small lol). nice video and i hope your doing well with school!
@@finch6078 right but i still hear to this day that it’s somehow the best. i think, “is it because you grew up with it and that’s why you have fond memories of it and if the devs make the perfect game you still won’t like it?”
It's the second Lego video game I've bothered to get 100% twice on (Lego Batman 1 was the first), which is usually really difficult for me to get myself to do. That's how I know it's a great game. Also the second lego game I've gotten on 2 different systems (PS4 and Switch -- Lego Marvel 1 was the first, which I got for both PC and PS4)
I can’t wait for Lego Skywalker Saga to hopefully incorporate some of the character creation stuff from this game. Lots of good ideas, like changing outfit and weapon colors, different weapons, using dlc parts, etc
There are many reasons Lego Supervillains is the best. best thing about supervillains is that the story is relatively short, I like that, I want to get to the free play part as fats as possible. Also you’re character creator character is the main character. Then there’s the upgraded functions of said Character creator, the first one where you can choose abilities of your character. Then there’s some characters getting specialised abilities, with Darkseids laser vision, the fact some characters have two versions of their beams, electricity and magic.
Personally probably a bit biased but lego batman 2. Me and my brother played it all the time when we were kids and it was a ton of fun. The story, the open world, the characters all of it made the best experience for a first lego game
I will always have a soft spot for all of the Lego Marvel games , Lego Batman 1&3 , and Star Wars complete saga. But out of those I would say my favorite Lego game is Lego Marvel Superheroes. It introduced me to so many characters I love so much such as Moon Knight, Carnage,Dr. Doom, Fantastic Four, Captain America, Wolverine ect.
Lego Marvel 1 is definitely in my top 3, only behind Lego DC Supervillains and Lego Batman 1. I'm biased towards the superhero games, even though I've played a few of the others.
My personal favourite LEGO game is LEGO lord of the ring, with its great open world, amazing level design as well as soundtrack, cool new gimmicks like being able to switch and forge tools, and the awesome characters.
I definitely agree and I have been waiting for this game to get some more credit for how good it is. After I played this game I thought it had a lot of cool features. I really like the character customization and the different missions and scavenger hunts are well done.
When you think about it the arkham series and the lego series are vere similar in their proposal like: arkham asylum and lego batman 1 which had the idea of bilding the core mechanics in a semi-open world arkham city and lego batman 2 expanding the universe with a huge open world (with memorable endings) arkham knight and lego batman 3 bringing their trilogies to the next generation (being more controversial)
You know what I find weird? I guessed that it was Lego DC Super Villains, and it turned out to actually be it. But the reason why I thought it was the best because of the customizer being the best customizer to date.
Personally I think Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga is the best Lego game, and it's not because it is the most recent title to date, or because I am a big star wars fan. But because they nailed the game. There are so many small details that really make the game amazing. If you are wondering about to buy Lego star wars the skywalker saga, I suggest you do. Had an amazing experience playing that game and it also gave me memories of the complete saga.
The only thing that I don't really like is the length of the levels. Most of them you can complete in 5 minutes. But it's for 2 reasons - 9 episodes and the biggest open world throughout the whole LEGO game series.
My favorite is Lego Marvel Superheroes, back in 2013 I used to spend hours and hours exploring Manhattan and unlocking every single character and vehicle
I completely agree. Not only was the story great, the open world was diverse and really fun, the loads of characters made free play and customisation great, and it looks amazing visually.
this is my favorite lego game since 2018 😆. I have the deluxe physic edition since day 1 a d have it 100% in 2 different savings and i LOVE IT! Keep it up man, your videos are 🔥 !
Love DC Supervillians but since your custom character doesn’t talk it’d be fun if you could make your own voice lines for your character using a specific voice that’d be really cool plus I made Jean Grey as my custom character for the story (Major X Men Fan Jean my fav) so it would be great to do that and also make your own story and aliases for your character it’d be so cool just an idea for the next Lego game
Honestly, with how incredible the gameplay of DC Super-Villains is, I can’t *wait* to see what they do to top in in The Skywalker Saga, especially in regards to the ground combat, character customization, space battles, and locations. It’s gonna be *crazy…*
this is the 2nd favourite LEGO Game, only beaten by LCU. and it's also the only game I got at launch / got the deluxe edition for (LSWSS being second to come)
I wholeheartedly agree. My favorite is Lego Star Wars tcs followed by Lotr, but I do agree that the best regarding quality and execution is definitely DC Villains. I also love the character customization, and I'm so hyped to see the Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga's!
