I had a 1958 sears, It was the solid red one, why do I look back at it with such fond memories, even though a car hit me on night from behind. Yours looks great!
Had this same bike as a kid, not sure where my Mom got it from. Went fairly fast for such a small motor. Remember some sort of decompression device probably so you could pedal if the engine wasn't working or you were out of fuel. Thanks for posting this video, old bikes are cool.
My father bought one for 39.00 new at Sears. It was a 1966 and looked about the same only it had a chrome like gas tank. He got it so cheap because the "1" in $139 was washed off by rain- it was stored outside of a Sears auto store! Those were great little bikes. Just like ours, you could peddle it like a real bike but it would take a great amount of engergy to go far. You have a nice piece of history.
I just bought one today. Seller told me it hasn’t run since about 1965. I got it running in about 15 minutes. It’s original, but not nearly as nice as yours. Need to find the brake light, otherwise it’s all there!
Great reminder of the one I bought (paid $117 at Sears) in 1959 at age 14. Mine was all red/maroon and I rode it 6k miles in two years. It would go about 33mph down hill, down wind.
Been there done that. Mine was all red/maroon too. It was cool to take the muffler off and make noise😂 Never mind that it made the slower. We must be about the same age………..old😂
@joesphx19 that's the bike, put in gear #2, hold in clutch and peddle away. the fuel tank is chrome under the paint. i have a second video of this moped running. it is really fun to run on dirt trails. keith
What's your max speed? I read somewhere that they reach up to 35mph. I got mine up to the "standard 25mph. I'm thinking maybe the 35mph might be for an allstate motorcycle..
I have two that are similar. Can't find parts or info on them. Ones 90% complete and the others just a frame. Came with a whole bunch of parts but not sure what's all there
@fredneileen the two black wires at the tail light are for the brake light and the tail light. the red wire from the magneto goes to a coupling that exits in two black wires, 1 to the brake switch and the other to the horn. i have a schematic i will e-mail if you give your address. keith
@4287765 i beieve you are correct, i had a new one as a 14 year old. 10 yrs. ago i bought 2 parts bikes off e-bay ( 1 maroon and 1 cream) and made 1 good working bike.
I got one of these when I was 13 too. Sure wish I could see one in person again.

Yes, this is a 60's model. I grew up with my stepfather riding me around on his in the 80's. His is exactly like this one. Wow! Memory lane..

Super video! I am now 72 and I got my first one at 12, I paid $37.00 for mine used in great shape!
Nice, I prefer the allstate motorcycles over the moped's and scooters, and I can appreciate these

Hello Keith, I'm a Dutchman living in Bavaria Germany and interested on Puch, therefore I was looking on your UA-cam article.

I would really love to know what this is worth? I just found one, find me on Facebook, Pam Nelson Durango Colorado, thx
I'd like to know what a 1963 model is worth. Because I have one, in excellent original condition, with the original title.
