Wow! I love your impact tests. They may not please all viewers, or be scientifically exact, but they are as "real world" as I can imagine!
I'm not going to lie, I was extremely impressed when it passed 110! That little impact is bad to the bone!
Yeah I’ve done a lot of research in the past on break away torque vs what your torque a bolt/nut to. Typically breakaway torque is about 2/3 the installation torque give or take a few lb-ft depending on the coating on the fasteners. That’s still pretty damn impressive for such a little gun though.
The Mac deals are hard to beat I bought the 1/4 impact and it was cheaper than getting the Milwaukee equivalent and that’s all I had before.
I just got mine before Christmas for $199 as a kit so I’m really looking forward to using it thanks Clay (1/4 impact wrench)
I guessed 150. My Bosch 18v does 150. That’s amazing that something that small will do more than a bigger impact. The adapter was amazing to.
i bought the kit with the 12 volt drill today and it's the real deal folks !
Great 👍 u are blowing my mind hahahahaha love love the way you show stat and announce products and tools 🛠 keep up the good job clay
Great impact! I have the 12v non brushless 3/8” version and it would ever come close to that!! Great to see a real life test!
We live in the golden age of tools.
Jaw Dropped when I saw the 200 ft. lbs. spin off. I'm still impressed how the bit didn't fail. Keep it up Mac Tools
That adapter is a hoss and that impact is crazy for a 1/4!!
I am not a mechanic, but I love tools, one day I want to run a tool truck. I like your channel a lot, I have watched a lot of your videos and the tool reviews and testing are awesome!
That's wild, I don't really need it but this video has me wanting one!
Love that you did this video I just got the mcf901 and it is only rated at 71 ft-lbs of breakaway torque which surprises me since it has the 1/4 anvil but thank you
guess we know regular wheel studs are good to 190ish even new lol! Great video!
You have a nice looking set the lighting and staging look professional
Impressive, impressive!!!!!! I will definitely buy one.
this looks like a incredible little tool. Will you do a review on the screwgun?
Hello again Clay
All I can say is Wow!!! That's incredible
Did get the Snap On dealer I deal with to check your channel out including checking out the Snap On Friday Videos.Found out Hamilton is not alone on getting things in ordered,he is having this problem too
Don't know if MAC has it, but Dewalt also has a version of this with a 3/8 anvil on it so you don't have to use an adapter.
That is crazy especially with the adapter as you loose quite a bit of torque with using them so that gun is a badass little gun. I'm a Milwaukee fan but I would buy one of those in a heartbeat if had a dealer local
Great video clay! That’s pretty bad ass!!
Mr joe tired of walking? .... hope he finds a real ride soon
Great video clay! Wish I had a Mac rep near me. It would be a great investment. Get this man some sponsors!!!
Hell yes! I’ve been waiting on this one
It worked, but seems it takes so long once you really start getting up there in torque that you'd really be wasting time.
It's cool that it could do it though.
We lost our Mac franchisee a few months ago. I rarely bought from him because I was never really impressed with Mac products. But of course now they are starting to release some nice products that I want to buy and I don't have a guy coming by the shop anymore. My luck of course.
just buy it in dewalt colors instead same product less money dcf801 sbd rebrands them
@@dstblj5222 I was not talking about there electric tools. I was referring to their new RBRT stuff. But thanks for the reply.
@@daveb1968 that's also sold in facom usag and proto colors if you want to avoid the tool truck
Mr Koon, I appreciate the crap you do for UA-cam. Thank you🙏
The gun and adapter is both impressive. I been doing these similar tests for years and my question always been "what's the limit", where's the manufacturer's goals?. It was always the highest torque, then compact, now it's super compact crazy torque. Lol
I'm still waiting to see the brushless ct761.
Clay I bought one last Friday coming this week 👍
That little thing is very impressive!! 👍👍👍😃
Great video y'all have a great week and stay safe 👍
These are rebranded DeWalt with some difference. Mac versions rubber and plastic is made to be more oil resistant. Mac also has metal mesh over the vents that I dont see on my Dewalt. My Mac dealer says the Mac brand have a year longer warranty over the DeWalt but haven't checked. I liked the Mac 12v drill over the Dewalt one because of the metal chuck on the Mac drill over the plastic one on Dewalt but bought all Dewalt 12v otherwise. I have not seen the Mac 12v screw gun also.
