If you haven't passed through it or you are not passing through it. You won't understand what she is talking about. Most of us women are there or have been there. For people who can't pay for therapy, keep talking to yourself positively no matter how down you feel. Everything will be fine. 💪💪
True me i realised after surviving oxygen and Tested Anemia ,u feel ur mind is not focusing for God's sake only mature people and God can understand that situation
So me ryt now, just few days ago was telling myself I feel like I'm no longer me anymore a lot just change like am stock in one place because of motherhood, but I'm going to come out strong and better
For women with dreams or career, once you give birth and are forced to stay at home, you begin to feel useless. You can't just be your real self... I couldn't wait to go back to work after giving birth because I felt I was stagnant. I wasn't doing what I loved. I fully understand all she's saying although I wasn't depressed I just had a longing that I wanted to satisfy
True, that's exactly how I feel right now. I can't wait to start working again. I feel like I have lost myself this past couple of years. I can totally relate with her
Postpartum depression is such a big deal but often overlooked in our community. From the heavy tears, to sleep apnea episodes and just feeling so miserable, I think it’s high time we draw more attention to this.
This is the main reason for Omugwo in igboland, thats why we take it seriously, even your food is cooked differently, you dont just eat anyhow, you get the needed help while u heal postpartum, breastfeeding helps to release all the oxytocin to help your womb snap back.
I have been there and gradually finding my way out. God bless you for sharing your story with us. There are some issues you just don't know how to explain to anyone who hasn't experienced it, and this is one of them.
Very profound lesson here! Loosing oneself can lead to depression. I suffered same when I couldn’t do the very thing I love to do for a space of 2yrs. Thank God for His healing 🙏
Beautiful interview our own Dakore Akande. Thank God for bringing you out of depression and making you a lovely wife and mother. Your marriage is blessed forever our Amazon. Thumbs up Chude, thank you for this exclusive interview. Warm regards from Blessing Ewuoso Abeokuta, Ogun State.
I experienced this 2different times for my 2kids. I struggled and came out of it with little help. As much as I would want to still have 1more child the trauma of that experience is still in there and I don't want to do that again. I pray for any1 going through this at the moment that may God see you through it and pls speak out, help might be soo close than you think
It also happened to me,and my case is was so bad, getting married relocating to another state, trying to gain balanced stopped what i was doinh be4 marriage had a baby had twice lost one staying with one was very thankful to God for not leaving empty handed, inlaws pressure it was terrible, i lost my look confidence i almost want to run out of the marriage. Infact will tell the full story some day hopefully on this show. But then again am not a celebrity 😅
God Bless You Beautiful Dakore because this will probably save many Mothers, also because YOU deserve all the blessings and well being. 😘🤗Awareness of Vital Pivital moments💞
I have never had children but I slipped into depression after I had a surgery for an appendix removal. I didn't know that I had to undergo counseling so I could understand what was happening to my body.
Good to have this conversation. African women may find themselves experiencing post partum depression but surrounded by family who are not aware of what the condition is. These traditionalists may try to ‘snap’ you out of it or they may lose patience and get upset with you. Knowledge is power. Speak to your healthcare provider or a trusted loved one about how you are feeling. You are not going crazy, PPD is a real medical condition. Don’t keep it to yourself. Even just acknowledging that your body has gone through some major changes to create another human and that you need care to recover can help as you will be giving yourself permission to drop your Superwoman cape and heal. Talking about it with experienced mothers or healthcare professionals can lighten the burden while your body and mind recover. It’s like having a broken leg. If you don’t let it heal and keep standing on it, it may not heal well. If you give it the rest it needs, you help the recovery process. This too shall pass and your joy shall be renewed
Lovely interview, motherhood can be overwhelming. D is one of the dying breed of decent women in the industry...glad you're back to what you love doing...nothing lost.
I have 3 kids. I always look forward to the birth of my babiesbut after birth I always experience this sudden sadness which last for.a.couple of weeks.or months. I know its postpartum depression
Sorry to hear it. If you need someone to talk to who won't judge you and will help you out of the state you are in, please reach out to a coach or therapist. Talking about it will help you navigate through your emotions.
How are you doing now? I hope you have spoken to someone else mature about it and you are getting help. Also do more praise and worship it helps. Blessings. Just thought to comment. Don't be afraid at all. Get help, confide in someone trusted. Talk to God to help you.
4:17 is exactly how every person should keep feeling. Have a purpose. It’s true , everything with marriage n childbirth changes a woman , the return to ‘self’ is always challenging. I’ve been there 🤍
