That ending "it's goodnight from him and it's goodnight from me".....ah brilliant, one of your best, you both never fail to make me smile, thank you for that. Gosh...... I'm thinking Cunard might be worth a go now. Excellent video as always 👍
Thanks Victor, glad it made you smile lol! Cunard are fabulous, we are glad we tried them, and looking forward to seeing what QM2 is like in a few weeks time too! 😀
Those dancers were on when I cruised in November 2021. I had a couple of ballroom lessons with him. They were very nice. They got engaged that cruise. I love the quizzes!
You two are always so funny! 🤣🤣 I'm so glad you're loving Cunard as much as I do. It always amazes me when people have said Cunard is stuffy, boring and for old people, it's often said by people who have never cruised with them. I love the wide variety of live entertainment in the diverse venues. The ballroom is stunning and I love the pianist in The Commodore Club. The Golden Lion is like a real pub, full of atmosphere and often difficult to get a table, it's so popular and you can boogie the night away in The Yacht club prior to your midnight feast. What's not to like!
Brilliant ! I would be clicking my fingers along to the band as well as i picked up under my skin being played, My favorite Sinatra song ever! It really does look so nice on Cunard, You are selling it very well to the Cunard virgins out here, It looks like a fun Ship, Not stuffy at all.
Just come back from our 12-night cruise on the QE, so everywhere you showed looks very familiar. They were showing the Australian Open in the Garden Lounge. We really enjoyed the gala evenings. It was great to see people making the effort and dressed up. The menu you had on your B&W Gala night was similar to the one we had on our penultimate evening. The Beef Wellington and Venison were both delicious. We said downstairs but we weren't assigned to the same table for the cruise. We thought it was odd but didn't think to ask why or to request. It looked like it was the same for other people, too. The Top Hat show was fantastic! Yes, a simple plot, though Shakespeare used it, too, but the singing and dancing was superb. I thought The Outsider was a very strange musical, though. I agree there were a lot of music, but it was the same acts playing at different venues and it got a bit repetitive, as least for the first 3 or 4 days. Then they had other acts and it got more interesting. The Big Band was wonderful and I wish they would have more than just one for the whole 12 nights. Sadly we didn't have any dance demo. We had fewer than 1000 passengers onboard, so none of the venues was very busy, and there wasn't much of an atmosphere, except fro the Big Band Night. It was still a fun cruise all the same.
We went on the same cruise (September 2021?) to Liverpool, I loved the Top Hat show! The tap dancing was awesome! Thanks for the video - I spent most of it trying to see if we were in the background!
Very enjoyable. You two lovely folks are such a pleasure to watch. Relaxed, no clickbait ever :) Paul, lol- you interrupted the day to watch Spurs? I can understand such action if it were ManU 😝 The bingo looked fun, too bad you didn't win. Our biggest takeaway was your mentioning a few times about Q.E. not being stuffy, and your surprise about it. I expected tradition, but love the fact that one can party a bit over several venues if desired. Good segment!
Afternoon tea used to be served in the ballroom which has changed since the restart, I hope it returns to the ballroom as it really makes a difference to the atmosphere.
Thanks for another cracking Cunard video Paul and Carole 😀 Dinner in the Britannia restaurant looks fantastic! And you both look rather splendid and sophisticated in your black and white night attire 😍 It is amazing how much Cunard put on in terms of entertainment! We had the same preconceptions blown away when we sailed on QM2 pre-Covid, and can't wait to get back on a Cunard ship 😊
We did QMII to NY in December. Its was fun but it was a bit stuffy. We did Queens Grill so was premium but everywhere was harpists, pianists, string quartets which for 7 days was wearing. Cunard is ace tho.
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel yes but the quality was uneven ... singer in the queens room was a shocker ... and there was a club band in the carinthia but it was saturday night under the plastic palmtrees ... I am 57. I grew up with punk. It was a bit carpet slippers.,
Great video (as always)…. Question, around minutes 14-15 when you are talking about the fun evening, is the background music one can hear coming from upstairs on the deck? If so, was it as annoying as it seems on the vlog? Cheers, James and Domi
Lovely vlog. We have been on all 3 queens and our favourite is Victoria. Our next Cunard cruise will be our 12th and when Covid has ‘done one' we will be booking as we have credit waiting for us. Is there anything better than cruising!
Thank you! Oh really, we have been looking to see if we can squeeze in a Queen Victoria Voyage this year too. 12th that's impressive think we may be doing a lot more Cunard we really enjoyed out time on board!
Well on this 4 day cruise it was only in the Britannia..you will see our response in Episode 3....thankfully on our 10 day cruise before Christmas we enjoyed the Queens Room afternoon tea which was very special!
Cunard question for you. We are taking the Cunard cruise for many reasons, one is for ballroom dancing. Do they do the “American” waltz as well as the Viennese Waltz or just Viennese? We love to waltz but haven’t learned Viennese yet😳
Great videos, very useful! I have a quick question - on the QM Gala nights, what percentage of men wear a tuxedo in your opinion? Would a man in a regular navy suit look out of place?
There a quite a lot in a tux but you definitely wouldn’t look out of place in a smart suit. When my dad and brother came with us we got them some jazzy coloured waist coats with matching bow ties which they wore with a normal suit and they both looked fabulous
We do! We have been looking at Cunard's new itineraries and plan to fly to New York, spend some time there before cruising back to Southampton sometime in the summer next year. 😁
Maybe I missed this, but was this cruise taken in the past few months? I’m asking because of seeing many passengers with masks and a mention of Covid testing. I would hope in2024 this is no longer the case. We cancelled a Queen’s Grill transatlantic in late 2022 because these protocols were still in place. A mask with a ball gown just doesn’t work for us.
Do you watch the entertainment on board when you cruise? If so what's been your favourite?
yes. 2 production shows... then repeat 3 times. Guest performers are so so
HAHAHAH
Hahahah INDEED
What a joy to hear you were as happy as I can be.
😀