That’s all there is and there ain’t no more, She got 200 and not a penny more!! That’s a bad dude right there!!
Frame that bit adapter, poor little dude needs to retire with honor.
Man, that thing is givin Milwaukee a run on the stubbys.
We put them all head to head, shot the video the same day, will get it up soon
Amazing I would of never put money that it would do 200 wow and being that light great video
200 for a 1/4" you pretty much can not go wrong with that with knowing in all 1/4" applications you will not need that much force but if it is the only tool at your disposal to move something in a 3/8" drive application even though technically the drive size is not recommended at least you could walk into the situation with a little confidence too know you will be able to remove something
What helped was the 1/2” socket because it’s heavier than the other lighter socket. This matters because the heavier socket has an inertia advantage
High Mr. Clay,
Awesome 👌
MAC has some awesome cordless tools! 👍
Dewalt manufactures mac power tools, it cost 2x as much too, and only has 1/3 the warranty time too.
Now will mac have full line of the 12 volt tools cause we know the cordless tools are war with each other for a tool under 2lbs that has that much power people are gonna want it.🔧🔧🔧🔧
Heard Joe’s bike broke down.😩
Like the light setup.
You should slap a 3/8's anvil in that same gun and see if it increases the break away torque at all! Seems like not having to use an adapter would help!
Crazy I paid $210 for my 20v brushless 1/4 inch impact and hammer drill. The hammer drill will push a 8inch ice auger through 30+ inches of ice in negative temps in less than 45 seconds without breaking my wrist at the bottom of the hole. I'm a machinist and I rarely need to break out the 3/8 or half inch when fixturing parts. And I work for a marine valve manufacturer and the 1/4 will hold a 450 pound monel casting tight enough to marr it up and contort the casting, it lives it's life on the number 2 setting because 3 is just too much. It's my go to with a 3/8 adapter
Downfall is it came with a 1ah and 3ah battery. The 1 ah will punch 20 + 8 inch holes in roughly 20 inches of ice. The 3ah will punch 50 plus and has no use on the frozen lakes unless you are trying to drain water off the top of the ice and swiss cheese it
Great video thanks man!
Impressive. Just for giggles you guys should go to Lowe's and get one of those $79 Craftsman impacts drivers and put it through these same paces
Where did you get those lugs Walmart? They didn't even squeak or squeal before stripping the threads! I bet it would have gone to 210 Ft Lbs with a short socket, that's still very impressive for a 1/4 inch bit driver I'm surprised the bit didn't break.
I admit that 12 volt Mac quarter-inch isimpressive but I can still get the high torque 1/2 inch Drive Milwaukee on eBay for as low as $185 that is too lonely but sometimes there are sellers on there that do a battery and charger combo on the half inch Milwaukee high torque for under $300
Did I miss it, did that adapter come with? Or what was that. Unreal!!!
Each manufacturer having there own battery platforms is frustrating. I own Milwaukee m12 and m18. They have such a variety of good tools. That 1/4impact looks great but, I just can’t justify or store multiple bunches of batteries and chargers.
The answer is always a bigger tool box! Lol also it’s better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Haha
Bosch idh182 impact driver 1/2 socket with a 1/4 collet is 137 ft pounds of torque is what it breaks down to from 1650 in pounds impact driver torque
Diggin' the Gary Clark Jr. in the background
Bad ass driver. Is that one personally yours or jus a test run
That GP Duo sockets in 3/8" 21mm is what I had to use to use a 3/8" impact to take lug nuts off my truck. The factory lug nuts are 21mm but they swelled up so I'm stuck with either using 22mm socket in 3/8" drive (too much slop) or using an adapter to use my 1/2" drive 21.5mm flip socket. The GP Duo 21mm deep impact fits perfectly. I could not find a thinwall impact deep 21mm in 3/8" drive so the GP Duo was the best option for 3/8" drive. Clay: do you think the 12v drill form Mac that's on sale is worth getting? I know you said the Snap-on 14.4 3/8" isn't all that much of a drill for drilling steel. Thanks.
