well, takes about 2 wings until being stunned while the other requires an ungoodly amount of hits to the head for the same to occur I cannot help but feel as if Midir was less relying on smarts and more on his raw strenght still impressive, but just saying
I think one of the problems about thes battles for what I see, the ER bosses were made with much less poise than the DS3 ones, probably because they wanted us to be able to break it more easily as a mechanic than in the DS3 when few bosses really gives us some opening to do critical hits
And late game Elden Ring bosses have far more health points because they are balanced around a much longer game. Placidusax has 11,000 more health than Midir, it's fair. Either way, Midir poise breaks everything in DS3 as well. His attacks were designed to have high poise damage, so it is irrelevant in this specific fight.
I love Elden ring so much. It’s incredible and the characters and story are insane. But there’s something special about dark souls which will always be with me. It brings so much nostalgia and memories to me. Both with enjoying the game, and times in my life as I played the game too.

And this is without Midir’s humanity attack. Which would probably deal some cheap damage (but I mean. It’s Midir. Cheap damage for him is still quite a lot)
@@kaiserdetectivegolden2735 he actually can, he just misses because his enemies are small but against bosses that are big, he whops damages that can produce five digits like with yhorm. Too bad po88 deleted his videos.
Midir always was the better boss in my opinion. I like Placidusax, he's a cool boss but Midir is just badass. Placidusax's laser attack is basically just stolen from Midir and then changed a bit, and then overtuned the damage of it so that it basically one shots a max level character in normal NG lol
They are incomparably different bosses, Placidusax is a dragon boss only in name, he is a turn based spectacle boss and he does that perfectly. Midir is a surprisingly well executed classic dragon boss only held back by usual big boss problems and by how basic his moves are. If Kalameet had his AI improved along with a bit of polish on his hitboxes he would be far better than Midir.
@@botondkunos1774Kalameet definitely was a product of his time. He's easily the most powerful dragon you fight in the Dark Souls trilogy, but DS1 didn't have the technology to pull off something spectacular.
I can't express my gratitude from how ecstatic this makes me feel. From the moment I fought Placidusax I could see the contrasting design compared to Midir. FromSoft made the ultimate dragon boss fight (Midir) but Elden Ring needed a new one and despite my personal disappointment of not getting an updated Midir (which the closest enemy to Midir would be a crossbreed between a Rune bear and Modern Dragon (and who knows maybe they will expound on the bear eating dragon lore and make that boss in the DLC)) but Placidusax worked and I love him, he's like a Isshin Ashina; not the spring chicken he used to be but he has mastered elemental manipulation and gained unique abilities never seen before from the context of their respective worlds. You also could totally picture a Sword Saint isshin-Placisudsax that could rip everything to shreds with brute force and unparalleled precision, but the thing is they already have a dragon like that; Midir. I love any great boss fight, and Placidusax is no exception. But my favorite dragon fight ever is still Midir and this video highlights his awesome raw power and stalwart persistence. I read some comments from midir vs placidusax forums and the the general consensus was that they are both great bosses (I'd say slightly more favored Midir's design but that might just be the "the OG is better" mentality, but who cares, people's opinions are inconsistent and easily swayed anyway. Just like, what you like duh) but Placidusax would absolutely win. I couldn't wait until an actual, vs battle would be made, and besides the upset at the start Placi getting over-powered was exactly what I was expecting. Although he put up a way better fight despite that, which was unexpected. I thank you Chaos Silver Moon and any other parties for modding Midir into Elden Ring, your skills are incredible. I am blessed to live in a time where a Godzilla inspired video game dragon got to fight a Ghidorah inspired video game multi-headed dragon.
I was thinking about midir and the whole boss fight from the original Dark Souls game and started thinking, "Aren't we fighting a weaker state of midir?", and I thought this mainly because we beat him once on the bridge and sent him falling down into a very deep, so when we find him, he seems to be sleeping or just injured from the first battle and the fall all together, so this gave me the idea we are fighting the weak version of midir. His second phase could be his true strength, but I don't know. I am most likely incorrect, but it's a cool thought. Well, more of a spooky thought now knowing we won when midir was weak... imagine if we had to fight a full strength midir...
i supported midir because he traumatised me still one of the hardest first time bosses to me and it shows that in this fight he won the 2nd 3rd 4th round and he bodied placi in 5th and 6th with quick finishes he only lost round 1 due to luck 😂
I mean, same for Placidusax. Both aren't even in their prime. Since Midir is like a DLC boss, it makes sense why he's scaled so high compared to Placidusax.
@@jatman9556Read the description, first three rounds the bosses are scaled to their original locations, second three they are scaled equally. Midir still wins 5/6, but you'll notice he's STRONGER in the second three rounds. Elden ring is much longer than ds3, the damage scales much higher. Also, lore wise, neither are in their prime, because midir basically has dark cancer and also is crippled just before his battle in ds3.
For those of you thinking placidusax lore wise should be stronger. I’d think again. Darkeater midir not only survived all of the wrath of mankind and monstrosities of the chaos. They also survived, and manipulated the abyss, only manus himself truly did this other than midir. Midir is also an arch dragon, and the only real one we ever see alive in any of the games. The arch dragons were the most powerful beings imaginable really. It took thousands of men and the wrath and guidance of what is practically god. Gwyn in his prime.
The fact Midir lazer is Holy damage means its not at its full power in DS3 very little amount had any dark resistance so the Eldenring bosses who highly resist Holy damage (except DLC bosses) taking that much damage is insane
It’s hard to really scale the dark souls bosses with Elden ring bosses because the Elden ring bosses were designed to be staggered while dark souls bosses really don’t give a fuck about what you hit them with they aren’t going down 😭
Placidusax : I'm the first elden lord truly and hard stone skin and king of all dragons Midir : oh so you eat abyss for lunch? Cuz thay are be taste funky
Truly put into perspective how poise works between the soulsborne and ER, where er is closer to sekiro's posture bar and the rest of soulsborne is closer to an enemy flinching giving you 1 more hit
Does midir do so much more poise damage than all the elden ring bosses? Because in these boss vs boss scenarios placidusax doesn't get staggered by 2 fucking hits from any other boss in elden ring
I really liked that one video where it was Midir against all of ER main bosses. And he actually won against everyone except Maliketh and Malenia. There was also a Slave Knight Gael vid and he won against everyone except Godskin Duo, Rykard (Had literally 1 HP remaining), "Maliketh" (Gael died immediately after killing Maliketh) and Malenia. Malenia is just built that different
Malenia and Maliketh are pretty much impossible for any other NPC to beat due to the mechanics of their attacks. Maliketh deals gigantic percentile damage which is balanced around the fact that the player can heal themself, an NPC cannot. Malenias water fowl dance heals her, which is balanced around a player being able to intelligently dodge. NPCs cannot do that.
@@gmayzes7268There's this one UA-camr that actually uses mods to take control of NPCs, and many of the bosses have what it takes to beat Maliketh and Malenia when an actual person is directing their movements and not the AI that is based around fighting a player.
The poise of Midir is 0. In other words, he has super armor throughout. Will never fall. In the game, he can fall because there is a program in the game to set the HP of the parts. When he has accumulated enough damage to his head, the program will force him to collapse. However, the HP of his head is set very high. Generally speaking, if the player keeps hitting his head until he is almost dead, he may fall down once.

