I work for a landscaping company and we have hundreds of plants (such as bushes and trees) that we keep outdoors, in pots, on the ground year round. We simply leave the plants outside on weed barrier. The ground will provide enough heat for most of the winter, we just pack the pots close together and cover the exterior of the groups with straw and leaves to insulate them. Also water much less often. The water can damage the roots especially as it freezes, so you want to water just enough to keep the plants alive. Rather than watering on a daily routine, manually water as the plants need. You might loose a couple plants here and there, but that's just a natural part of dealing with plants. As long as they're in the correct sized pots and the correct precautions are taken, your plants will live just fine
Plants do not generate a heat - that's correct. But we can protect them from freezing, from excessive cold for some time, e.g. overnight. They are going to cool down slower with thermoisolation than without it. So, it makes sense under certain conditions

I'm so glad you have made this point - I agree with this totally.
:)

This would be an interesting experiment. I doubt it will make a big difference in the climate I am in.
What it does do wrapping burlap is Protect from the wind . So wish you had said that atleast
In the main video I explain about putting pots in the shade & out of the wind :)
