Sir normally we are using in English, will or shall for future tense but in German only werden is enough for I and we

Why will the verb remain in infinitive inspite of Ich, Du or Wir? Why is Ich were tee trinke wrong?
The table for werde runs similar to other modal verbs(konnen,sollen etc).Its just the verb werde which brings future tense to the sentence?
Is werde the only verb for future tense to be kept in mind for A1?
