For those interested we also tested the 1/4” but driver from Mac…… ua-cam.com/video/X6GCltXhXuY/v-deo.html
If you haven’t seen it take a look 👀
Got that bit driver last year on that combo deal with the drill. It's a beast !
Just picked this up today and boy it’s a beast!! So glad I saw this review
I picked this gun up last year, and my dealer wouldn’t believe that I used it to take lug nuts off of my Toyota FJ Cruiser. Adapter and all, it didn’t even blink at those lug nuts.
It’s strong
I know it's not an important feature but I feel that the LED light on the front is a huge plus! That light seems to be extremely bright and would be a huge asset if you're working in a very tight area. I am quite impressed with this tool!
Yeah I like the light also. Beats just one like the others have that cast shadows. This one is nice to light it all up
That is unbelievable out of a 1/4 inch gun. I looked passed this gun on the truck. Now I'll be looking for it on the Mac truck. Great video.
Snatch one up!
Regular viewers will remember you saying "that thing could flip a lawnmower over"
Haha
I've NEVER been a fan of Mac tools and always a Matco tool fan boy but DAMN! Mac tools is killing it with the rbrt stuff and now this impact.... Yeah, I'm jumping on the truck this week
Yep
Remember, MAC and DeWalt are the same. DeWalt has been kicking ass and taking names lately in the impact realm. That DCF900 is bad to the bone. Now this little 1/4"? Very impressive. I'm surprised the anvil didn't break!
That is one stiff little choocher! Good to know it will take off basically anything you would regularly use a 1/4" ratchet or wrench on. Would have liked to see what kind of fastening torque it goes to. That might be its only drawback that being so strong it could snap heads off bolts as soon as it hits the tightening point. But for taking bolts out its a clear powerhouse. As always, good testing Clay. Keep them videos coming!
Honestly the gun doing almost 3x the torque rating… sold.
It’s bad !!
they want you to torque test it so you void your warranty.... I'm still sold though
almost as much as my 3/8" Milwaulkee stubby then I guess :)
MAC is making it tough to keep my Snap-On. Great information Clay 180 is great from 1/4", thanks again for a nice review. Try to stay cool
I have this gun and its my go to. I dont even touch my 3/8 anymore or my electric ratchets.
It’s bad
Thank you for the test of this gun makes the next purchase a little easier to figure out.
It’s impressive
Mac daddy Michael better order a lot of 1/4 inch impact guns because he’s going to sell a lot of them after this video came out.
Badass 1/4” impact , probably the best in the market right now!
I can agree with that
WOW that impact is amazing lightweight 12 volts doing 200 ft pounds!!!!! Definitely on my list to pick up!!!!
It’s a bad little dude
That was the most impressive test I have seen. That is worth every penny!!
At 2:49 where the bolt started to tighten easier all I was thinking was its gonna break. Made me jump a little when it did 😆
I figured that was going to happen. I was expecting it
lol that noise warning damn near triggered an epileptic attack
I tried a flex 1/4 on a lug nut on a f150 was impressed it spun it off knowing torque spec 150lb but didn't push it further was impressed it spun that guess the morden tools are kicking but
I wasn’t gonna click thumbs up, till you pointed out it was free, i’m in! lol
I’m a Milwaukee guy but when Mac gets here Thursday morning this will be in my box
Love the headphone warning 😂 my wife isn’t a fan of the tool videos so good looking out for us headphone guys.
Haha
WOW!!! Thought at some point flames were going to shoot out once you neared 200ftlbs. Guess Mac needs to underrate the 1/4 to sell the more expensive 3/8" and 1/2" impacts in both 12V and 20v.
"taking lug nuts off with a quarter inch impact"... Hilarious!
Been looking for a small impact like this for a while. After seeing this I'm sold. Probably order me one tomorrow
Nice
Talk about underselling a tool, only 70-foot pounds of breakaway torque. That 1/4" impact is a beast. I'd be careful if you get a 1/2" impact it might twist the shop upside down.
