It's a strong and good man who gets involved in the raising of his children. That goes for any one anywhere around the world. I'm glad this young man took a public stand on it by brining his babies right into the powwow dancing with him and having a positive influence on others. Way to go! :-)
My father would come to visit me and would see something useful I'd made and ask me, "Where'd you get that?" and I'd say, "I made it." He'd say, "How did you learn to do that?' and I'd say, "I learned if from you! What are you, senile?"
Awsome awsome!! Mothers anf fathers should know: you are the first and most powerful teacher in life of your kid, you could be a respected leader of 1000 people but when you've treated your own kids bad ...you aren't good leader at the end Blessings to you guys: 😍 your channel!
I was at a powwow once my oldest son was just a baby little blond-haired blue-eyed baby in my arms and this woman took him from me and danced around the circle with him I thought it was so sweet
Commonly found wander the cliffs, if a fry bread is found very close to where a mother/grandmother resides it is said that the fry bread is bigger in size and has more fluff. Also to the youth or adults that aren’t parents the scent trail/grease trail is harder to pick up. However it is said that especially mothers or grandmothers will have a way easier time picking up a scent/grease trail
I came across your channel a few weeks ago, fell instantly in love (aging white woman). Husband and I spent the next several days watching every video we could find of yours, Patrick. We realized how much American civilization has lost not being taught native history, culture, and wisdom mainstream. Maybe that will begin to change soon. We wish you would do a biography video of how you came to be a hoop dancer. Your joy is so appreciated in a world with too much division and mistrust. May Creator God bless you greatly and give you long and peaceful years.
My niece used to fall asleep when her dad would dance with her, up here in Alaska! 😊 It's always so awesome to see other Natives getting their kids involved early!
God! I was 5 when my Dad took me deer hunting, and I couldn't even pee in the rough or eat anything, at all....... He took me rabbit hunting once, gave me carrots and told me to go spread in out on the ground in a open field, about 30 minutes go by, and then he said to get behind him to the car slowly, when I saw him bring his 20 out and started to aim at the rabbits, I threw the rest of carrots at them and screamed RUN!!!!. Omg, my Dad was so mad, would not talk to me for two days. He was serious about hunting and fishing and he was native so this was super sacred and important.
When my daughter was two, I killed a deer in a canyon, packed out the meat in a backpack and carried out the head. (It was a buck license so I had to keep the antlers to prove) When I got home, my little girl wanted to see the deer I'd killed. I carried her outside, and there's this deer head next to a big pack of meat in the back of my truck. She looked at it very thoughtfully for a few seconds, then asked, "Is he sleeping, daddy?" I said, "No, he's dead." Her: *long pause, brain really working hard* "We gonna eat him?" Me: "Yep." Her: "OK, Cool." I'm sure there's a moral of the story. Probably something about kids being strongly motivated by food.
ali blue Yea I couldn't even rustle leaves without a look. I was fine on squirrels. I even took them to the car. Helping drag bambi (even though I've never seen it) was too much. Brought me to tears. I would of been fine but i was the one who shot it. So I was not prepared for the deer!
New subscriber! I'm Hungarian with Mongol ancestry & frequently get asked if I'm Native American (it's an honor). Anyway love the style of humor & spontaneity! 😀
I recently became interested in your culture...we definitely seems to have many similarities. I’m absolutely a FAN of the HU Band and the “Song of Women”. 🙇🏻♀️🎤🎶🎵💫⚡️💨👏🏽 Stay Healthy, Strong 💪🏽 and Positive. I’m Indigenous Native American from N. California and I’m Maidu/❤️Miwok / Nissanon. There are several ethnographies and anthropologist who claim we don’t exist anymore but there’s almost 400 just in my Tribal Band or Group. There are 9-10 more Groups who have 100s of members. I know our songs, dances and language..so continue to remain interested in who you are! God Bless.
Too too funny, i love how Native's smile laugh and joke. Grandma sends her deepest thanks for your choice to show and say our children are gifts from the Creator😁 Hunting skit and guest to funny. Thank you for all the laughs with solid messages...🌻😁🌻
I'm always a bit puzzled about comments about natives not being funny. Why wouldn't they be funny and goof around? That's part of being human. Family legend says one of my forebears was a fur trapper and married a native woman. No mention of which tribe. Someone in Canada I think. But the drums, the singing, and the dancing moves my spirit.
