A Place for Everything… You took the time to have that attitude and do a good re-build and honestly keeping it a carb and sharing why for this build that is important is great, especially from a shop known for LS swaps. Thanks for continuing to do great content!

Good video. I was a mechanic for 20 years, and did many carb rebuilds in that time. I liked that you took your time disassembling the carb and cleaning it. Being meticulous is the way to go. Love your videos, love Scouts! Wish I still had mine!

Thank you for the great video brother. I can appreciate what you're saying about the "ppl w attitudes " hahaha. When I was 15 growing up in the 80s, I met a lot of guys in wrecking yards (buying parts for my 80) who were actually really cool and showed me stuff from an educational perspective and didn't judge that I didn't know anything, they just tried to help me understand how mechanical stuff worked. I try to pass on that knowledge helpfulness and I appreciate that you do as well. You're a good teacher. Thank you and have a great Easter.

I’ve rebuilt a lot of carbs in my day and the guy I worked with loved to throw an extra check ball on my bench and watch me scratch my head wondering if I forgot one 😂

I rebuilt my 2310 on my 75 with a 345 auto, with similar results as your first attempt. Watched both the videos and attempted it again to get at the idle passages. The one on the left seems to have good flow, but the one on the right(as you look at it from the drivers seat) seems to have significant blockage that I can't resolve. Should I look for someone with one of those fancy sonic cleaners, or cut my losses and find a 2300 or something similar to use? It seems to run great while choked and the engine actually sounds healthy. New to me project and first scout since my clapped out 72 I drove as a young man in the early 90s. I'm just eager to get it moving under it's own power and onto my driveway where I actually have room to work on it. Thanks for taking the time to make all of your videos. Stoke level is always high after watching any of them.

That may happen in the garage soon. We also have door rebuild series coming up in our tech tips.

There is a hot idle compensator behind the little plate on the back of the carb, don’t over look it.

Hi Sean. Thank you for doing this. Which carb model is this? because it matches mine. And do you have a link to the rebuild kit?

@@anythingscout what are the carb rebuild schedules? just curious? 5 years? 10 years? just to have a reliable scout preemptively?

    • @crisnevin7934

I've seen carbs run reliably for 30 years with clean fuel and good filters. Maybe more. There really isn't a set schedule, it's more just watching and listening for a problem to start. If it's running good, starting good, and it's reliable then leave it alone. More often then not, sitting is the real enemy of carburetors. If they're run regularly with good filters and clean fuel they can last forever.
