I’m tickled that somebody made a video on the topic. I remember at the time of the 25 anniversary, I didn’t get why people expected more from CN. Networks generally don’t want to remind people how old they are. But I’d forgotten how much CN had done for their 20th. CN was in a really good place in 2012. The Netflix disruption hadn’t happened yet, and shows like Adventure Time and Regular Show were really hot. Most importantly, they had bounced back from their infamous 2009. They had reasons to celebrate. Today, CN has three shows they marathon constantly, and I don’t think they’ve figured out how to coexist with HBO Max. A lot has changed these last ten years, and they’re arguably in need of a comeback. Good video 👍
I remember getting excited for the 2012 Cartoon Planet block and awaiting what Brak and Zorak sketches & classic 90’s and 2000’s toons I’d get each Friday. I also remember watching Wallace & Gromit’s World Of Invention and Panty And Stocking With Gartberbelt alongside it be it before or afterwards.
I watch ppg on youtube but not cartoon network be for but now I watch the shows on hbo max and i really wonder what cartoon network will do for thier 30th anniversary ( and i saw old proms of animaniacs in the 2000s) but good work and have jolly good day.
as a ben 10 fan, the 25th anniversary video pisses me off mostly bc all the representation ben 10 got was literally just four arms dabbing, nothing else on any series prior this can be a whole discussion but cartoon network specially nowdays refuses to aknowledge Ben 10 and when they do it's always just the reboot depite it already have ended, and the 20th anniversary, while small, DID represent all 3 incarnations of Ben at that point, that one bumper where all 3 bens went "hero time" and looked at each other in an awkward way was really cool! and it was the last time Cartoon network decided to represent the entire Ben 10 franchise, including nowdays, every time they do a "hey look at all our characters!", there's a chance Ben 10 won't even be there, and if he is, it's just the reboot. Ben 10 is Cartoon network's most profitable and long running show, and a lot of people might forget this but Ben 10 was cartoon network's mascot during the 2000s, so it getting this half baked treatment bothers me, and the 25th anniversary is the best example of that
Agreed. Though to be fair, I feel like after doing so much for their 20th it be hard to do something to top it just 5 years after the fact. Especially with their 30th just around the corner. Might not feel as special if CN did stuff like this every 5 years. Thanks for the comment by the way, and sorry for the late reply. Working through my comment backlog. Glad you enjoyed the vid.
Amazing video, this honestly brings back so many memories of watching the anniversary. One of the best days ever
Thanks! I'm glad I was able to help you relive those memories.
