I must be a silly dude? I am using my solder iron to heat up the shrink tube. And in some cases I light up a candle and use that heat (sideways, to not burn anything). Both work very well and I did not buy any extra tools.

Can you recommend a good adhesive to use within the heat shrink tubing IF you do NOT have adhesive-lined/marine heat shrink tubing handy? Something that won't promote corrosion or damage to the wire or insulation?

Sorry mate, these things are junk! The cord is really short so you either need to extend it or use an extension cable, it struggles with anything bigger than small heatshrink and mine only lasted a few months before going bang and tripping the breaker.
I'm not even sure they would pass any electrical safety checks.
I'm now looking for another heat gun but something with a bit more quality. Unfortunately buy cheap and buy twice in this case is correct.

I was just trying to be funny.
I should have mentioned that I appreciated your video, and, based on it, purchased one of these for all my heat-shrinking needs.
