Your nuts! If you've ever drifted before higher the horsepower the harder it is. They need more power because the sport is getting faster. Flooring it in a 240sx can only get you to go around a multi S-Curve only so fast.
that's the main reason for "grassroots" events, its so that people can have a shot in there cheap 240sx to show off their skills to get noticed by the bigger companies
Can someone explain me WHY those professional drift cars, made a lot of smoke, and me in my normal drifting car (corolla swap 4age) didn't do it? ... please, i wanna smoke like them :D
FD is the ultimate top competition in drifitng, why should there be hp limitation.. yeah it could be good for low budget drifters, but they should compete in a lower class.. putting hp limitations is on FD is like saying they should limit engine rpms in F1 to 10k just so that a low budget team could compete with their lowtech engines.. Let FD evolve to a higher level, just make sure it don gets to a level where its as unsafe as Group B was, then it will just get shut down...
Formula D is cool but I find that these drivers only benefit from sponsorships and high powered machines pushing 600+ hp making it easier for the. With that I really doubt they can perform as well as the street drifters using 200-300 hp cars on smaller more narrow roads.
They should put a 500hp limit on Formula Drift. Get some grass roots limitations. Thumbs up if you agree. Also, if you think this comment is lame, go watch Keep Drifting Fun here on UA-cam.

Most of these drivers are running a 295 tire with around 800 horsepower. More grip and power = more smoke.