And his aerial attack that does a good amount of dmg is missing too.
You can see the hate in his animations. The man does NOT like you at all.
I wanna see Black/Silver knights vs Crucible knights
This was amazing! Poor Grandpa, he only won once! I loved how smart was Midir sometimes, how in 5:20 stunned Placi before he used his nuke, 5:35 calculating where he woul fall to stun him and avoid the damage, or how in 8:45 he dodged Placi's attack and striked before Grandpa could use his fire against him. Chaos Silver Moon is underrated!
PTSD: I use these videos to take photos of Midir, if you could have his full body in good postion, I would thank you beyond the Greater Will's comprehension!
P.D. , I meant P.D. , not PTSD
well, takes about 2 wings until being stunned while the other requires an ungoodly amount of hits to the head for the same to occur I cannot help but feel as if Midir was less relying on smarts and more on his raw strenght

All Dragons against Milena +Knight dlc Dark Souls 3
Man, Midir is such a chad, he mops the floor with placidusax face, his only advantages are teleportation and that he has more lasers, other than that midir just stunlocks him
2:10 This was funny. I could almost hear Midir's thoughts: "WHERE DID THE FUCKER GO?!? DRAGONLORD MY ASS! STUPID CHEATER, WHAT ARE YOU A WHIMPY VAMPIRE LORD, HUH? He transformed into a cloud to escape my claws, GET OVER HERE YOU SCUM!!"
Relax 😂

