  • Sammy Hagar Live in St. Louis, March 1983 from the Three Lock Box tour. Found this footage on an old VHS, perhaps from an MTV broadcast. Featuring NEVER GIVE UP - I'VE DONE EVERYTHING FOR YOU - HEAVY METAL - I'LL FALL IN LOVE AGAIN - YOUR LOVE IS DRIVING ME CRAZY.

For over 40 years has been one of my favorite famous talented people, always upbeat and happy, always humble and thankful

This looks like a 80's aerobic video.

This is why at least in my mind that Sammy should have remained a solo artist .VH was great with him .But on his own he had that Hagar sound and had a great band .

Yep, I wanted Hagar to remain a solo artist. I enjoyed his work with VH but the edge to his music was sacrificed for the good of the band. Three Lock Box is my fave album.

Gah this takes me back to 1983 and watching MTV all night long, discovered SH on MTV, he’s one of the GOAT! Got to see him with Van Halen in 1986, was on the floor not too far from the stage, he was awesome! And still is!

This was not only an MTV broadcast, but radio stations played this show live. I listened to this and then saw Sammy and Night Ranger in Kansas City 2 days later.

Saw him on the same Three Lock Box Tour with Night Ranger. Incredible Show!! He hung on the stage lighting scaffolding above stage and threw his guitar onto a stack of amps and it blew up caught fire same thing with the front end of Trans Am “Baby’s on Fire” song the inside just blazed with smoke ….. just a Great 1980s Concert at his Best!! tops any VanHagar shows…..Love Sammy

I couldn’t handle the move to Halen. Took me about 35 years to realize Sammy was the obvious and perfect choice

Band was so tight and on point, Sammy was different on his own, preferred him alone, love EVH, but preferred them with Roth thru 84, yes Sammy rocked with EVH and of course I loved that too, but each was better without the other jmo

I'm old enough to remember Sammy's love affair with St. Louis and going down to Peaches to meet him and get my album cover signed.

That was a great show, the next time I saw Sammy play was his first tour with Van Halen, in the same checkerdome.

I feel his drinking has ruined that great tone he had. Being a singer you'd think like an expensive car you want to take care of it.

He's in his 70s, it's called getting old, he still sounds good to me!
Most Rock vocalists lose some range as they age.