My father is going through the toughest moments in his life. He's gone-through six bouts of cancer. My father is and was real Irish-Cherokee. He absorbed a lot of important topics and learned how to provide a kinship toward Detroit-metro kids that were convicted of rape, murder or GTA. Behind bars: what's next? When reality becomes pretty tough, I trust that you guys know what to do! It's real cool to see the work you guys are putting-in. We all can use a few laughs these days, thanks!
Outstanding....I love how you guys finished off talking about how important Fathers are. Fathers are warriors, they take care of their kids. The world needs more of that.
You could have warned us that we might cry! Loved, loved the end when Devin goes into what fatherhood is. That is one thing I love about Devins videos. He makes a point to add his family to his videos! Been watching him for years. ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for bringing us the medicine of laughter oh great medicine man lol I LOVED seeing a native man carrying his child and supporting fatherhood. Wish more of our native men could stand up and show how proud they are of their babies. God bless & take care guys.
Hey guys, you're cracking me up! I'm a 60 year old white guy who was adopted by Southern Ottawa 50 years ago in Oklahoma. I grew up going to powwows in the Midwest and now I'm working in AZ, making new Native friends here. Your videos bring back a lot of good memories. Keep it up!
I missed you guys!!! I always follow Devan since he started. Great job!!! Don't take so long for making the next one. Quarantining is boring in California. Need more funny videos.
Thanks for introducing me to Devans u tube channel!!!! Can't get enough of Y'ALL.... KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK BRINGING JOY AND LAUGHTER INTO THIS CRAZZZZZY WORLD
Just discovered your videos in the past few days. You men have given me so much joy during these rough times. And we need more stand-up men like Devan in the world. Thank you!
Shout out to Devin for being an awesome father and modeling for other fathers! As a non-native who knows too many fatherless families it made me really happy. Love the content and the guests! Thank you for sharing your culture with the world.
Bless you for being an involved dad. Our daughters need this. Always pulls at my heartstrings to see. Guess it’s just something I missed out on as a child.
You two have the greatest laughs, always makes me smile. Thank you for your videos. Much Respects 🙏🏽 Wayuu tribe out of Colombia watching from So-Cal this evening. 💯🇨🇴 P.S the end brought a tear to my eye. Showing our men and women how to be Warriors.
I don't either though my grandmother was Crow. 4 other nationalities mixed in. Im a mutt. I think you guys are fun to watch too being stuck with lock down til June.
I am completed addicted to your channel now Patrick. I haven't laughed this hard in forever. Slowly making my way through them all. I love you all!! Thanks man.
After a decades of hunting in silence, making no noises and being one with the wind.. I took my daughter hunting for her first time. I knew she would never sit still and be quiet, so we talked in whispers. I told her of hunts past and between whispers and bursts of laughter, I've never seen so many deer. They ignored us but stayed close enough to hear us. When my daughter would laugh their tails would twitch as if laughing with her. We didn't take any of those deer, they were all young ones, but we had a good time together.
Fatherhood is extremely important in the native communities. A lot of natives grow/grew up in broken homes so that’s really cool you’re highlighting that moment with his kids in this video.
Devon, thank you for being a good man and father. I work in prison ministry and rehabilitation. So many of my "boys" never had a positive male role model. Thank you for changing the world one dance at a time.
Hi fellas, as an Australian I was surprised to see a sulphur-crested Cockatoo pop up. That shot gun safety first video was funny as was Devan attempting to hunt. Shout out to Devan for Stepping Up and being a hell of a great father and role model for his children. Being the warrior, the protector, the man should be important in all cultures but to have you inspire other Native fathers to carry their babies while they dance is epic. Thanks Patrick and Jacob.
You guys ROCK! I've been watching since your first broadcast, and it's amazing to see how far you've taken your show in just 18 episodes. Sadly, I am not a Native American, and haven't had the opportunity to visit the Rez, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate excellence when I see it! Please, KEEP IT GOING!
