thanks for your transparency in your videos, especially when it comes to social work! i just started my first semester as a human services major at my cc. glad you stuck around, gave social work your all, and decided to share your experience with us as well! it really helps a lot.
I'm getting ready to study for the LMSW. I must say I have been watching many video's on Licensing, and your video is by far the best! I love your energy, optimism and drive. So many take aways in this video! An enormous Thank you!
This is great advice. Thank you so much for sharing. I agree with these test.... They really don't say a lot about your worth or how well you will be in the field out there working.
I truly appreciate you for your transparency taking the ASW exam. I’m in my final year in my MSW program and will be for sure utilizing the Dan Apgar you recommended. God bless :)
How can anyone say that social work is a waste of time when it is an essential field and there are so many job opportunities?! Not to mention the fact that you are enriching the lives of others!
Thanks so much for this video Yeonni! I just started my last semester of my MSW program and I am hoping to take my LCSW exam shortly after I graduate in May. We talked a little about licensure in my seminar class and I feel like I've had so many logistical questions, that are slowly starting to get answered. I am trying to subside my anxiety about the test though because I know there are so many resources out there! When you passed the exam, how long did it take for your physical license to come in? Do you have to wait for that before you can begin a job that needs a license or are you good once you pass the exam?
Its to make money Atleast in nyc Almost everything you need a “license” for even to become a local security guard A basic security guard has to spend like $500+ jus for a license Why? Because thats money to the state lol A card makes no difference
Right, I was confused when I heard in America they have to take a standardised exam for nearly everything in order to register or get the license for a particular subject/job.
Question Please You have so MANY videos Which video is the one where you discuss ....why you changed you career from social work to something else?? Thanks!
You've mentioned that once a person gets a license, it can be used in other states. But ..... Unless the rules have changed, I've been told by SW friends (who've taken the exam) that the license earned in Texas was invalid in the state where they moved afterward. 🤔🤔
Hi I think you misunderstood. You can use your license test score in other states, you cannot use the license itself (which is a separate identity that you must sign up for) in other states
What type of questions are on the test are they more essay questions or true-false questions, are they question long worded with explanations questions
@@SethSonenthal I think she said that because she was considering doing her PhD in clinical psychology, instead of a PhD in Sowk or a lcsw. And her current job I guess gives her that experience/ opportunity.
thank you for this!!! i’m prepping to take my LMSW at the moment 🤎✨

Thank you! Great advice. I failed the first time but I am determined to pass next time. I will "eat the book". I love that

Hi thank you. I am currently studying for the exam. I also know and struggle with working for what I want.

This is so interesting. I am from the UK and we don't have a standardised exam/test that we have to take to be registered.

What type of questions are on the test are they more essay questions or true-false questions, are they question long worded with explanations questions
How much did it cost to take the exam?
What is the time frame when taking the exam?
Is the exam broken into sections?
Thank you!
What about for LCSW?
Also, is the exam multiple choice or essay?
So excited for this video :) 💓
Hii! Yay hope it's helpful! Leave me any more questions if they come up! 🤎✨
@@hi.yeonni it was very helpful, thank you so much.
Loved this video! Can you make one about becoming licensed on CA?
Hi ~ Does anyone knows the difference between welfare state and state welfare?
Did you just take the exam?
She said she took it in spring of 2018, while she was still in school.
@@temiscorner3867 thanks, I was just curious because she mentioned in a couple videos back that she was getting out of social work.
@@SethSonenthal I think she said that because she was considering doing her PhD in clinical psychology, instead of a PhD in Sowk or a lcsw. And her current job I guess gives her that experience/ opportunity.
@@SethSonenthal you’re welcome.
@@temiscorner3867 thanks for that, I probably should of listened to her entire UA-cam on that topic, I am doing too much multi-tasking!
