How is it that nearly 100 police vehicles, from various agencies, were able to jump in on this dramatic chase, yet not one single news crew was able to get even a minute of footage of the actual pursuit, stand-off, or shootout?
RIP to the officer. Glad they got him and put a definite end to criminal behavior and killing. But really all those officers standing around and traffic growing and growing. Hope there isn’t any other major crime that needs attention.
i passed these guys today on the 60 east i counted at least 75 police vehicles hauling 80-120mph i knew something bad happened we kept seeing police for 15 or so minutes. rip
Saddest part is that the law protected this criminal. Instead of getting jail time he was free to roam the streets and now look at this. Rest in peace Officer.

To have secured area in case it was a crime scene. Professionals understand that. One EMT showed up off duty and emanded I let him in on the scene. 3 police officers said for him to leave. It is a basic rule in trainig from the get beginning. What are all these cops going to do if another serious crime takes place in their Jurisditcion while they are on this one after this was secured? ? Then people would complain that one got away. Criminals don't take vacation . Some of them probably have scaners and know when to hit an area.

When somebody dies during a police incident, the investigation is extensive. They have to dot every "i" and cross every "t", because they KNOW every move will be scrutinized.

Imagine this scenario. The killer leaves the vehicle and the crime's arm after killing the officer. Another guy jumps in and finds the arm and touches it and then drives the car. Shortly afterwards he is immediately followed by hundred police cars. Out of fear he tries to escape and the police is just more convinced that it is him the killer. They hit his car and shoot him down before any explanations. You have now a killed suspect with fingerprints on the firearm used to kill the officer. The case is closed and the real killer is free roaming somewhere else ...I'm not saying this is what happened here but it is a probability that goes against killing without trialing the suspects !
