Guys , we love to see this camaraderie among the old school bodybuilders. Bring different perspectives and cultures together. Keep this content coming.😂
Great Show today! I,m 1995 Mr.Canada and every topic you guys talked about really hit home. Awesome stuff! I love the fact everyone was so candid and didn’t sugar coat topics! Thanks to all of You!
Best show you have put on DJ! Love the stories. Miss the 90’s bodybuilding times. Crazy, fun; insane and fantastic times were had during this era of the sport. Never to be replicated. Thanks for sharing
Great show! The competitive knowledge & stories of these men is priceless. Much respect to you all. Body buildings greatest era. Lucky to have witnessed it. Fan for life!
Fly on the wall listening to these legends. This is what bodybuilding is. Old school , hard working, and colourful personalities. They all had their own look and they all had their own strengths . Kevin is on the money with the leveraging platform. The pros these days seem to work less. Maybe I’m showing my age. But the Athletes I look up to are the hardest working . Just as Tony Doherty is one of the hardest working promoters. Old school hardworking attitude will always win
Tony Freeman is one of the guys I've always looked up to. Just while his personality obviously but most of all his physique. Cuz it took until I was 225 lb to stop looking like a swimmer. Cuz I used to be almost six one. but jumping out of an airplane 120 times , getting blown up , shrapnel . All that good stuff. I'm going back surgeries and all this other stuff. Now I'm 5 ft 10 10 1/2 if I'm lucky. But I stuck at it and I didn't use a ton of stuff and never really have. But it's like years because I was still actively in second range of italian. So I started to do my 10 Mile runs and whatnot even at 245 250 pounds. But there's always that fine line of how my physique could look. I had to be practical. Now an idea when I was getting out I was going to get a little more aggressive with it and then compete but as I stated. Shrapnel was my weakness apparently. And then I thought okay maybe I'll just do classics and then I started getting injuries. But anyway all the rambles. Yeah Tony if you read this this thanks and then also thank you because I even followed you when you're out of the game. Knew what happened. And then I started getting more health conscious about food choices. 205 lb anywhere from 12 to 15% body fat year round using only 175 mg upwards of 200 every 10 days of testosterone just found my sweet spot.Tuesday I still have a desire to do like classic I would never be able to do open because of my rotator cuff her knee is ACL MCL shins right ankle you name it. But even then I knew I probably wouldn't place well. maybe I just want to do it for my experience or for experience just because. Still in the fence like I said because it would be have to be classic cuz I wouldn't be able to pack on the size nor do I want to push the dosages like I said I'm 41. But even his classic I don't know I guess my only saving grace would be like legs aren't that important they're important but genetically that's one of my gifts anyway this is one of the things that really didn't shrink too much through the years of not training. I still have 19 and 1/2 in calves and even when I was skinny down to 180 my forearms were still 17 look like f****** poppie.but my chest has a huge gap like that I believe his name is Austin Carr. But I don't know now I'm just rambling cuz I'm doing speech to text as I'm driving home from work well from the gym
I loved Toney’s physique and was a huge fan of his workout programs in the magazines when I was growing up. I saw him at a Europa show one time and he was huge. Massive.
Just FYI I would pay money each week to watch these episodes. Make as many as possible! As a 36 year old that has been part of the BBing world since he was 12 years old these are gold! I started following BBing in 1998. This is the absolute best podcast because it reminds me of being a young small teen reading about all of you and the contests. I always knew I didn’t have what it takes to be at your guys level so I didn’t focus all my effort into competing rather into learning. I literally never have had a “real job”. I owned a gym for nearly a decade and I have been coaching people for the past 15 years. My initial knowledge came from all you guys articles, every book out there, and seminars.
You sound like you’re a passionate guy about anything he likes! Keep it up, I hope your gym will bring you joy and happiness for many more decades! Keep lifting, stay healthy
Totally agree they holding clasic back ,they look so flat at times ,clasic comes from your structure suiting it for a start Shawn rohden had the best of both
These guys can all make much more money on social media than competing. They all make 10x what you guys got paid to compete just staying at home shooting social media. You don’t need a mr. olympia title to get rich and famous on social media. In fact some of the biggest social media people have never competed
Good content.as a 62 years of age Pro Bodybuilder I don’t train super heavy any more I may stop in a middle of my reps or change my exercises up often . This is easier on the body!
LOVE AT 101% ! But, i mean, all of you had been - at the same time-treats, runners up, rookies and winners by whom to watch at the game as a faceted jewel by multiple sides by each one as different model and inspiration you all have been for years, each one with its peculiarities and own top qualities ( if only my MD Magazine and all the other magazines I ‘ve collected and read over and over again, could speak for me …Oh Lord:what a big deep emotion to see all of you there…) DENNIS: I love this and what it means so THANKS FROM HEART for this long-deep breath of fresh air among all the trash we are compelled to assist 2day(…)BLEESINGS TO ALL OF YOU GUYS, May Lord watch and protect your paths, your commitment and professionalism. 🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝💯💯💯💯💯 [ ps. The Menace Podcast Show starring Dennis James. They've got Chris Cormier, Kevin Levrone and Tony Freeman stream live conversation each other by the way. That's all!
I agree Tony, there are loads of parasites even here in the USA. My girl & i do regular cleansing protocols throughout the year. Eosinophils on metabolic panel is just one possible indicator. Flukes must be treated, and are ubiquitous now especially in seafood
@@lajosnagy6356 He did health stuff? He should have mentioned it. This is an old school bodybuilding round table not a self promo for Tony’s business and how he has a story better than anyone else. Bad personality trait.
I'm almost 20 minutes in and everyone is throwing questions at him right now. The other 3 are regulars. Aaand, i want to hear Tony talk. Nobody has seen him
what i think would be great for the sport in total is for them to kinda pull a fast one on the classic physique class as a whole, raise the weight limit again, (and they have already done it a few times so it will be quite a large increase from the initial weight limits). Then one year drop the weight limit a bunch to near the beginning weight limit for classic. Now you will have a ton of classic guys that have gotten bigger, and they will have to make a choice, drop weight and give up muscle they have put on to mainitain that shape and look of classic, or try to continue mainintaining that look and move up into the open. Suddenly the open will have a bunch of new guys all with the looks everyone wants, and we will get to see how that does, that would be the most exciting bodybuilding season ever!
I disagree the whole why aren't top guys competing. Because they aren't paid. The promoters aren't paying. People aren't attending anymore. You know hard it is to get into Canada not to mention their strictest city of Toronto. It's nuts! Be honest guys
That's the third or fourth time I have heard Kevin tell that story about Joe telling him why he couldn't win the Mr. Olympia, and it still bothers me. It basically tells you Joe fixed the show so the guy he wanted to win would win!
1st he says he knows for a fact that he got the parasite from a photo shoot in dirty water and then a few minutes later he says he knows for a fact that he got his parasite from sushi
I don’t exactly know why but I like this podcast so much more than Fouads I think it’s because on Fouads they talk about so much stupid stuff not related to bodybuilding at all this podcast is all bodybuilding
I love when Dennis gets the old school Legends On 🔥
As a 90's bodybuilding fanatic, I enjoyed every minute of this podcast!!
