I tried this, eating only the recommended serving sizes, and it was MUCH less than I normally ate, but I was never hungry, so eating only the recommended serving sizes became my overall lifestyle and I've been doing it for 4 months right about now 😭 the only time I don't eat the serving size is like if I'm cooking a recipe, and there needs to be a certain amount of something in my dish 💁♀️

You're NOT supposed to do that. Serving sizes aren't really for eating 1... remember the food pyramid? It has like 6-11 servings of grains on there... so you can eat more than one serving of cereal :P A "serving" is just dividing up the food to count it in those chunks, not really a recommendation to eat that amount of it. For meat the pyramid had 2-3 servings, so if Gloom wanted to spend the meat budget on wings she could go for as many as 6-9, and be within the old recommended guidelines (they have since dropped the food pyramid). If you took the low end for every category on the food pyramid, it would be 15 servings minimum in a day of food. She got through breakfast and lunch using just 5 (if we count the soy sauce... really shouldn't even). Just because a portion is a certain size doesn't mean you're only supposed to have one portion, portions exist only to make measuring what you're eating easier. Other people bust out the scale and do it by weight of carbs, fats, and proteins, which is more accurate but more obnoxious to track. It also helps with checking you're getting enough vitamins and minerals, as they're listed per portion. And for something like garlic, the portion size is driven more by how much someone would commonly use/that it divides into naturally, rather than by any sort of health guideline. One apple is a serving, one orange is a serving, one clove is a serving... get the picture? The serving size is driven by convenient measurement, not any sort of equality in calories, vitamins, minerals, or anything like that.

The recommended serving size for the chicken and rice is honestly me and my siblings "snack" before dinner so we don't waste so much food before we actually have a full meal. Also to not just eat snacks and be full by the time it's dinner. 🦋

So, the truth is the serving size is not the recommended serving, it’s just how the company decides to measure how many calories or grams of sugar in a serving.