I haven’t used the Mac drill but so do know they are made by Dewalt just more geared towards automotive guys and Dewalt has always made superior drills. I’m sure they would work good. The Snap On is just nothing to write home about for sure. It lacks power big time
Impressive most impressive
even though i am mechanic too, i keep wearing earmuff all the time in the shop as i really hate to be like deaf.
Nice demonstration! Whats up with Mr. Joe?
Apparently I do not understand the speed rating and torque. I would think the low speed would have more torque but that must be wrong. I guess the faster the hammer the better the torque or result. Thanks for the video.
It's like that on a drill but not an impact on a drill the slower it has more torque but on an impact the faster it goes the faster the hammers bang together and the more torque it has
Out of curiosity how do you calibrate your torque wrench. I've seen them come straight out of the box 5-50ft lbs off and if you don't calibrate them you might as well trust the ugga dugga count because it's probably more accurate
Very impressed
That's impressive.
Great video
Going to ask my Mac Dealer if he’ll take a trade on my Snap On Cordless Impact.
Nice little tool
Hey man! What's the best way to contact your shop for service info? I'm the guy that lives right across the river in AR and pull a linehaul out of Olive Branch, MS. I'm struggling to find a shop around here that works on Paccars and has the Davie 4 software.
Tbh that’s why I don’t buy Macs wireless power tools I thought they where dewalt 😅
I inquired from Mac about trying to trade my Milwaukee equivalent for just that Mac version. I don’t think it’s going to work. I wonder who the three dislikes were from.
Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t this impact driver a beefed up version of the Dewalt 12 xtreme impact driver?
Also ergonomically, this impact is one of the best! My dad owns the Dewalt version and he prefers it to about any other impact driver out there. And we normally run triple hammers or fuel.
Stanley Black & Decker owns the company thought so pointed out is why the battery says powered by DeWalt the company manufactures the impact driver vs. Impact wrenches to their specifications dislike Porter-Cable which is a Stanley Black & Decker brand along with Craftsman and then finally DeWalt I'm not even going to mention Black & Decker which is a crummy home owner brand because of the batteries being interchangeable I would actually consider buying one
I did not think it was gonna be that impressive for only 1.6 lbs
Everybody that watched this is wondering what Mac’s trade in policy is? lol
Good video
A lot of these tests I feel should be done with the shortest possible socket/stud
I'm buying one for that price!!!
You should try the milwaukee m18 and m12 fuel impact drivers
It’s shot we did it same day. Put all the big boys against each other in a sudden death match
I need some of the extra strength ugly removal wipes!!!
Buy the Dewalt it’s only $89.00 vs $200.00 with the Mac Logo. Internal parts all the same. Buy two guns vs 1 that’s just makes sense to me but to each is own.
Next... the Mac vs CT761 vs M12 Stubby...
We were just talking about this...
Vary impressed
Going to get me BOGO deal
That’s a power little bugger. I still can’t believe u weren’t wearing ear plugs and safety glasses. In cars that bit driver broke
all it is missing is a rocker switch. lol
Rebranded dewalt xr
Facom and Mac are the same and they take the Dewalt batteries . Dewalt tool is really different .
That lil gun gonna give up the ghost
I take it no Mr. Joe today because no truck still................
I like this test, I would be curious to see what it does after a couple of months of use.
Need get one
@koontrucking so is it better that ct761
We shot that video also. I will release it later on. We put it head to head against the Snap On, Milwaukee M12 & M18. Pretty interesting
Thats dewalt for you right there
Dewalt makes mac tools cordless impacts and drills
How is it when the charger is the exact same one as the dewalt one or...
Why do the battery's say powered by dewalt?
I would like to know how different they are. What different internals are they using.
Use a short socket and retry on the 210.
We did use a short socket (wait until the next video) made no difference
Koon Trucking I know sometimes it matters. But what a stout gun , and even better adapter.
Can you please make a video of you cleaning out that tool chest and organizing it? It needs a bath
That is an incredible little impact. I honestly thought the bit adapter was going to snap before you got to 200 lol.
