It might take at least 1 year because Z50ii is just released, they will not cannibalize the Z50ii as yet, they will try to give time for a threshold sale of Z50ii, then may be Z90 will release with Dual cards, Stacked CMOS, Expeed7 and bird eye autofocus system with improved autofocus system.
A flagship APSC is coming ? I'm not sure, as there are different ways of looking at it. I'm not convinced that Nikon is that interested in the APSC market. If so shouldn't we have seen a better offering in the Z glass. Yes the bigger body of the Z50 ii could be for a future DX model with IBIS. However is it large enough to accommodate dual memory cards and a larger battery ? Can't imagine a flagship with such a limited autonomy. If one needs the latest autofocus performance the next body up is the Z6iii, that's a huge gap in prices(USD 1500.- here). Do Nikon intend to produce a Z5ii ? That wouldn't bring an options for users who want a smaller body/lens combination or not having the budget for the more expensive FF glass. Unless they come up with a new sensor that would be great in crop mode ( 24-26 MP) to accommodate DX lenses. Many say that the Z50 was designed to bring in smart phone photographers wanting a real camera, hoping that some will upgrade to FF later. There is also an marketing view that 80% of those buying a Z50 + 2 kit lenses will never buy any additional glass.
Come on Nikon!! You can do it! The D500 wants to see its successor!!

It's a very good news. It does mean Z50 could become cheaper on the second hand market
