For me I got my bird when he was 11 weeks old. I would talk to him. Always telling him to step up and I would train him and praise him saying Good boy and eventually over time he begin to repeat it and Mimic the words I say. Willow laughs, sneezes, gives kisses, fetches, knows target training, handshakes, plays basketball Willow says hi, stop, your so cute, good boy, baby, money, bacon pancakes, Quaker, Quaker parrot and he says a nickname I call him. I just talk to him and include him in everything
He also says peekaboo
Hi, did he immediately start talking at 11 weeks? My Bumi is not 11 weeks and I am curious if he will start mimicking.
I have a blue Indian ringneck parakeet that is two years old. I started talking to it the day I got it home. He says several things. I did want a bird that could talk, but I was willing to keep him if he didn’t. He’s full of antics and very playful, and we love him.
Your Quaker singing “bacon pancake”makes me laugh every time. Tiki is adorable and my bird has now come to think that his name is Tiki.
His name is Blu.

Nice presentation 🙂 My little green chicken turned 15 this year. He used to talk when he was
young so I know he can and he certainly understands more than he has ever spoken but he just chooses not to, or rarely ever speaks. He has had the trauma of losing his mate a few years ago. I have had only him alone for several years but recently got a cockatiel. Zanzibar wants to be friends with him so bad but the ‘tiel is dealing with the loss of his former person and is pretty withdrawn. I hope one day they can be buddies.
I am getting a green quaker soon. Just waiting on eggs to hatch and weaning. I'm so excited ans have been watching and reading so much to try to know as much as possible

Hi, you are so right. I always say that a lot of attention and patience does wonders. Of course a lot of love to. I have a Caique that talks al lot and whissels the Adams Family themesong. They are not known for doing that.

Becareful what you wish for. LOL . I have 2 macaws and a quaker. All of them talk. I am the 2nd home for all of them. My harlequin said 2 things when I got her. Her name and hi. Now She will not be quiet....LMAO. I lost count of the number of things she says, but whoa nelly. From the "i don't wanna die" when she doesn't want to try something new to " get out of my room" while slamming her cage door when she is mad at me. She is only 3 and it is like having a teenager. The others learn from her sooooooo....its is definitely a riot in my house.

I just got a quaker this is one day and a half now! He is a year old and has had two different owners before me. I've had experience only with a budgie we weren't that close though he was able to fly! Any advice on what I should do? How long before he will really be comfortable and tamed? I enjoy your videos thank you!
When you would have your bird just hanging out on the couch or where ever, what do you do about the poops? do you like clean it right away? how if its on fabric? or do you come back to it later?