Haha flip the car over !
Note you have an adapter on. Losing torque there. This gun is insane!! Much love
MAC cordless ones are oil resistant as well and so much better than the Millwachi (MATCO 1/4 impact is awesome as well).
Why everybody on this channel hating on Milwaukee y’all are the same people that prolly use dewalt
Cause Milwaukee is trash as a pro I’ve used it all and milwaukee are great tools for a short time but they don’t have the durability to hold up in a shop setting
200 with and adapter. Mac is stepping up the game
Yep
I’m becoming a huge fan of the Dewalt/Mac platform. Word is there’s gonna be a Dewalt 12V 3/8 ratchet doing 80 foot pounds.
Nice
My wrists hurt just hearing this
That would be epic, I’ve been holding out for the longest time. Really don’t want to get into another platform.
Realistically Mac should have rated this gun at 120ft lbs, as we all seen it’ll do more but 120 is a fair middle number that it could do no problem for years to come!
I hope nobody is wanting their 1/4” to work at 120 ft lbs, lol.
…12, or maybe 25. 🧐
Thanks for doing this I was just looking at buying this
Go grab one up. This should prove it’s got a set of 🏀 🏀’s
Great video as always. Any more insider info on the new "stronger" Snap On 1/2" brushless impact coming out? I tried ordering 1 but my dealer said he can only order them in a pack of 6.
Keep up the content clay, good stuff
Yea i got some inside info on it. Still way overpriced and still not near as good as the Milwaukee, Makita, Dewalt, or the Bosch 1/2'' impacts.
I’m not doing it. The current half still sucks a sack of balls
Wow, great little gun. I need to get one. Great video, keep up the great work 👍.
No fair the bolt was hot and the socket and Clay were Hot ! LOL!
Everything’s hot today!
@@KoonTrucking We live in Mississippi, Jack, it's always hot...
Awesome tool after watching this video I had to order one definitely a strong little joker Great video 👍
And I think they didn't go to crazy with the torque rating because it's a 1/4 and fear of people going overboard and breaking anvil or something like that
Like I just did ! Haha gotta know what it will do!
Wow very impressed with the tool 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼✌🏼
Little guy is strong. He’s been on that Canseco juice!
That looks like one impressive gun!!!!
Stout little guy
Put the new 5.0ah battery on it. It will get alot more power. I have Dewalt's 12 volt drill , impact driver and amazing screw gun. They all gain alot of torque with the 5.0ah battery compared to the compact battery. Great review
THANKS FOR SHARING GOOD INFORMATION NOW I NEED TO GO GET ONE
That was very impressive. I'm still a fan of air powered tools myself but Might get one of these.
I love air too but this one is lighter than air powered tools
I'm a milwaukee guy but I gotta say that lil impact is pretty impressive. Can't see what milwaukee comes out with next to compete with this impact.
I have up on Milwaukee. They were the best but didn’t know how to handle too dig status in my opinion. Sold all mine( lots) to someone else and moved on
@@donotrobme9295 they don’t have the right “feel” when I touch a Milwaukee product.
Send that thing to Torque Test Channel!
I don't think they've done any 1/4" impacts yet
They haven’t but I will loan it to them
Very impressive, ill be adding that little guy to my arsenal
It’s strong
Pretty awesome power!
Personally I run the DeWalt 12v and 20v line and love them! The DCF601 1/4" screwdriver with the clutch, DCF902 3/8" Impact, DCF901 1/2" Mini, DCF894 Mid-Torque, & the DCF899 High torque. Plus I have the MAC 12v Ratchets in 1/4" and 3/8" cause they run the same batteries I already own.
Cannot say enough good things about them all! And it makes me happy to use a brand that US owned instead of Milwaukee which is Chinese owned...
I’ve been impressed with that 12 volt Dewalt I got and this little 1/4” is bad to the bone. So far I’m a fan!
