That's what made Flair such a great champion. Before he trash his opponent, he makes you think and feel that they're legitimate contenders for his belt. He knew how to put over like no other.
"Nobody will determine my destiny in this sport but me. So pal bury me or do nothing at all." when is the last time you heard greatness like that come out of a wrestlers mouth in a promo for live telecast?
"So pal, bury me, or do nothing at all!". How can you top that? Every wrestler in the business today, should be FORCED to watch this promo. This is classic Flair, and it just doesn't get any better than that!
Flair's greatness and the reason why professional wrestling today is completely trash is that when you're watching this and you're watching him he sounds completely real as if there is a real conflict between him and Luger and they're going to have a real wrestling match. This intensity is real. He's not talkin like a performer but like a fighter.
"Denoted by the fact......" Imagine a wrestler spontaneously using that language during a promo today. Flair was KING. Period. "Nobody will determine my destiny in this sport but me." Referring to it with 100% intensity and sincerity as a Sport. Forget Hogan. He was a aesthetic gimmick. Flair is all charisma and talent.
JimmyJam1125 ur comments regarding Ric Flair and his amazing promos are all spot on, and I agree w you 100%. Nice to see a fellow Ric Flair fan that appreciates his greatness, contribution, and self-sacrifice to the sport so that we as fans could be entertained. Frankly, I'm speechless...
The benefit of UA-cam has exposed a new generation and reminded another of the greatness of a live unscripted wrestling promo and particularly those of the Naitch himself, Ric Flair. I never forgot his epic greatness, but when you're 12 years old and you see Flair, Dusty, Blanchard & Anderson cut world class promos EVERY weekend on TBS & the syndicated shows you can take it for granted. I ceased to "expect" it when shortly after the Attitude era no one spoke from the heart anymore and promos became embarrassing. NWA/WCW wasn't the only gold flowing, because every Monday on USA I'd stay up late watching Prime Time Wrestling, seeing Savage, Roberts, DiBiase and I'll give Hogan & Warrior their due, all guys who could TALK rings around the boys today. But as Flair says here, the bottom line, the Pinnacle, was always a Flair promo, no doubt about it... performance art of a high order.
Awesome. From beginning to end. Comes off as 100% sincere and 100% intense. Today's stars could film that 100 times, and never would it come out half as good.
There is not a professional wrestler alive today who can execute a promo like that even if they spent 5 years trying. When he comes to being in front of a microphone and a television camera, there is Ric Flair and then everybody else. He was just that good in his prime
If u are a ric flair mark .This is one of flairs greatest promo. His intensity in this promo was off the charts, and when he rips the bandad of that little trickle of blood ,just booked that match..Awesome...😎😎😎😎🔥🔥🔥🔥
I WiSH Vince Give Ole Anderson a SIGNIFICANT SPOT IN THE WWE BECAUSE HE IS THE TREE OF WRESTLING HE IS SO KNOWLEDGEABLE AND GIFTED AND ALSO GORGEOUS JIMMY GARVIN ALONG WITH HANDS OF STONE RONNIE GARVIN ALONG WITH BOOGIE THE WOOGOE VALIANT AND THE RAGING BULL ALONG WITH THE ROCKIN ROLL EXPRESS. Vince should See ALL of These Guys are Useful and would do The WWE GOOD.
I've been commenting on it for years as you can see in this comments section and I've never understood why it doesn't have half a million to a million views. It is quite simply one of his best
It is arguably his best promo...ever. The non comedic type. It's flair selling the paper view and putting over his opponent with an intensity like nobody else.
@zebra64 Amen To That Hey WWE and TNA Lockerooms... Take Notes Boys and Girls, cause it doesnt get ANY better than this, like or not, learn to love it cause it STILL the best thing going today, WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
“All that muscle , all that talk, all physical ability is secondary. You my friend have to dig deep down inside and show you are more man than I am. You got to clear that gut of butterflies and rise to the occasion” ua-cam.com/video/3fGmW6LTk68/v-deo.html
Ric Flair could put over a broomstick. Greatest of all time.
Shit, he’s so good HALF of us would put money on the broomstick.
@@tylerbushong3452 but we'd ALL put money down for a ticket.
This is Promo GOLD. Flair hypes Luger as a threat. Then commences in verbally disposing of the man. The GREATEST.
AdrianMit5 Right. Nobody ever did it, much less did it better. Long Live Ric Flair!
That's what made Flair such a great champion. Before he trash his opponent, he makes you think and feel that they're legitimate contenders for his belt. He knew how to put over like no other.
Tbt, this is how the USA is dealing with China today!
"Nobody will determine my destiny in this sport but me. So pal bury me or do nothing at all." when is the last time you heard greatness like that come out of a wrestlers mouth in a promo for live telecast?
J.R. DABABNEH every time u think he's reached the crescendo he takes it to another level
"Bury me, or do nothing at all!" My new moto. Thank you Flair.
The best promos ever there can never be another
"So pal, bury me, or do nothing at all!".
How can you top that?
Every wrestler in the business today, should be FORCED to watch this promo. This is classic Flair, and it just doesn't get any better than that!
King in and out of the Ring
This got to be his best promo besides golden spoon
I Like The One About Spending More Money On Spilled Liquor Than Buddy Landell Made 😄😄😄
The intensity in his voice is real.
Lynn Phillips but it's not and that's what makes them the all-time greatest. Nobody ever sold their character better than the Nature Boy.
@@JimmyJam1125 macho man was pretty good too
"I know I'm the Best. I've paid the price."