Oh thank you! That's lovely to hear! 😊
Glad your good old spurs where back at the Chippy...... getting battered 😁
The life and times of a Spurs fan! 🤣🤣
Paul I love your shirt at the start! I'm kind of hooked on you two's videos, btw.
Lol thanks! We are glad you are hooked! 🤣

@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel It really would be such fun. QV 24th July & QM 1st November.
Were just about to book. This has been very helpful. Thanks
Excellent we hope you enjoy Cunard as much as we do!
I’d never considered Cunard before watching your latest blog, it’s on the list now!! Another great series, thank you!
We didn't either and it really surprised us too. Glad we tried it as now have 2 more booked! 🤣

hi Paul and Carol you both look very smart.
Thank you Kieran! 😊

Afternoon tea used to be served in the ballroom which has changed since the restart, I hope it returns to the ballroom as it really makes a difference to the atmosphere.
We have since been back on Queen Elizabeth just before Christmas and pleased to say it is back and in the Queens Room and is a fabulous experience! 😀

4 day cruise Southampton to Hamburg 😃

by only going on one cruise line of only 3 ships you really limit your choice of destinations.
Good one folks. BTW, how was your High tea experience? Out of the three Queens, we enjoyed the Queen E the most…

Can two bottles of wine be brought on board the Elizabeth Cruises on any itinerary?
Yes two per cabin.
We are considering doing Transatlantic with Cunard from NYC next year. Do you have any plans for such a trip?
We do! We have been looking at Cunard's new itineraries and plan to fly to New York, spend some time there before cruising back to Southampton sometime in the summer next year. 😁
sorry another quick question was terminal covid testing easy ?
It was very easy.
Do you have any plans to go on Marella again?
We would love to, just need to find dates and an itinerary that suits!

What, you have to book afternoon tea? how inconvenient.
It was very easy to do.
