thanks for the vid helped me out heaps...one thing i did differently was the section u removed with the rubber crow bar was to pull from the bottom. was heaps easyer if u didnt have a rubber tool, also hazard lights if unplugged control the indicators dont drive around with that plug unplugged like i did. cheers
Hey man, thanks for the video. I have a 1999 Hiace like this. I am about to purchase a modern Sony head unit (DSX-A510BT), but I don't know if I need a harness adapter. Do you know what is the standard of the original plug in the Hiace?
If iit has the factory radio in it still you can use harness but you can also hard wire it. the shop that you buy the harness from will help you get the right ones. If it has an after market radio in it already the factory plugs may be chopped off.
I just took my radio out now and only removed the top screws and top part pulled out just the same (did not touch the part around the ignition). Question though where is the fuse box on this model hiace as we could not find it? (in our defence was at night outside by the time we looked).
There's a fuse box for the large fuses and relays (ignition, lights etc I'd say) kind of below the ash tray. To the right of that there's a smaller fuse box full of mini blade fuses.
@@DIYChannelSteve I just had to break off one of the plastic tabs that lock the dash in, in order to get it past the steering wheel. You wouldn't notice once you put it all back together again.
the van was made before 1990, i don't think it wikk need the side plates... could you please tell me if a radio with Height: 5.0cm Width:12.0cm Depth: 17.8cm will do?
Thanks ,not too many videos on hiace radio removal.Helped heaps .South Aussie.

Saving my bacon!....as I attempt to put in a 2 DIN stereo

Cool Vid, ma I ask did you have enough space to remove the radio if leaving the dash hanging? Many thanks!

I think its on the passenger side.

It finished right at the bit where I'm stuck. I got it that far, but can't get it past the steering wheel
Yeah,. sorry about that. It is a bit tricky too. I hope you have it sorted by now.

Yes it is a bit tricky. Glad you sorted it.
Hi, do you know how to drop the steering column? I can't see any levers. cheers
some may not have a lever. if it does it will be on the left side of colum surround.
thank you
Спасибо!
I have been trying to gain access to the fuse box (behind the dash). Would this be the best approach to achieve this?
are you trying to remove the fuse panel, than yes. but you only need to remove the panel under the steering column
thank
Hi! can you, please, tell me the size of the radio of the toyota hiace h100? Thank you
double din. but some Toyota cars need atb2 side plates for after market radios. from aerpro.
the van was made before 1990, i don't think it wikk need the side plates... could you please tell me if a radio with Height: 5.0cm Width:12.0cm Depth: 17.8cm will do?
if your putting single din in it can fit. im not sure about double din for that model. i have only done single din.
please record battery location,please…
How to change shift knob