Hahahahhaha Madison hunting, smudge machine, and the cockatoo. I love this channel it is much needed for native humor relief 🙌🏾🙌🏾👏🏽👏🏽. THANK you all and thank you Devon for spreading and honoring fatherhood. Keetowah tribe living on and honoring Duwamish land since conception. #Seattle 🦅✊🏾

You and Patrick do bring happiness Jacob! I love watching you guys. It hard these days being in lockdown..worrying about everything. You help me through it. Both you and Patrick! I been binge watching patricisnavajo!🥰🥰
Much love from the UK! I’ve been practically binge watching your videos over the last couple of weeks while stressing over University work, and the gentle humour in these videos really make my day. Not only are these a wonderful insight into another culture, especially as one as rich as your own, but it’s also fantastic to watch. It’s gratifying to see the love you share for your people as a whole - boosting them with the ‘Natives doing cool and unique things’ section, your powerful inclusion of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women cause, your joy for your Dance... it’s just a really nice thing to see. Also, I know many men who could learn a thing or two from Devon’s approach to fatherhood! Keep going my dude - Ya’at’ééh Abíni from England! (Apologies for the accents if they’re in the wrong place - my Duolingo experience is on hold for exams :()
I really likes the short blurb on the Iimportance of Fatherhood. I would like to see a whole video on Fatherhood. It's really important now days. I raised my son for the past 24 years. He was Married last Saturday.
Thanks for your vids, guys, they crack me up. I'm a music teacher next door to the Shoshone/Arapaho res. I've been watching a lot of pow wow videos at work so I can teach my kids about Native music. Then I came across your channel. Goodbye planning time...
One of my favorite songs 🎵.. Fishing in the Dark. I come listen to you guys when I need a good laugh and to hear your laughter. Thank you for doing this channel.
I seem to wait too long between your releases. I really enjoy your content and having guests is a treat. Thanks for entertaining and educating me again.
I love how you said that more dads should step up and be involved with their kids. I also love how you represent Native Americans in a positive light. My husband and kids all are part Cherokee and hold their cards. I dated an Apache in college and he turned me on to PowWows. I love them. I too am part Cherokee but a whitey one. peace love and keep putting positive vibes out there
Great trend Devon....that is unique and so glad others are following through!! Wow! 23K subscribers?? I remember when you were at 2K before you met Natalie at the WNN fair.
12,000 views in 24 hours. I'm so happy for you both! And yes, I watch every episode. You've got me singing "Baby Yoda", cracking up days later after still thinking of memes you've shown. I love your show. I think in time you will have created something networks will want to bid over. And I loved watching Devan at the pow wow. How wonderful.
Aaah. Just got off of a 12 hour workday. Good to see our fellow Diné peeps keepin' us smilin'. Keep it up guys. I can't go home cuz of covid19. You guys make it easier to get thru this corn-teen.
I have known a few Natives through the years, but watching your videos made me realize that I have never met one that was a hero. It really makes me think.

Fathers dancing with their babies - most excellent!

It’s like in my home town Mexico , you will see native women with their toddlers strapped on theirs backs with rebosos.
@@rolac6109 Saw that in Mérida.
Is that safe for the baby? Could it cause an injury to the brain of a baby that is not developed yet?

I really likes the short blurb on the Iimportance of Fatherhood. I would like to see a whole video on Fatherhood. It's really important now days. I raised my son for the past 24 years. He was Married last Saturday.
Thanks for your vids, guys, they crack me up. I'm a music teacher next door to the Shoshone/Arapaho res. I've been watching a lot of pow wow videos at work so I can teach my kids about Native music. Then I came across your channel. Goodbye planning time...
You all are great! I am learning so much from your channel.. look forward to it everyday!
Very funny episode. Really liked Devin’s comment on fatherhood. I did similar things. Carrying my children, changing diapers, playing, reading etc.
Bringing your children in from the very beginning is how you keep your culture from being lost. Kudos!
Thank you guy's for another laugh. It's well needed . ✌️💖
Be safe ,great videos
One of my favorite songs 🎵.. Fishing in the Dark.
I come listen to you guys when I need a good laugh and to hear your laughter. Thank you for doing this channel.
You guys are doing a great job and devan you are doing awesome as a father and are an isperation to fathers of all nations !
I too am part Cherokee but a whitey one. peace love and keep putting positive vibes out there
& stay strong! Love & Respect! Thanks for all you do!
Love the content you guys post!!! It makes my day when a new video comes out!! ❤️❤️❤️
I have known a few Natives through the years, but watching your videos made me realize that I have never met one that was a hero. It really makes me think.
Made me laugh and gave me chills. Thank you for this one.
