Dauphin Island Avata 2 Range Test - Lessons Learned

After watching the ‪@PilotInstitute‬ facilitate an amazingly interesting range test in the desert on their Avata 2, I wanted to do my own. However, the only location out of harms way was the ocean. Thus, I grabbed my nerves of steel and set out for the adventure.
Lessons learned..
1. Don't mess around beforehand via checking out the island...just do the range test.
2. Oil rigs have so much interference, it makes my skin crawl.
3. Breath and blink.
4. What's the worst thing that could happen? There's no Coast Guard running that late..so I either loose it to the sea or a bird grabs the drone.
All in all, it was an amazing flight. One of which, I could have gotten another 4,000 ft. out of...but oh well.