Woah chaos you stepped your game the hell up beautiful modding skills My friend
Placidusax forgot to level up his poise.
And this is without Midir’s humanity attack. Which would probably deal some cheap damage (but I mean. It’s Midir. Cheap damage for him is still quite a lot)
midir is too strong.
And he didn't even use his ultimate laser spam
@@jonesgurjones because this port is hugely flawed

CAN WE PLEASE GET MIDIR VS BAYLE NOW
Midir always was the better boss in my opinion.
@@jarlsterra that's understandable with the original release, but not with the remaster.
@@botondkunos1774 You confuse a remaster with a remake. A remaster updates visuals, everything else remains the same.

The only reason Placidusax was king was because Midir was fighting monsters worse than him, and could not be bothered to take the throne.
Placidusax: You can deafeat me! i'm lord or dragon.
Midir: I WILL SHOW YOU! HOW IS lazy dragon is.
Midir will forever be my favorite dragon. Lichdragon fortissax is number 2. And in third place is placidusax.
i supported midir because he traumatised me still one of the hardest first time bosses to me and it shows that in this fight he won the 2nd 3rd 4th round and he bodied placi in 5th and 6th with quick finishes he only lost round 1 due to luck 😂
Would love to see bayle vs midir and then a ffa with all 3 that'd be dope
Wasn't expecting Midir's theme to be added. Nice!
Mider was raised by gods also
placi getting staggered every 2 secs IS MAKING THIS TOO HARD TO WATCH
Elden ring is easier because of this. Almost all the bosses can be brought down with the right builds.
Midir is like a seasoned athlete still in his prime compared to poor old Placidusax.... holy poise damage, Midir dominated this fight!
The only thing that would make placi beat midir, is if they had a Prime Placi with all 5 heads - still imo Midir is the topppp dragon in Souls
It’s gonna be crazy when you can get AC6 bosses to fight other Fromsoft bosses
For those of you thinking placidusax lore wise should be stronger. I’d think again. Darkeater midir not only survived all of the wrath of mankind and monstrosities of the chaos. They also survived, and manipulated the abyss, only manus himself truly did this other than midir. Midir is also an arch dragon, and the only real one we ever see alive in any of the games. The arch dragons were the most powerful beings imaginable really. It took thousands of men and the wrath and guidance of what is practically god. Gwyn in his prime.
Midir 90% of the time attacking the air.

The fact Midir lazer is Holy damage means its not at its full power in DS3 very little amount had any dark resistance so the Eldenring bosses who highly resist Holy damage (except DLC bosses) taking that much damage is insane
It’s hard to really scale the dark souls bosses with Elden ring bosses because the Elden ring bosses were designed to be staggered while dark souls bosses really don’t give a fuck about what you hit them with they aren’t going down 😭
Midir's laser one hit staggers Yhorm. This is the one boss you can't complain about poise damage with. Midir was intended to deal insane poise damage.

Does midir do so much more poise damage than all the elden ring bosses? Because in these boss vs boss scenarios placidusax doesn't get staggered by 2 fucking hits from any other boss in elden ring
Fire and laser cause 999 points of poise reduction. And most of the attacks deal multiple damage.
Midir easily staggers most of DS3 bosses, which have much higher poise, too.
@@laurencevicar5798His laser one hit staggers Yhorm. He was very obviously designed to poise break everything.
@@jarlsterra exactly this. If the Bosses would be programmed to dodge attacks then I think they would slam everyone
@@gmayzes7268There's this one UA-camr that actually uses mods to take control of NPCs, and many of the bosses have what it takes to beat Maliketh and Malenia when an actual person is directing their movements and not the AI that is based around fighting a player.

Is there anyway I can get this mod? I'm willing to pay if I have to
Midirs combo absolutely destroys him 😂 he should just spam that!
Just wanted to know, did you alter the stats of midir? His poise is too much
The poise of Midir is 0. In other words, he has super armor throughout. Will never fall. In the game, he can fall because there is a program in the game to set the HP of the parts. When he has accumulated enough damage to his head, the program will force him to collapse. However, the HP of his head is set very high. Generally speaking, if the player keeps hitting his head until he is almost dead, he may fall down once.
you need to deal bout 70% of midir's max health worth of dmg exclusively to midir's head in order to stagger him.
