Since 1 year I had 3 LCR 950s and 2 Mt40 surrounds, 1 v12+ subwoofer with Emotiva basx3 power unit and AVR Marantz 7015 in my living room, it's just fantastic, what a brand I love!!
I am still rocking Miller & Kreisel S-150THX 5 ch in my new theater i am building. Added MP150 for my side surrounds. Still sticking with my tripole surrounds for rears for now, and added IC95s as 4 top Atmos channels.
@@DavidSusiloUnscripted I hear the revel are nice. I wish more manufacturers would make Atmos speakers with a much greater angle similar to what Triad does. It helps with imaging. I think IC95s tweeter adjust to a maximum of 15°.
As a Theater Buff myself, make sure Every year to apply Mink Oil in All Surround Woofers. Makes them sound great & prevents replacing the woofers, of course if the speakers are worth it. Great video.......!!!
@Laissez_Faire in theory, if it is rubber and you never expose it to sunlight it should last forever. I’m planning to use the mink oil or rubber maintainer just because of “just in case” as these speakers my end-game speakers.
Will you ever consider upgrading to S300? I am considering the S150 5.2.4 setup but wondering if I need to look into S300 (don’t have a local dealer to audition neither)
My listening area will be 6m W x 4m D x 3m H (but the room is open back to the dinning area, so no back wall, full size of the space is double the listening area)....in you opinion, stick with S150? Appreciate your insight, your video gave me confidence to go with M&K...
Exactly! I don’t know why people calling them harsh to begin with. Of course compared to this latest version, as this version is the smoothest yet, the previous versions were “harsh”er in comparison.
@@TYGA909 I don’t really like Anthem processors. Their Anthem Room Correction is designed to be EQ priority which can make phase coherence to be “broken”. But using MCA525 with the MK Sound S150 os great. I just did a calibration using Marantz AV10 powered by MCA525 and MK Sound S150. The sound is phenomenal
It may be preferable for you and that’s great (I wish I can have THX Ultra speakers in ny house) but I prefer my home theatre to sound as close as possible as the mixing and mastering studios. That’s also the reason I built my home theatre to be a very similar to the size of most mastering studios too.
I did review it a couple of years ago for a magazine I wrote for. I personally don’t like it as the crossover point is at 100 Hz making the subwoofer location very detectable.
I have a mail from ken kreisel how is telling the s5000 is used for greating dolby digital and used for remixing star wars 4 5 6 I can't send the screen shot of the mail if you whant it send me your mail
Ken also said the s5000 is still in a league of its own I hade the s150 the sound is really different not in any way like the s5000 the s5000 is more like the perlisten 5 series

Nice! I’m contemplating in changing my Revel C263 to MK IC95. Can’t decide whether I should change it or leave it as is with the Revel.

Thank you for viewing and the suggestion. I will look into Mink Oil.
Mink oil for what?
For the rubber surrounds of the speakers.
@@DavidSusiloUnscriptedinteresting. Well, I still have my studio s150p from late 90s and rubber surrounds still look good.

congrats 🎉fantastic speakers i finally find some MP7 to upgrade my surroundings

Unless I move to a larger house, I wont be upgrading to the 300. The 300 is designed for a larger room.

@sleeutube yes. This is still within the parameters for the S150. My room is about the same as yours but mine is enclosed.
What do you think S300 movie performance?
They are as good as the 150 sound quality. The difference is only in how loud it can play.
Can you speak to the various amps you've used with the M&K THX series system? They seem to like to eat lesser AV amps.
I’ve used Parasound amps, Pioneer receiver’s internal amp and Marantz MA500 monoblock from 25 years ago. They all perform well with these speakers.
They don't they are all relatively easy to drive
Where did you get the Lucasfilm THX pillow covers? Nice!
I special ordered it from a company in Singapore but unfortunately they went out of business due to covid. :(
I am using the M&K 750ll for my home theater 🎭 the are great
Nice!!!
did you use the same speaker for the center channel ? it looks different
They are all S150 speakers
Harsh M&K’s? Lol. No way. They are super smooth and detailed.

Where did you purchase the M&k speakers? What website sells them?
You need to go to your local dealer. MK Sound doesn’t sell online.
What do you think of pairing these with anthem avm70 and mca525?

great setup but S300 is another level I have Klipsch Thx-5000 LCR they sound better than Mk&Sound S150

Yes. Much improved upon the original release

No. I only heard their first gen and this one. But even that the current gen’s treble is noce and smooth.
Not true
The furst thx wass the M&K sound s5000 still the best mk much better then the s150
I’m unsure about that. As far as I can remember the studios were using the S150 and not S5000. I may be wrong though.