Mine is Lego Lord of the rings first the story goes through all the lotr movies second the character selection is really good and the world is massive plus you can craft weapons
I knew it was LDCSV I love that game, spent the most time in that lego game along with LSTCS it’s so Replayable the open world is one of if not the best the character roster is almost perfect the dlcs are worth the price and the level designs are amazing This is coming from a Marvel guy
My biggest (and only real) problem with the game: Mark Hamill voices Joker and Kevin Conroy voices Batman. They were too good for Lego Batman 2 & 3, but then they decided "Oh, these games actually make money.. lets get smaller voice actors fired!!" ..oh, and the lack of suits.
I feel like you’ve made this video 100 times lol. All love bro but jokes aside its Lego Batman 1 for me. Its brilliantly mixed the aesthetic of BTAS and Tim Burton’s Batman into such a perfect design wise Batman property.
Lego Batman 1 has always had a special place in my heart, especially when nostalgia is added to the mix. Lego DC Supervillains is honestly my favorite though, even with the nostalgia boost LB1 gets.
I agree. I always go back to this just to mess around with the character customizer. The first level is iconic, and the story is meh, but it wasn't trying to be super great: it leaned into the fun and goofy villainous chaos, and that lasts even after the story clear to 100%. Plus, the cast makes it even better. Crazy that it came out 4 years ago this year. Granted, Skywalker Saga will probably surpass it, but for now, DC Super-Villains is the most pure fun I've had in a LEGO game ever.

I absolutely love this game. I grew up on LEGO games such as Star Wars TCW, Harry Potter, LOTR and Marvel Superheroes 1, but as I got older I stopped playing LEGO games completely. Recently stumbled upon this game in a store for 5 euros, and thought to myself "why not?". Its great. The levels are fun, the open world is really interesting to explore, the character roster is quite big and as a DC fan I've got to say that I'm happy they added some obscure characters from the comics. Not to mention the fact that the character customization has improved so much compared to the older (and even some recent) LEGO games. The best thing about this game in my opinion, is the fact that anyone can play it, no matter the age! I'm 17 (turning 18 soon) and I'm having so much fun playing it, even though LEGO games are mainly aimed at young kids. Definitely a 9/10 game! :)
I definitely enjoyed this game going into it, especially the fact that you play as your custom character, that’s such a cool mechanic! I think I had it as a disk though so I’ve been trying to find a way to play it lol!
As a non-DC fan, I've recently given this one a spin and I gotta admit that it's up there with my favorite Lego games. It's hands down the best one in terms of soundtrack, voiceovers and sound design and it's up there with City Undercover as far as plot and uniqueness are concerned. It's super solid from a mechanical perspective, with above average level design (layouts and puzzles are good, it's just that they often feel samey - bossfights are pretty cool tho), an open world which is a decent compromise between quantity and quality and fantastic character movesets. My one complaint would be about how wonky the driving mechanics are, vehicles are borderline unusable in this game and I don't really understand why.
Lego DC supervillians and lego Star Wars Skywalker saga have the best " open world" however the best hub is lego batman 1 batcave, lego complete saga cantina and lego clone wars hub.
I'm always stunned that the different lego games (and the movies as well) have such a solid grasp on the different dc characters compared to the current movies or the injustice series
In my opinion, I like this game because you can make your own main characters that kinda centers around you but more around the DC villains. TBH and I hate to say this but this game and the Lego Harry potter games (Year 1-4 and Year 5-7) are the best game TT compared to the other games they have made like the old lego Star wars, Indy and batman games (I can feel the mob is coming)
My favorite LEGO Game has to be Lego Batman 1. It's not just nostalgia for me but everytime I played that game as a kid I just never got bored. I enjoyed every single second of it. It was the very first Lego game I played, and it grew my love for Lego even more. And actually today I just restarted it on my PC and gosh it is so amazing. Once again there is nostalgia for me but I just love the old design and game play of the old Lego games. I just find them so much fun and especially Lego Batman 1. Now for second for me I couldn't decide but it's either Marvel Superheroes 1 or The Complete Saga.
my favorite has to be Lego POTC, nostalgia is an important factor on it ofc but it seems it still is the one I enjoy playing the most at the end of the day
7:37 I remember going as far as to exploit a bug with the speedboat (At least I think it was the speedboat) that allowed me to bypass the game turning me around that would normally prevent me from getting too far off the map and successfully pulled it off thinking I would be able to go to Metropolis by doing that (I was like 5 and didn't understand how video games worked) I lost a lot of studs that day.
Don’t be mad but my favorite Lego Game is Lego Batman 3 the characters are amazing the story is amazing open world is okay but the levels are good when you reply them the dlc is my favorite dlc and it’s just nostalgic for me I played it a lot then and now and the opening cutscene is incrediblely nostalgia I watched that cutscene 100 times every time I open the game the cutscene is there
Lego DC Super Villians got me back into Lego games after i stopped playing after Marvel Superheroes. It has a fantastic roster, great character customisation, fun combat, strong lego design & a great open world.
