I knew it was bottom one xD rip my plans :D
What i understood over the years is as follows:
GPU need only so much air volume as it's fans can chew, throwing more air will do nothing.
GPU really need case fans to evacuate as much heated air as possible
Air cooled CPU can slightly benefit from high velocity air, because front intake fans are far away.
Otherwise air cooled CPU need same things from case flow as GPU does
Passively cooled components (VRM, nvme SSD's) need high velocity flow, not necessarily big volume.
End picture is: Case fans should produce enough air volume exchange, and the less restrictive case pannels just make it easier to do so. No reason to push more air than GPU/CPU cooler can make use of
Sums it up relatively well
Very helpful and enjoyable video!
Thank you for being so thorough and putting in all the work
Greetings from Vienna
Glad you liked our content!
I look after this case to upgrade my old CM Storm troper but after wath ai see hear this case are bad at cooling performance 😢😢.
I go with haf 700
Only negative is i can’t fit my coolermaster vertical mount gpu bracket v3 in the case 😂 otherwise top tier case! And no filter on the side intake I guess.
It doesn't fit? Why not?
I'm about to build a pc like this. The case is the same but in addition to having a 360mm radiator I have one more for the GPU with 260mm. I am having doubts where to install both. Should I put the CPU radiator at the front and the GPU radiator at the top or vice versa? Or the CPU radiator on top and the GPU on the side, taking advantage of the two existing fans on the front? suggestions are accepted. Nice video. 👌
Not sure if this is the place for this kind of suggestion, but if your going through everything about this case, maybe you can do a chapter on wiring the case. ;)
Every comment section is fine for that ^^
Usually, I do. Sometimes it's just a sentence as in "it is good enough to not talk about it".
But, this video is just a bit of testing, what you mean is more for the full review video: ua-cam.com/video/lC0o9mx-ru0/v-deo.html
Are you planning to try AIO at the side or front? I believe that you will have better CPU temps.
Side/Frond would intake cold air from outside to the AIO. Top brings hot air above the GPU to the AIO
Top, although you are right, I need to do that in order to test if the side intake has an impact
I found the RGB and fan controllers on the front panel very easy to change inadvertently, also the gpu support bracket very clunky and awkward. The problem for this case even with its big size there is too much either/or options when with this size case it should fit both. I have a 360 aio in top but going to try to side mount it with front fans fitted, looking to open loop but not sure things will fit.
Very easy? What you’re doing to make it possible? Are putting in / out a usb flash drive every 5 minutes? I have the same case never had any issues with front panel.
Have you tried side mount?
how big of a Radiator can you put on the side? Where would you install a Arttic 420mm?
Front, side is 360
@@STSYT thanks for the reply
You said that the bottom doesn't work when you add the 3rd fan....However there's a mount for a 4th fan there. The vertically mounted bottom front fan just blows air backwards. However the 4th fan is mounted horizontally and blows air up right towards that grill panel. You may not have noticed it as you have to remove the bottom 2 HDD cages...I'm curious as to what impact that fan will have.
I believe you missed something there, the 4th fan in the bottom is installed.
That whole segment is solely about that one horizontal fan 😅
@@STSYT ah, ok. I thought you were talking about the bottom door fan...too bad. I installed one down there and was wondering if I was wasting my $$...seems I did lol Too bad they didn't have it so you could attach the fan to the bottom of that grill cover. That would have pushed all the air through then.....