@@KoonTrucking Yeah I wich more guys would give them a chance. DeWalt and MAC are real player in the 12v world now. Really hope they continue to expand the line. Like one of those little sander/polishers guns.
Yeah me too
That little thing is a beast!!!!
Yeah buddy!
That 70 ft-lb bolt went all righty loosey on you there.
I figured it would happen the 60 lbs felt bad
Check out the torque test channel. Those boys are doing some awesome testing.
Yep
Cheers! Clay's the man
@@TorqueTestChannel let me know when you need it
Thanks a lot I just bought one from my Mac guy
I was thinking to myself, "if you had a socket that big in 1/4" I need to know where the hell you got it"
They need to make 1/4 impact sockets up to like 24mm in size like compact ones as this impact is AWESOME!!!
😂
Whoever tested at the Mac factory should be fired. They’re gonna miss out on lots of sales due to the 71 pound removal impact number
Thats crazy man. Dig it.
That was fun to watch. I looked up for a tear down comparison of the Mac and DeWalt version of this impact, I got negative results. I wanted to find out just how different the innerds are on these two tools since S/B&D owns Mac tools and DeWalt. I think I remember Mac Daddy Michael explaining the exterior design differences in that the Mac is more towards the automotive sector where the DeWalt is more towards the home contractor sector. Yeah, I know people use DeWalt in their automotive jobs, as well, but anyway the insides cain’t be the same either right?
they pretty much are now, Mac has the better warranty tho.
@@zorgzev96 what do you reckon about the “Craftsman” versions? I cain’t bring myself to get into the new Craftsman, though.
@@donaldhollums3278 no personal experience but the TTC guys have always gotten lower numbers out of Craftsman power tools than Dewalt/Mac. I run a DCF891 and the new 20v ratchet at work all day (heavy diesel tech) and they both have plenty of power and keep up with my coworkers Milwaukee and Snap-On stuff. The trick is to not buy any of Dewalts old stuff, it isn’t as good.
@@zorgzev96 good tip! Maybe I am wrong and I won’t mind to admit it, but I ain’t too fond of Stanley/B&D just mainly of seeing how the once great tool brands only seem a conglomeration of the basically the same tools with a different name now.
Man that thing kicks butt for a 1/4
Big time. I was shocked
@@KoonTrucking me too! What is the going price on this thing?
$169.99 For this thing I got to get one. Thank you for doing that testing that was good.
Just picked it up cuz of this video and it’s a small little beast it broke off some bolts I was trying it on!
Got me sold going to talk to my mac guy next week...I want one for my collection
It’s a baby beast
You can hear the Crocs Workin!!
I bet it would pop that 200 fit/lbs pretty easy with out an adapter
What kinda surprises we gonna see!
I'd like to see it up against the Milwaukee 1/4" stubby that thing was a beast!
I’m done with milwaukee
I have the Milwaukee M12 1/4" gun. It's the last thing of milwaukee I have but after seeing this I think I'm gonna be trading it off. Milwaukee says it will do 100ft lbs but I'll tell you right now there is no way. I have stalled it out on oil pan bolts for crying out loud.
@@KoonTrucking I dont blame you, i got a dead 3/8 stubby thats mint needing warranty.. My big 1/2 boss milwaukee has got more use with the 1/4" impact driver.
Thanks for the headphone heads-up. Class act.
I want this, been eyeing it on the Mac truck
Go get it!
I’m pretty sure it’s 71 ft -lbs fastening.
Your results will vary wildly depending on your pp ahem* socket and bolt size.
Also this gun is identical to the dcf902 minus the anvil size. So it should be just as strong… or weak depending on nut size.
I put it in there it clearly says 71 ft Lbs BREAkAWAY torque if you watch video it’s in there towards the end
Very impressive! No need to even have a 3/8 impact when you have that 👍
Haha
What would be great is to take the impact apart and see what the internals look like.
