I agree there was a ton of other great and fun matches that could’ve won. I believe Kade and I were picked because of the tactful storyline of the last minute “come back“ submission by the 19-year-old ADCC champion.

Yeah it was a fucking emotional rollercoaster. PJ is the man but I'm bummed he ruined JT's streak. And then Ru wrecked da butter.
Rear body lock (PJ) > switch (Kade) > sit out (PJ) > hop over armbar (Kade)
That sequence 3 super fast counters in a row. Beautiful.
interestingly, Kade finished the same position that PJ had previously. But it seems PJ didn't put enough pressure with his right knee to keep Kade's head from raising.

The most epic match for sure ….. PJ put it ON kade but he had such a magnificent comeback. The way we faked with the whizzer like he was trying to use the overhook pressure but then he cut the corner and looked for the single leg instead !!!! So beautiful. I’m going to be looking for that setup when I end up in this body lock position

they need to add some wrestling rules like points for out of bounds and time to make athletes more engaged
I think points should be the first half of the match, when people are fresh and dry for take downs. Escaping back to the feet should score some points. And stalling, even in the submission only half of the match should result in loss of points. Fatigue and desperation could lead to more chance of a submission and risk of loss of points would force action until the end.

Shitty wrestling with atheltic guy muscling through most of them. Ruotolos has really good grappling but there wrestling still sucks

As a wrestler watching these guys go for takedowns feels like watching nerds play a trading card game. It’s boring. Credit where it’s due though I’m sure they’d both tap me out in about 1.5 seconds.

its a sport. it has self-defense aspects, but in this scenario, its a sport. a lot of the techniques are applicable to street fighting (see mma) and are really useful in mma. in a fight you wouldnt sit down and pull guard, theres different techniques that are applicable to different scenarios of the fight
