Hello. I've just got myself an Evercade (yesterday in fact) and have binge watched all of your videos on the cartridges available. Excellent videos, very informative, thank you. I picked a few games up with it and am looking to get one more for now. I'm leaning towards the Namco Collection 2 but I may wait to see your take on the Atari Lynx carts first. Thanks again. Glen
Great video Crow; I stumbled on your channel and have not only watched this about 4 times, but have watched all the rest of your evercade reviews and ordered an evercade. I’ve also learned about OEB Pete through your podcasts and subscribed to him - thanks for the great videos, it’s refreshing!
You really do a great job covering the Evercade. I think your reviews are the best on the internet when it comes to the Evercade. I just bought one of these for the renovation collection. I’m enjoying it, but it has some issues that you’re well aware of. Anyway, great video
Great great video and review even though i told myself months ago that i wasn't interested in this particular game system but after watching this video i might have second thoughts ✌
Nice video! Those rankings are totally reasonable. Haven't played all of 1-10, but I agree Tanzer (MegaCat) and Splatterhouse 2 & 3 (Namco 2) are really good games. Helpful guide to decide whether to pick up some of these I don't have.
Awesome channel, awesome Evercade videos. You turned me from a curious windowshopper to a fan. Just put my Evercade handheld and console orders on Amazon. Thanks man!!
An awesome top 10! My top 5 would be... 5- Technos Collection 1 4- Mega Cat Collection 1 3- Interplay Collection 1 2- Piko Interactive Collection 1 1- Namco Museum Collection 2
I hope they start to put even more content on each cartridge! Thank you for this I want the VS model! 🦍 Help me spread the word, A lot of people like me thought they didn’t want a PS5 because there’s no support for 1440p however I kept my Xbox one X so I can just run it through HDMI in right to my monitor. I’m looking for someone to research if this remains in 1440p or is anything lost in the pass thru? I’m not interested in any console that doesn’t support 1440p because that’s logical price point for a good gaming monitor 🏆 Also the Nintendo switch looks incredible using this method of display 💫
Really like the comment about the time you need for each cart, might be useful to have that as a metric somewhere. I bought my Evercade a few weeks back with Atari 1, Interplay 1, Namco 1, Lynx 1 and Piko 1, just in these 5 there seems to be massive commitment levels. Atari and Namco are easy to blast through in the main and get some high scores. Interplay, Lynx and Piko seem to have much higher time demands. I was going to pick up a few more Carts but the time needed to enjoy them will likely outstrip what I have. Very tempted by Mega Cats 1 and Tanglewood though… oh and maybe the VS premium pack for Christmas…
Earthworm Jim was a great game series from my childhood but I honestly don't remember most of it. (I also never owned it. I played on my friend's Sega consoles when I visited.) River City Ransom is so good! I completely missed Dig Dug 2. Didn't even know that existed. We have my old SNES at the bar in a little game lounge area and I still play Joe & Mac and Galaga pretty regularly on it. (Also a few staple games and one of my favorites: Tetris Attack.) I think if I got an Evercade, I'd get that Piko collection. That Dragon View game looks interesting.
The one thing everyone can agree on is the Evercade has a great selection of games for everyone. Agree 100% Pico collection number 1 for time. LOL I have around 13-14 hours into Brave Battle Sega and loving that RPG.
I really enjoy your evercade videos, you sure put a lot of work and passion into this console! I got the VS on Amazon yesterday, it was on sale. I love the thing already! I'm also looking at possibly getting the portable version, do you recommend having both? Is the screen very nice or does it look dated, say compared to a switch or switch OLED?
@@CrowContinuum have you compared the purple and white models? I've heard the purple one has a brighter, clearer screen but I can't confirm it anywhere online. I just seen a few UA-camrs mention it.
I just don't get the appeal. I love portable systems. However this is just playing 8 bit games and in some rare cases 16 bit. If it was able to play real arcade titles I would pick this up. They do have arcade titles but those are from the Nes system or Snes. Not the real arcade games.
@@CrowContinuum Thanks Crow. I have since watched all your videos and realized my naivety. You have got me really interested in this system, lol. Really hard to justify, but will prob cave. I look forward to future videos covering the newer collections. You have a great honest, approach in your reviews. Great perspective and information shared. I really find no faults in your videos, 5 for sure.
Personal top ten would be vastly different to yours but, as you say, that's what makes Evercade so great. 1) Namco 1 2) Atari 1 3) Data East 1 4) Piko 1 5) Namco 2 6) Technos 7) Mega Cat 8) Atari 2 9) Interplay 2 10) Interplay 1
I love Burnin Rubber for the C-64. Cool vid as always. Have you checked out Pico-8 yet? I've been playing the Circus Atari remake on the 7800. You would like it.
For me you consistently grade games one score higher than I would. Of all your “great” ranked games that I have played, I only agree with River City Ransom, Splatterhouse 2&3, Food Fight, and Yars Revenge. No hate though, I love your enthusiasm.
I think the way this list was setup is pretty unfair, because you should of also factored the overall amount of good over bad games in each collection. Even if you ranked them based on your overall review scores you gave them in previous videos, instead of how many good or great games they have, then this would actually be a genuine worst to best list. The Interplay collections are only at the bottom because they offer less games than the others, but that's mainly due to them being mostly 16 bit and having more value in terms of age and longevity. This also means that the Atari collections would be way too high ranked compared to where they should be, because they have a lot of games that are mostly from the Atari 2600, which are very simple and don't hold up so well these days. Speaking of which, I think you're overall review scores for future Evercade collections would benefit with a more straight forward approach. What I mean is instead of giving them an overall round off of all the scores you give each game in that collection, it should be a simple score of 1 - 5 based on your overall satisfaction with the collection. For example: 1. Didn't Like 2. Disappointed 3. Mixed 4. Liked 5. Loved You can still keep the original review scores for each game. I just think for the overall scores, you should keep it simple and straight to the point, since as you've already said in the last Evercade video, you were getting tired of rounding off the overall scores for each collection, so I just thought this might help a bit.
@@CrowContinuum Well maybe not fairness, but more accurate to the quality of the cart is more so what I was trying to say. Also, I can understand a simple overall score wouldn't work in regards to the Evercade carts, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt there. Though I didn't mean a substantial game is better than a simple game. I was really just referring to the overall value of price for these carts.
Gotta go with Technos #1. Kunio/Double Dragon is my favorite all time 8/16-bit series and one of my favorite series period. I am also a big fan of Data East, and Namco. Atari classics fall way short as there are much better Atari collections for cheaper on other systems making both of them a disappointment.

The selection of games on the 2nd Atari cart is much better, if you only get one get that.
A lot of good games on Lynx 1, three or four great games on Lynx 2.
Gates of Zendocon is my personal favourite game on Evercade.

Very high production values on your videos, they put mine to shame. :D

Good job! My favorite is Piko 1! Awesome collection! Can't wait for the Indie Heroes Collection 1 and Piko 2!
I rate the Atari Lynx Collection 2 and then Lynx Collection 1 as my fav collections on the evercade. Got both a month ago.
Great video. I’ve not got Piko yet but looking forward to picking up soon. Really like your system for scoring

@@CrowContinuum thanks, I guess I'll wait for a hardware revision. They certainly aren't cheap. Especially the purple one on the second hand market.

The more games on the cartridge the higher the score. Nice vid, but not truly a ranking