Agreed he's also always putting over the importance of WINNING and WINNING THE BELT and what the belt symbolizes which in turn puts over the company.
That's because he doesn't have someone who never took a bump writing his script for him
"Denoted by the fact......" Imagine a wrestler spontaneously using that language during a promo today. Flair was KING. Period. "Nobody will determine my destiny in this sport but me." The guy tore off he bandage and bled just to add to the promo. 80s Flair was the best!

RIC FLAIR WHOOOOA THE MAN IN THE RING WHOOA AND THE MAN OUT-SIDE THE RING WHOOOOA
The undisputed Master of the Mic. Flair buries everyone on top today; in ring and out....
Without a doubt the most electrifying speaker in the history of professional wrestling. There isn't even really a close second.
RiC FLAIR IS AMAZING
Macho man was a pretty good speaker/ entertainer too
Roddy Piper up there
TELL 'EM, FLAIR! SPACE MOUNTAIN! OLDEST RIDE! LONGEST LINE! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!
"Bury me or do nothing at all"! Genius!
That is a timeless ric flair promo...
Awesome. From beginning to end. Comes off as 100% sincere and 100% intense. Today's stars could film that 100 times, and never would it come out half as good.
it's 4:45 am, and I'm up watching reruns of the best in the business cut a promo. I think that makes me officially addicted.
Was doing likewise this morning too
Nature Boy Ric Flair # 1 on my all time list
Removing the band aid, then the cut starts bleeding. That is classic! They don't make em like that anymore!
I think he could just bleed on command from that permanent gash on his forehead.
HE TRULY IS THE GOD OF WRESTLING NO QUESTIONS ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely. There's The Man and following way behind, is anyone else.
lasprince Jake The Snake Roberts was up there as well
Jake had the mic skills and psychology, but wasn't the complete package like Ric. Jake was great, but not the best.
Jake had a great gimmick but no comparison in showmanship and promo excitement.
I agree
He wasn't just the champ on a local level, See NWA Traveling Worlds Heavyweight Wrestling Champion!!!!!
Flair quoted Dusty Rhodes 2x in this promo. I never would've believed...
Simply the best promoter of professional wrestling there ever was. The man knew how to make people buy tickets.
I've always been a Ric Flair fan but I love Charlotte Flair she's mine and my queen
Flair is The King of Wrestling! They should name it after him.
The good old days.
Blood is something Southern wrestling sure felt comfortable with airing back in the day, at least in all the time Flair bleed on television.
If u are a ric flair mark .This is one of flairs greatest promo. His intensity in this promo was off the charts, and when he rips the bandad of that little trickle of blood ,just booked that match..Awesome...😎😎😎😎🔥🔥🔥🔥
Luger don't blow any smoke my way pal. I know I'm the best, I paid the price!
RIC SPEAKS THE TRUTH THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH🤙 🤙🤙 🤙🤙
Ric Flair single handedly brought all of the wrestling promotions together to form the future. He was truly ahead of his time
On a site that has 100+ remarkable Ric Flair promos, this might be tops. Flair at his best here.
Ole said in a interview he insulted Vince and his wife to their faces and Vince told him you'll never work in this business again.
This just in....Flair is nuts!
The dopest promo I’ve ever seen in my life.
I've been commenting on it for years as you can see in this comments section and I've never understood why it doesn't have half a million to a million views. It is quite simply one of his best
Undoubtedly the best promo.

Love all your comments, JJ -- All of them the truth!!
It is arguably his best promo...ever. The non comedic type. It's flair selling the paper view and putting over his opponent with an intensity like nobody else.

Nature Boy burned 1500 calories doing this promo.
