Thank you for posting this video. It brought back so many memories. This was my absolute favorite thing about fiesta Texas when I was little. I remember pretty much going for this show all the time. It got to the point that I would sing the whole show with the cast. I even remember they would recognize the park goers that were would always go to the theme park to see the show.
Fun to see this :) I worked the ticket booths, lines and cleaned after these shows as a teenager for years! I knew the show by heart and the other kids working would all sing it in the foyer while they performed on stage. We had a good time!
I can guarantee that this was recorded year one. We went to the park for opening year. It was the only time I have ever been to the park. The recording was made over the mid summer months. We never traveled in the fall at that time as school would have been in issue and this was part of a 2 week trip. This Six Flags over Texas show video was taken that same week you will find on my sight. I will post other Fiesta video from that trip soon.
Well it HAS been ten years, but the blond playing the host, Tony Isenhour, is not the guy I originally cast in the show. I was also directing shows in Nashville and Myrtle Beach so perhaps they had cast him in an understudy role while I was away. He started working for Opryland as a featured clog dancer in a show called Country Music USA. Lately he has been working in Florida in shows down there. Glad you enjoyed the show voted BEST THEMEPARK SHOW IN AMERICA - 5 years.
I am glad you found the recording and that you enjoy it. I do have more footage of the park but it is of other shows. I have only been to the park one time and I had one camera battery. I was trying to record bits of what was the park over that day for my memories. I did not know the shows and what would be good or bad but just recorded some of several of the shows we saw. Sorry there is not more.
I really hope to get to the park next summer. I see they still do put quite a bit of budget to shows at this park. I hope you have seen my Dollywoodshows sight as well as looked at my KDFanPre91 sight on youtube. You will see how much I love park entertainment. I want a chance to go to the park and produce quality videos for the park to post and promote the entertainment they provide. Money can be tight since its so far from home. Thanks for all you did to provide great shows!
I hate to say it, but I don't think this is the first year. There are several people in this cast who were not in the original one. I know - I wrote and directed the show. This must be about 1994 or 95... or perhaps this was in the Fall when they had subs in the show, but this is definitely not the original cast.
