I thought the characters were the weakest part, I didn’t get invested in any of them, but as far as a sci-fi film plopped on Netflix goes it wasn’t too bad. Great review,Rob

That's a great point, Zach! For me, I wasn't expecting much in the way of character development, so I wasn't disappointed. That, and I found Boutella, Huisman, Hunnam, and Skrein fun to watch, when they weren't getting bogged down in blah blah blah, if you know what I mean :-D

thanks for your review, Rob. Sounds like if you are going to rip off Lucas and Kurosawa, that's okay as long as you do it well and give us dialogue and characters that punch the card (see Godzilla Minus One for a recent example or Fury Road's mining of John Ford). Instead this one sounds like a standard trope collection where "things blow up really good". Meanwhile, regardless if it developed as a movie or TV project, if it doesn't work then it doesn't work.

And Sturges! Honestly, I thought this was the flick everyone should be comparing Rebel Moon too, not Star Wars. The line of descent is Seven Samurai, The Magnificent Seven (1960), and this ramble. Star Wars is more like a distant cousin.
