Being inside the bicycle industry for a very long time I got to know his son Francisco Quinn very well as he was a bicycle nut. Francisco looked just like his father and constantly lived under his father's shadow. One time he wanted to come with me to Taiwan to visit the bicycle companies I was working with. Somehow the owners of these big bike factories caught wind Francisco was coming with me and every time we arrived at a factory we were met with Grand Fanfare as to my surprise most all of these big Taiwan factory owners in their 50s & 60s were huge fans of Anthony Quinn. Franciso & I went back to Taiwan a couple more times as he really enjoyed Taiwan and its people. I learned a lot about his father & family during those long flights to Asia. One thing I learned about Francisco is he hated baseball & baseball players but was crazy about Soccer. I was shocked & cried for some time when my friend in LA called to tell me Francisco suddenly died of a massive heart attack. I miss him.
Anthony Quinn is one of a kind. A superb actor. What makes him a special human being is his PASSION! With that ingredient, anything is possible. He really is quite unique.
La Strada and Zorba the Greek are two of the best films ever made, not only for the stories but directly attributable to the mesmerizing performances of Anthony Quinn. He did it again in Lawrence of Arabia. He was utterly magnetic and attractive. Nobody like him, before or since.
I was a teenager when I saw Anthony Quinn in "A Walk in the Clouds" and absolutely fell in LOVE! From there I went back to his earlier works and was just completely blown away. To see and hear him again through this documentary brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, Mr. Quinn, for your wonderful body of work and contribution to humankind ❤
Among the GREATEST MEN AND ACTORS in the movies. He made you believe the character NO MATTER WHAT THE PART OR WHO HE WAS. Zorrba the Greek was a part made for such a man as him. Truly a FANTASTIC PERSON AND ACTOR.

Every time he says something, I can't help but smile and admire him. I haven't seen all of his movies, but I dare say that I've never seen a movie with him in it where he didn't immediately make it worth watching.
Tony Quinn is a screen legend... and so often overlooked. He starred in some of the most riveting and iconic roles in Hollywood, even television. He was a force of nature. An incredible performer, all around. A great fine artist, too.
The greatest 🌟 are the ones who had to give more of themselves than many others. That what gain them a place in history. Anthony Quinn was one of the best.
What a GREAT actor!! The character portrayals of his many roles were exceptional... In Zorba, Lawrence of Arabia, The Guns of Navarone, Barrabas, his television role in Requiem For A Heavyweight, and so many, many more. A true Hollywood icon. I always felt he would have been a great 'Don Corleone'.

Back in the 1990s I was showing my bronzes at a gallery in the Forum, in Caesars at Las Vegas Nevada. Anthony Quinn displayed his work there as well.. He was a hell of an artist. I was, just for fun, creating a bust of Quinn from a portrait of him on the poster, advertising a one man show, he was going to have at the gallery in 2 months.. The gallery asked me to get it cast into bronze so they could present him with it at a dinner in his honor at Caesars the first night of his show. I got to present Anthony Quinn that finished bronze bust.. He loved it and hugged me in gratitude.. I'll never ever forget that incredible night.. I mean, he is a legend..
Who would have known? Anthony Quinn is one of America's most authentic actors, bar none!!! Yes, Gregory Peck, Kirk Douglas, etc. etc. were great actors, but Anthony's roots made him more authentic. I could not see anyone but Anthony play the part of the strong man in "La Strada." This is true of all the parts Anthony played through the years. No one else could play the roles. Coming from nothingness, Anthony worked for the fame and power he achieved and this documentary made it clear that this man deserves more respect than he has gotten. It is easy to forget this and accept the myriad roles this man has played as just good! Anthony was great in everything he did and, thanks to this documentary, one can see just how really great he was! Thank you!!!
Mr. Q. was and will always be a classic. I don't know but, I like rough, different, real. Everyone doesn't have to look like a doll. We're all unique, that's always a great thing.
The chance of the world ever seeing the likes of Quinn or any of the "old school" actors that could actually act again are slim to none. The depth in which they took their craft and the passion for which they gave themselves in a part will never be equaled or repeated again. There may be an exception here and there, but for the most part history will not repeat itself in this category.
Apparently when Quinn got out of make up for a test run on Auda Abu Tai, David Lean took him for an Arab extra and said: tell Quinn we don't need him anymore, we'll cast this man for Auda!
I walked up the stairs, at The Louvre, saw this wonderful looking man, gray slacks and in a black turtleneck. Oh my good, saw him many times in NYC older, still gorgeous.
I was trying to pick one of his movies where he is the very best of, but I failed to mention one, simply because he is equally and mercilessly best in all of his movies.
He was always one of my favorite actors! I thought he was absolutely gorgeous and an amazing actor. So talented in his Art as well. I wish I could have met him and would have loved sitting down to hear his many stories. Thank God for movies to watch him always. Today, Javier Bardeem reminds me of him in his looks a little This video shows how much life men of his time lived. All of the hardships, depression, wars, working so many jobs just to make ends meet. They don't make men like that anymore. Old Hollywood can't ever be replaced. Actors like Anthony Quinn are no more. They gave everything to their craft and it shows.
There's no way to explain talent in just a few words. Talent is something that comes from within, from oneself. This man has it and it shows and we, the average Joe all over the world, can truly feel it. Thats Anthony Queen. Greetings from Toronto.
