- Belas Knap is a Neolithic long barrow, a stunning example of a 'Severn-Cotswold' chambered tomb with a false entrance and side chambers. Excavated in 1863 and 1865, the remains of 31 people were found in the chambers, with some powerful Cro-Magnon type skulls. A small circular arrangement of stones existed at the site before the mound. The site dates from the Neolithic but the name 'Belas Knap' itself is medieval, meaning Beacon Mound.The barrow has been restored.

Great video Hugh but I am confused as to why you see a part of it being a goddess because to me it looks like a phallus it really does. x
May be you saw phallus or vulva , because of your interpretations of this burial place, you both want to see in it : those ancient people's hope of rebirth, but the mound also can be of boat's shape , or of the milkyway's shape , transportations to heaven , into the other world , or something else we 've not imagined yet ? like the long common houses of those farmers people : like the wooden house for the livings and the stony one for the deads like at stonehenge ( there were two henndes one of stone -the famous one - and one of wood vanished centuries ago...).

A question for you: Has this barrow ever been looked at with ground-penetrating radar or any of the other methods of seeing what's within the mound without digging?
it was twice excavated in the nineteenth century. The present site is heavily reconstructed.
The long, narrow grass covered indentation on the opposite end from the "false" door could likely be a filled in stairway downwards. Has ground penetrating radar been utilized?

I don't think the north pointing chamber is a false door. Someone came along later and put those people in it and then closed it up.
It reminds me of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. When the Muslims took it over they blocked up the East gate and put a cemetery in front of it. The reason being that the Jews believed their Messiah would come through that gate, they put the cemetery there because you have to be clean to enter and according to Jewish laws walking through a cemetery; being around the dead, makes you unclean. So both the cemetery and the wall blocking the gate are barriers against the Son of God returning (or coming for the first time if you're a Jew).
Throughout history, since we were put here, there has been the true religion, and a false religion. That false religion then spawned more false religions, as once you step away from truth, no one can agree on what to say the truth is, and everyone wants to be in charge, so they start dividing. In Neolithic times it would have been the same, not just one religion, but the true religion and then all the Adversary's false religions intended to lead people away from the truth. Originally these sites were about life, being born again - spiritually resurrected. Baptism is a kind of rebirth, it enters you into God's family. So I'm guessing that's what these sites were used for, to baptise, or rebirth people, except rather than water, they were using the Sun's light on symbolic dates in the calendar. Maybe they also had water baptisms, as sites where there are natural springs were also sacred to them.
The people who came along and put dead bodies in the monument and blocked the gateway, were doing a really bad thing, with very bad intentions. They were making sure that the monument couldn't be used in the future. And instead of being a place of birth and life, it became a place for the dead. The Enemy has the same goals today as he did then, winning souls for hell, and keeping them out of heaven . Makes me wonder if another group of people, more violent perhaps who were happy to use force, turned up and took charge.
Love the music. The landscape is breath taking as is the masonry. I love stone work and the older the better. I don't imagine that the bodies were encased in there so that they couldn't be reborn. I don't imagine we need our used up meat bodies to be reborn. Not in my way of thinking at least. All of the mounds where bones were found were most likely all encased at some point. An attachment, as are grave sites today. I wish to be cremated and scattered to the wind myself. I don't want to be encased in a tomb in the ground until some curious soul comes and digs me up or digs me up to make way for some nice new buildings. Having a grave site to visit for the rest of my life seems like a burden and a lack of freedom to move forward. As long as we have a heart we're good ;) Awesome video ~ Thank You ~
debra . hello . i agree . if these archeological ostrich`s got their heads out of the ground , they might appreciate the aereal view of conscious perception . most of them don`t even tell the truthe of what they`ve found , until they`ve published a best seller . enen people who have had the after life experience go to see a psychologist rather than figure it out by themselves . . who`s fool in who . enjoy

What do you make of Hunters Burgh Long Barrow and its alignment with Orion constellation?
I usually only watch the long Megalithomania lectures, but I really enjoyed that. It made me want to visit the weird place, but I live 400 miles away.
i was pleased and surprised to be able to see more on Google Maps / Street view.
They would purposely represent the vulva in all these ancient megaliths and dolmens. The point is when the sun shines at certain times the earth is fertilized or the Graves are resurrected. That's why they always worshipped the mother goddess. From Ancient Anatolia to Ireland.