It’s kinda lucky I ran into this video. Just finished playing super villains. I’ve really enjoyed it a lot. I don’t know if I’d say it’s the best but it’s definitely up there as one of the best imo.

@@Chuck_Sucker I got the collection back in October and have been slowly getting 100% on years 1-4 haven’t touched 5-7 in a while
I really like 1-4 but I prefer 5-7
goblet of fire the best one tho, ur in for a treat (edit: best book)
It's a no-brainer.
i think hes still a pretty unique character, personally i like him
Mirror master is great
Man, this has been my favorite lego game since it came out
So glad you talked about it, I truly believe it is a great game, besides
the open world here is phenomenal
So many cool mechanics and a really cool character and story.
bro it s lego gta, i just regret that even in the free roam you have a linear playthrough feeling...
@Beata Witt Oh yeah let's just have an open world with just police cars with civilians inside of them
I’m playing it right now and it was great. Until I looked through the list of stuff to collect. It’s starting to feel like a chore and all of the collectibles are in the boring areas of the map. Too much stuff that wasn’t spread out enough. Way to much gold bricks.
@@hydrocritical2268 But that means you can replay it for longer
@@AngIesey No it just makes it a chore to 100%. It also crashes a lot so it really lost a lot of value to me.
I haven't missed a single video. Every video is better that the previous.
Thanks man ;)
That level in Super Villains with Reverse-Flash and the other speedster running around Metropolis in the speed force is AMAZING!
I think the best lego game is star wars 3 clone wars. As a kid, I really loved this game that I had more play time in beta than the original game. Graphically and mechanically it was ahead of its time. Even if you open the game now I assure you won't feel like it was made in 2011.
One of the best things is you spawn every time in free play with a random character, so you don’t get bored of any of your characters!
Agreed
Nostalgia can blind people
Well, it’s also almost two decades older, so…
@@finch6078 right but i still hear to this day that it’s somehow the best. i think, “is it because you grew up with it and that’s why you have fond memories of it and if the devs make the perfect game you still won’t like it?”
Lego DC Supervillains hands down! Almost every character feels unique and it's such a blast to play! I could play endlessly.
Rip
This aged REALLY bad
HA
we wished. I am disappointed with the game tbh. Still like it but meh
@@DarthDargoz combat was amazing but lol yeah idk
You forgot about one really important thing in this game, which is customiser. This game has the best customiser in any Lego game now.
The new Lego Saints Row game dropped?
I will always have a soft spot for all of the Lego Marvel games , Lego Batman 1&3 , and Star Wars complete saga. But out of those I would say my favorite Lego game is Lego Marvel Superheroes. It introduced me to so many characters I love so much such as Moon Knight, Carnage,Dr. Doom, Fantastic Four, Captain America, Wolverine ect.
Im exactly the same, except I didn't like lego marvel 2
My favourite is LEGO Marvel 1! Perfect Open World, perfect roster, perfect story, perfect side missions, perfect, perfect, perfect!
When you think about it the arkham series and the lego series are vere similar in their proposal like:
arkham asylum and lego batman 1 which had the idea of bilding the core mechanics in a semi-open world
arkham city and lego batman 2 expanding the universe with a huge open world (with memorable endings)
arkham knight and lego batman 3 bringing their trilogies to the next generation (being more controversial)
I second this notion, barely finished it yet and absolutely loving it. So much to do and so charming in its world and character design
I can’t believe the customiser wasn’t mentioned! That was the best part!
Honestly, with how incredible the gameplay of DC Super-Villains is, I can’t *wait* to see what they do to top in in The Skywalker Saga, especially in regards to the ground combat, character customization, space battles, and locations.
It’s gonna be *crazy…*
the combat was actually one of the most fun i've had in a lego game before
This game imo is the best Lego game, I remember really wanting it and when I got it i remember playing with my cousin trying to unlock characters
I agree, but I’m surprised you didn’t mention the rookie that you got to customize and how they get new powers throughout the game
Got a video on customizer about that
Don’t like how the discount justice league beats every dc villain in one battle
4:30 That was my favorite level in that whole game
this is the 2nd favourite LEGO Game, only beaten by LCU. and it's also the only game I got at launch / got the deluxe edition for (LSWSS being second to come)
0:25 Referencing the best Toto song in the intro.
I knew it was LDCSV I love that game, spent the most time in that lego game along with LSTCS it’s so Replayable the open world is one of if not the best the character roster is almost perfect the dlcs are worth the price and the level designs are amazing
This is coming from a Marvel guy
you NEED to do Top 10 Nostalgic Levels
LEGO City Undercover is my personal favorite. I know objectively it isn't the best, but I love the hub world, original story, and game play
Can you do a video reviewing every DS Lego game since nobody seems to talk about how different they were.
