When the 101st was caught alone behind the lines and surrounded, The Allied Command basically said there was no way to save them. Patton basically said "Bullsh!^ Monty. Watch this!" He took his tanks, turned Left 90 degrees behind the allied lines, drove hellbent for leather then turned Right and busted through the German's Front Line. They saved the 101st.
My hubby was a medic in the AF. He's not much of a metal fan, generally speaking, with the exception of Sabaton. He loves them! He and I went to see Sabaton live in Los Angeles in 2019. It was an amazing show!
You really have to watch the Sabaton History episode about Screaming Eagles - Indys eagle-impression will give you ammuniton against the "chickens" to last you a lifetime. ;)
Cliffs of Gallipoli is great too :) always excited to see new channels finding Sabaton - especially ones that have a touch of history under their belts already.
loved the squawking chicken story :) As so many of their songs are about military regiments, platoons and encounters that i (as a swede) have no insight in I really appreciated that small tidbit about brotherly rivalry :)
I love a man who digs the music and has a little bit of understanding of the background of the songs, be it from the historical or the serving in the military standpoint. It gives it that extra level of respect we all love to see
If this is the battle I think it is, the 101 was sent in unprepared and underequipped - no winter gear - by I think Patton, to hold the area till reinforcements arrived to take the area.
I like the Sabaton weekend but since you like 82nd all the way i must mention Amarhantes cover of the song. They did the cover in preparation for a tour they did togheter with Sabaton. So you have amaranthe's version and there is also a live version with booth amaranthe and Sabaton togheter even though jocke just jumped in the end of that one.
Love Sabaton's video's. They look like movies my only criticism of this one is if that's suppose to be Bastogne there isn't nearly enough snow on the ground.
Brilliant… one of my favorites of their’s. 🙂 Great reaction! You should check out “The Last Stand” by them. It’s about the 189 Swiss Guards who defended the Pope during the sack of Rome in 1527. It’s excellent and another one of my favorite Sabaton tunes. 👍🏻
Those aircraft are C-47s. My grandfather flew one of those during WWII. Pretty sure he was one of those who were flying into Normandy after the landings.
I always get those 2 mixed up. They were just bringing the C17 into Pope Air force base as I was getting out of Division, so I never got a chance to jump one of those.
@@TouchyReactions my uncles dad was an advisor to the Vietnamese paratroopers during the Vietnam War so he's told me some stories of jumping from c-47s
Another great reaction! I´d recommend an older song by Sabaton, and there are hardly any reaction videos out there. "Into the fire" is their Song about the "police action" in south east asia from LZ X-Ray to the Embassy in Saigon
Honestly man I think a amazing song is, the price of a mile, i've noticed it's one you haven't checked out yet. Another one is attack of the dead men, hell I could keep going lol.
I thought so as well, but nope, it was made by military reenactors just for the video! That's why everything looks so accurate, these reenactment groups are all about accuracy.
Maybe Inmate 4859 from Sabaton (dark and sad story) and 40:1 (This song has Polish version, maybe one man reacted to this) but first listen English version to understand :)
@@TouchyReactions I would say that when it comes to Inmate 4859, the episode from Sabaton history is actually better than the song.. Not that the song is bad in any way, but that story is so sick you will just sit with your mouth open for the entire episode. And without spoiling it, I can say that it shows the entire range of what humanity is capable of. Both the best and the worst. It should be considered a crime that guy haven't had 57 movies made about him.. The Sabaton history videos are about 15 minutes long each where a historian (and a great storyteller) speaks about the subject for the most part and then one of the bandmembers join to speak a bit of the song itself or some correlating thing for a few minutes at the end. You can do it privately or as a reaction, it's definately worth it either way.

Reminds me of Rommel's Ghost Division, just charging straight through.
@@Madison-iw8ix Patton always raved about reading Rommel's book

yeah and the soldiers of the 101st said they didnt need rescuing
I’m currently a paratrooper in the 82nd, and can confirm the shit talking of the 101st 😂 great conversations
82nd and 101st are proud outfits
Keep at it, and soon enough you'll be Marines :)
Lol

That is awesome!

I have been thinking about going back and doing some deep dives on the earlier sabotage songs that I watched.
Sabaton and high production value go hand in hand. That and as much historical accuracy as possible
Word is there's a standing order among the 101st to never acknowledge they needed Patton to bail them out at Bastogne.
There was even a garand ping in that intro, beautiful :D
Thank You

Love the Bridge too Far reference. As a kid, I loved it because Gene Hackman played Polish Brig. Gen. Sosabowski.
Great Movie.
I have great respect for the 101st. Airborne. My great uncle, may he rest in peace, fought at Bastogne as a service member of the 101st.
they tend to work with living history groups and such when they do video's like this so those units have all the proper gear.

welcome to the Sabaton family!! Greetings from Germany
Hello there! And Thank You.
Another nice reaction. They never fail to catpivate with their videos, do they? Waiting for your 'Bismarck' reaction, love that song.
Yes, soon

I have watched both and they are amazing. Thanks.
Getting mad goosebumps
I think this might be my favorite sabaton song....
im biased too.. "Oh oh oh"
but if you want an emotional rollercoster... Five finger death puchs "wrong side of heaven"
Coming soon
Mayhap do Fields of Verdun in the future? Unless you've already done it of course, I haven't checked just yet lol
I love
Sabaton - Blood of Bannockburn
Sabaton - The last stans
Sabaton - En livstid i krig (live Göteborg)
Added to the list. Thanks.

I figured all the snow got blasted to smithereens by artillery.

I always mix up the C-17 and C47. I hope your grandfather made it out okay.
@@TouchyReactions Oh yeah, he survived though he did sadly pass away in 2011.
3:09 it's a c47 the c17 is the globe master from like the 80s and 90s if I remember correctly

you should react to some Five Finger Death Punch. Some notable (although emotional) songs are wrong side of heaven and gone away.
Bismarck and and old one : cliffs of Gallipoli
Bismarck will drop on the 11th. Gallipoli is on the list.
The music video for Primo Victoria has nothing to do with D-Day. It was a promo for World of Tanks. Primo Victoria was also their first major single.
That makes sense. The Video didn't quite match the song.
You need to watch ghost division. preferably the woodstock live version
Thanks I will. It is on my list.

There IS no "interservice rivalry", as it's clear which branch is the best :)
sabaton: art of war/40:1/ and ghost division
pretty sure the vid is scenes cribbed from Band of Brothers, so it very much goes hand in hand with the song.
That makes sense. Thanks

Easy Company 506 and 101st pir Screaming Eagles
You need to take a listen to Devil Dogs. The entrance of the Marines in WWI.
It drops on the 15th

Those who have watched BoB know what the 101st thinks about them needing "saving" lmao
Had to get the last dig on the Squawking Chickens.?
C-47
I always get those two mixed up in my head.
Squawking Chickens? 🤣