Man I’m stuck between buying that impact or one of there 12v ratchets 🤔
Ratchet I’m not sure about….. haven’t tried them but I’m impressed with the impacts. I’m a snap on battery ratchet fan
I wish they had this in a 3/8 anvil. I have the Milwaukee version of this and it’s awesome because these 12v are so compact, just wish they had the 3/8 anvil on them. A lot of time the actual bigger 3/8s impacts are just a little too much
Just pick up the Dewalt dcf902. Dewalt does make the Mac tool power tools, it will use the Mac batteries just fine
Man I had to spend money on that little joker after seeing this thanks clay
Clay my customers in Kentucky want you to come ride with me and demo that little demon!
Deal !
@@KoonTrucking I told my page followers to come watch this and leave you a comment asking to get you to Kentucky
Let me get that lol . Nice little impact right there . Need to find me a local Mac dealer now
It’s bad
How do you think the battery will hold up? Meaning do you think it will eventually fall out like the Milwaukee?
I don’t think so the way it’s designed
Haha, maybe they forgot to add a 1 at the beginning of that 71 ft lb. Very impressive!
Awesome little impact
Damn wish there was a Mac guy around I would absolutely buy this and its cheap in my opinion compared to what some others go for. Thats crazy for a 1/4 drive and has a adapter on it
Never thought about rotating tire on a passenger vehicle with a 1/4" impact gun but with this gun it's probably a possiblity although not recommended.
Haha
Great video! Thank you
over 200ft pound for a 1/4 I have never seen this before with a 1/4 crap I want one.
Yeah it’s strong
That is totally backwards from how these tests usually go.
Exactly
Now that's the MAC Daddy of 1/4 impact wrenches.
Haha
God, I wish I could justify the purchase!!!
Just buy it. You only live one time. He’ll sell a few of those snappy ratchets and done
i think mac tools forgot to put the 1 in front of 71, so breakaway is 171ft lbs
Literally just picked this up from my Mac guy after seeing this. Sold my Milwaukee 1/4
Cool
Like your videos, but torque down load does not equate what it takes to break the bolt. It is usually less. Easy to test, torque down to 100ft/lbs and then get a torque meter and break the bolt. It is almost always quite a bit less than what you torqued it down to.
200 ft Lbs …… got to be more than 71 but we tested that and almost every time it took more than what it was torqued too to break it loose
Bad ass 🤘🏻 love my snappy rocker trigger for 1/4. The ct761 tho, no balls… I need a stronger cordless 3/8 gun
The little dewalt 3/8 I got it bad too
I just bought the 1/4 drive ratchet 12v
It’s ridiculous. Try it out.
I will
good test. Let's see how it holds up after 6 months. It is not a dewalt.
We shall see if it lasts 6 months without the battery falling out it’s beat my Milwaukee by 4 months
Very impressive..
140 ft-lbs, now I can take off my gm wheel nuts!
I've got the dewalt 3/8 12v and I don't think it can do that much. It was a struggle taking the lug nuts off my ranger at 100 ft lbs
This one is shocking
What does the gun come with for the price
I put the screen shot at the end that was just bare tool
I'm not really a Mac tool person but I do like the compact size of this impact and if I would find one at the local pawn shops then I'm going to test it as well as I can before buying it and if it is good to go and priced right,, then I'll buy it, because I know wherever I buy it, it'll be mine and if it breaks, then I'll look for another one.. you know good and well, that warranty limit set at 71lb is a helluva a clever move on Mac's Part and being a 1/4 drive 71lb is a good and smart rating
I wonder if one could order the 1/4 anvil and swap it into the Dewalt dcf902 ?
After watching this, im convinced thats the only difference between the 901 and 902
Great show
Thanks
that look sweet, pretty soon 1/4inch take over 3/8 and 1/2 drives :). In real life, it would break any bolts that require that much torque to remove.
Yep
Thats what happens when you have the old Rockford Fosgate amp makers rating your impact.
Great video 👍
Thank you
She's a BEAST
Yeah it is!
Try what thing with the 5ah DeWalt battery next haha
Haha