I absolutely LOVE you putting the book of boba fett music in here!!! It’s so so so good. Not as good as Mando but really close
Finally a youtuber who does lego games, and does it well. Sub added mate!
I bought a bunch of lego games on a sale, all of them that i got, I have played before. Except this one. I can't wait to play it soon
My biggest (and only real) problem with the game: Mark Hamill voices Joker and Kevin Conroy voices Batman. They were too good for Lego Batman 2 & 3, but then they decided "Oh, these games actually make money.. lets get smaller voice actors fired!!"
..oh, and the lack of suits.
3:36 this absolute madman is playing a Marvel theme over a DC game
I was counting down the seconds till this upload🔥🔥👍
Hope you enjoy it
I feel like you’ve made this video 100 times lol.

Me:dc super villians is underrated but its probably a star wars game
I min later: LETS GOOOOO
i will never miss a ruggedeagle vid
Aaaaay
people said lego city undercover was a lego gta but no it's that!
Your editing is always amazing
Thanks man
@@ruggedeagle should I get dc supervillains or Incredibles on switch
@@thespudking1523 I’d say supervillians
I barely picked this game up and of the 3 levels i have played through so far it is very good
Lego DC supervillians and lego Star Wars Skywalker saga have the best " open world" however the best hub is lego batman 1 batcave, lego complete saga cantina and lego clone wars hub.
I agree. Before today, my favourite game ever was lego avengers, but now that I've played dc supervillains, I'm in love. It's definitely better.
I'd say this or Super Heroes 2 is the best game. But Complete Saga is still my favorite.
That new gameplay trailer dropped today was heart wrenching
I'm always stunned that the different lego games (and the movies as well) have such a solid grasp on the different dc characters compared to the current movies or the injustice series
Lego DC Villains did what everyone wanted from the start good customer character creation

For any fans of Lord Boba Fett, the music started at that point, you’ll like it.
Keep up the awesome work.
I totaly agree with you
Thanks man ;)
I’d love to see a video on the Lego Battles games
In my opinion, I like this game because you can make your own main characters that kinda centers around you but more around the DC villains. TBH and I hate to say this but this game and the Lego Harry potter games (Year 1-4 and Year 5-7) are the best game TT compared to the other games they have made like the old lego Star wars, Indy and batman games (I can feel the mob is coming)
Yessir, Lego DC super villians was the first Lego game i ever got 100% completion on
New to the channel, absolutely love your vids!
Thanks Kevin
My favorite LEGO Game has to be Lego Batman 1. It's not just nostalgia for me but everytime I played that game as a kid I just never got bored. I enjoyed every single second of it. It was the very first Lego game I played, and it grew my love for Lego even more. And actually today I just restarted it on my PC and gosh it is so amazing. Once again there is nostalgia for me but I just love the old design and game play of the old Lego games. I just find them so much fun and especially Lego Batman 1. Now for second for me I couldn't decide but it's either Marvel Superheroes 1 or The Complete Saga.
my favorite has to be Lego POTC, nostalgia is an important factor on it ofc but it seems it still is the one I enjoy playing the most at the end of the day
Ny favorite open world was Lego Batman 2, I had so muxh fun collecting every character and grinding for studs when I was a kid
7:37 I remember going as far as to exploit a bug with the speedboat (At least I think it was the speedboat) that allowed me to bypass the game turning me around that would normally prevent me from getting too far off the map and successfully pulled it off thinking I would be able to go to Metropolis by doing that (I was like 5 and didn't understand how video games worked)
I lost a lot of studs that day.
My personal favorite is lego jurassic world I just hope they make a new one with jurassic world fallen kingdom and jurassic world dominion levels
These are my childhood games back in the late 2000s and early 2010s on the wii , ps3 , xbox 360
Lego marvel 2 and dc supervillains mirror each other so much and they are my top two but I like marvel better
100% agreed ive played through this game so many times and i still love it
How about when LEGO Star Wars the skywalker saga comes out
Yess I have been waiting for this video if you remember me commenting this was a great video as always
Andrew Spiderman theme playing n the background I hear
My favorite Lego games are Lego Marvel Superheroes 1,Lego Marvel Superheroes 2,Lego Marvel Avengers and Lego DC Super Villains
You have great taste.
The how to train your dragon theme just hits different ♥️
It’s kinda lucky I ran into this video. Just finished playing super villains. I’ve really enjoyed it a lot. I don’t know if I’d say it’s the best but it’s definitely up there as one of the best imo.
