    Excellent tutorial . Visually , if you used 2 different coloured lines , it would be even more excellent .

    Bought this tool 3y ago and love it for main line braid to mono, works great. Then tried mono to mono nail knot cuz I was short on reel line with hesitation but man I was pleasantly surprised. Tool and knot can be trusted if wetted before cinching

    Nice instructive video knot tool and one of the few with well manicured fingernails. This matters for aesthetic instruction.

    This is to complicated for just joining line. Uni is faster

    can i cut the remaining line tip all the way to the minimal? will the knot give way as the tip is too short?

    • @fishmadpro7210
      @fishmadpro7210  3 роки тому

      Hello. I always try to cut off as much of the line after the completion and the knot still holds pretty well! Hope that answers your question.

    How does this compare to the tie fast? It seems smaller and less capable of using for tying to lures/flys/hooks

    • @fishmadpro7210
      @fishmadpro7210  Рік тому

      Hey. With a bit of practice, you'll be able to tie hooks and knots in no time, but ask yourself: "Do you really need this tool?" If the answer is no, keep on looking for the one, which fits your needs...

      @@fishmadpro7210 thanks for the response. Well.. would you recommend this for non fly lines? Such as lightweight 4-8lb mono leader 10lb braid?

    • @fishmadpro7210
      @fishmadpro7210  Рік тому

      I've used this tool with 8lb mono while tying hooks, line to line, and it worked pretty well for me...

    LOOKS LIKE A SIMPLE WAY OR TYING THE BLOOD KNOT

    • @fishmadpro7210

      You mean ' looks like a simple way to tie a double nail knot' righttt?

    • @wazkeating3496
      @wazkeating3496 2 роки тому

      A blood knot has both tag ends in the middle , perpendicular to each other, which helps keep the knot clean, this double nail knot has the tag ends on both ends so if there is gunk in the water, you'll collect it. Nothing against this knot, it's just not a 'blood knot' . Some days I am lazy and/or the diameter's are too different (see 'lazy')... And nothing is easier or quicker than a 'double surgeons knot' the slight kink is not frequently an issue for me

    I've never seen a back to back nail knot (if this is what it is?); maybe it's the uni-knot shown differently. I normally tie, without the tool, the triple surgeon or the b2b uni-knot (mostly the latter). Interesting...

      The triple surgeon or any surgeon is bulky an will never go through your guides with a fish on

    A much easier and faster knot to tie two lines together, as shown in this video, is the double uni knot. The nail knot is better for tying dacron or leader to fly line with one single knot and NOT tying two nail knots and sliding them together. Also, no tool is needed for the double uni

  • @blahahbly11
    @blahahbly11 3 роки тому

    so.....basically just a double uni knot (which is very easy to make w/out tools). Might want to try the Alberto Knot (stronger and just as easy w/out tools).
