      Quantity = enough to season a single meal.
      Salt probably 2 tablespoons max.
      Saffron would be one or two single threads (flower stamens), since it is a super powerful flavor and that’s how much chefs use for a whole recipe.
      And only 10 magic uses?
      Yeah in the Capital you could supply the Royal chef with a few gold worth, max.
      Best one use? Probably pepper or cayenne to stop a whole company of troops from coming down the tunnels after you...

    8:30 My character was trained in Cook's Utensils and would use Chest of Preserving found in Season 8 of Adventurer's League to store sauces made when he had a full kitchen that were needed for a good meal on the road (in the dungeon of the mad mage).
    Example cilantro-jalapeño sauce to put on spiced chicken:
    Combine mayonnaise, ½ tbsp of water, 1 tbsp of olive oil, minced roasted garlic and finely chopped jalapeño, and ½ of a juiced lime. Add some cilantro (roughly chop all the leaves and stems before adding) and season with S&P

    The hat of wizardry and the similar warlock shard that can be used as a wearable focus that allows you a chance at casting any cantrip can be OP in the right caster's hands. It's the cantrip version of a wish spell. Most utility cantrips barely get used more than once a day as it is but when there is a use for them they're very useful. The Ruby of the Warmage doesn't seem very powerful at first glance, but... rules-as-written, it's much more useful than you'd think, especially for a multiclassing spellcaster. Or a half-caster that normally can't use a focus.
    See, it _doesn't specify_ it turns the weapon it's attached to into a Spellcasting Focus of any specific type; it's not an Arcane Focus, Holy Symbol, Druidic Focus, musical instrument, or Artisan Tool. It's something else, that any spellcaster can use.
    _Any_ spellcaster. Even half-casters that don't have a Focus feature.
    And that _also_ means that a multiclassing spellcaster can use it for _all_ their spells.
    As an example: A Bard/Paladin/Sorcerer would normally just use a Component Pouch because they'd otherwise need to juggle three different Foci. With a Ruby of the Warmage, they can instead use the weapon with the Ruby attached to it, regardless of what class list the spell they're casting comes from.
    And all this in an item designed to simply combine a weapon and a focus into a single object.

    My DM incentivizes cooking based RP and abilities by offering benefits: 1. during a long rest consuming a meal prepared by a party member allows everyone who partakes to roll an extra hit die 2. A meal prepared by an individual allows everyone to roll an extra hit die + the proficiency bonus of the character that prepared it 3. A character may cook a meal with the intent of alleviating symptoms from a disease, the character makes a wisdom (medicine) check and, if they are proficient with cooking utensils, add their proficiency bonus and double it if they are proficient in medicine and cooking utensils.

    How about a video on character backgrounds, ideas and memorable things, and ways to have two or more PCs share some history before the campaign.
    How important are multi-session long side quests and how impactful should they be?
    Dealing with PC death, when to revive and when to move on
    Crafting systems that the PCs can use to generate income would be an interesting watch.

He let me grow a good berry bush that would bloom of a morning and we named him Berry and we made him our side kick/my my familiar in reverse. I am an Arcane Trickster so a familiar is cool but i sneak so much better then him. So i made a magic item the cloak of rodents it is a patchwork cloak with a class of a bat caring a mouse it would let me change into a bat or a mouse. Also what i changed forms Berry would grow an odd fruit that was translucence and the size of a small watermelon that would invert the familiar sharing senses.

      On the one hand, mundane items are very expensive magic?
      Other hand, imagine a wizard sponsor trying to send out the adventurers to gather knowledge of the world, build a library of Alexandria, or gather intel on the crowns behalf...
      They might make a wagonload of handy adventuring gear for the party...
      Past such builds would of course be found as loot, implying those parties died?

    I'm shocked that the Moon-touched Sword didn't make the list. A magic weapon really helps when dealing with creatures that are otherwise immune/resistant. Another great one that I was surprised to not see is the Ruby of the War Mage, which makes any weapon into a spell focus, giving a focus to the EK Fighter, the AT Rogue, and the Ranger for the first time. Great for a sword and board or dual wielder.

    There’s a new common item in the Witchlight book called Minor Wish Stone. It requires attunement and lets you cast ANY 1st level spell before crumbling to dust. Much like a Spellwrought Tattoo it allows any character to get a Familiar (especially if there’s an Artificer who can make a free infusion each morning).
    The advantage to this is that it gives some extra versatility for the small inconvenience of waiting after a short rest to attune to it. If you can spare the attunement (primarily at low levels) that means Cure Wounds on a Sorcerer/Wizard, Shield on a Druid or Martial class, Disguise Self on a non-Arcane Trickster Rogue, etc. but you can also instead decide to use an evocation if you need some extra damage, Faerie Fire if there’s an unexpected invisible enemy, etc. You can choose what spell you want to cast as you need it, not when you finish a long rest.

    There isn’t any oxygen in the haven sack or bag of holding. Should preserve things decently. Hell throw some ice in there and it’s damn near a vacuum sealed refrigerator in there.

    • @NerdImmersion
      @NerdImmersion  5 років тому +2

      It states in the description there is 10 minutes of air that is replenished each time they're opened: "Breathing creatures inside the bag can survive up to a number of minutes equal to 10 divided by the number of creatures (minimum 1 minute), after which time they begin to suffocate"

    • @binolombardi
      @binolombardi 5 років тому +2

      Nerd Immersion
      Yes. My vacuum statement is a reference to the fact that it is a dimensional space on the inside that is mostly unaffected by external temperatures, not that there is no air. My point is that it can be similar to a refrigerator because the contents in the dimensional space are not subjected to out side temperature unless the bag is opened. The rush of air is the only interaction that might cause temperature change.
      Thus, we put a couple of iced wine skins in there and it’s basically a YETI cooler.
      Prestidigitation can change temperature of objects.
      Control water can freeze water.
      Maybe your necromancer likes to keep bodies fresh before experimenting, a cone of cold prepares subjects nicely when the local peasantry come to investigate his dealings.
