Too Funny ! Compressor just thrown in back of unit so guy did not have to carry it off the Roof ! That’s a New one for me !!! I Never seen that before ! In 40 years doing this stuff ! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 That unit is Definately Done !!! Got to go ! It’s Beat down hard ! Hole in bottom of Unit , I’m surprised when it Rains water does not go into store. 😂 FYI you can repair condensers that have tube leaks , just take a torch and melt all the aluminum fins off and start picking out aluminum pieces. It’s messy , does not look pretty , but it can be done. Done it a few times in a Pinch. Aluminum has a melting point way lower than copper , so u don’t hurt the copper when blowtorching aluminum away. Great video ! So classic , Yea, Mall work is Very time consuming. Been there done that !
Good tips E! I always take a mental note of surrounding stores and have also peeked in the skylights to gain a reference point. Malls are a pain in the ass.
I do a mall that has a tension roof, it's like walking on a giant ass fkn trampoline. And not allowed to carry a SINGLE tool across it. They literally rent a helicopter crane to bring you your tool bag, to prevent tools dropping and puncturing the roof. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Videos are dope bro keep it up love watching ... i see u aint the only who has to do follow up after lazy work ... Gotta love it tho cant wait to see you grow with ur new company bro im happy for you
That is funny. One time this tech replaced a compressor At Bealls, then took the bad compressor and hid it behind another RTU. When he went to lunch I grabbed the compressor and took it back .
Crazy bro. I worked for Lennox NAS in the vegas branch but my branch manager was something else so I ended up leaving. Sucks cuz when I went down to Florida to get promoted I heard about other guys branches how cool their service managers were. Weve traveled to CA to help some branches out there with their PMs.
Did you guys mainly do Lennox units? Because I hate them. Easily the least HVAC tech friendly units out there. You must have a lot of tips for how deal with removing panels and doors without turning your hands into mutton.
Man , you need to call in Iron Resurrection or Texas Metal to build you a new floorboard for that unit ... Lol ...You mentioned Super Dave so that's worth 2 thumbs up ... Lol ... Good vid
It still amazes me how many “yuk-yuk” brothers there are out that do hack jobs like that. There needs to be a HVAC Gestapo agency that kicks these guys out of the business.
As my mentor always says: "Pay me now, or pay me later" because if you pay for a jack-leg to fix your unit cheap, you'll wind up paying for it down the road.
I get that it's annoying to lug a compressor down an extension ladder....but it's not THAT hard. jeez. that thing looks like it's ready to fall through into the duct.
@@davidknightaudio934 yeah, it is probably solid roof under the compressors. I think the only part open to the store is the supply and return part of the unit by the evap coil and blower. If it is duct under it, I don't know that it would be strong enough to catch a falling 200 pound compressor! I wouldn't feel safe walking under that part of the ceiling regardless because who knows how strong the roof is under that rot.
Just a friendly advice bro, if you not doing that already, charge diagnostic fee. It will cut down lot of cheap and time wasting calls. Keep it up brother.
That's one butchered unit lol, man I've seen some bad ones too, but that's just butchered. I can't believe people like that exist in this career, and how many of them exist. Nice find, good decisions man, keep it up
I really need to know. What is the training like for hvac? Is it a lot of in class stuff or more hands on stuff? I just gotta know and is there a lot of math implemented?
yea, there's math. mostly plugging in numbers for load calculation classes. you'll also do some math in regards to wiring things in series or in parallel. but it's not the bulk of the material. i'd say the classes are half physical and half text book. there's a lot of theory and procedure you gotta wrap your head around before they shove you off to the shop. some are better with hands, some are better at learning concepts. so the classes are designed so both types get what they need. i would say learning your wiring diagrams is a big big part of hvac. practice wiring components and switches until you have an gist of what's going on when you open up an unknown panel for the first time. the sequence of operations helps big time when diagnosing problems.
I got about 7 no cool calls in last 2 days.....Kind of crazy for April 2nd bro....If you have any questions on starting a company shoot me a call. SO many damn things ive bumped my head on since starting mine.
Probably a long shot but is there any sort of apprenticeship “earn while you learn” sort of program you know of that I could do while getting the HVAC education? I’m wanting to pick up a trade but getting the money for the education is tough.
Yes. Depending on where you live the steamfitters/pipefitters has apprentiship programs for comercial HVAC and so does the tinners union. Im a 5th year steamfitter service apprentice in Omaha Nebraska.
Bro, are you kidding, new unit, here in New York, the price to rig a new unit is sick. Streets need to be closed. There are units to high to rig, they are helicoptered in. So we would slap a new metal pan on the floor, rewire the control panel and fix the leak....and clean the evaporator and condenser and get the puppy up and running...
worst i'v seen is a walk in cooler 'converted' to be a walk in freezer. ran it for over a year....without mullion heaters. ......why? ....how? that poor door.
The best is when u open a rtu and see box fans taped n rigged where the cond fan motor used to be. Followed by an electrical cord hacked apart n taped together on a 120 leg.
Figuring out the puzzle someone left you. I love it. You better let me get a ride along if I’m ever out that way!

Que desproligidad dejaron los que estuvieron ahí anteriormente , saludos desde Uruguay de un ex técnico de Trane.

@@Niveous23 carriers, york's, trane's, lennox. Different businesses had different units.
Looking good brother, keep up the good work

Thanks big dog for the information. You're the bomb!!!
As my mentor always says: "Pay me now, or pay me later" because if you pay for a jack-leg to fix your unit cheap, you'll wind up paying for it down the road.
El enemigo did service on that unit lol they tucked a compressor back there with no way out. Looks like the stuff I work on too.
Wow I've seen some hacked up units and I've seen compressors on the roof but never inside! 🤣 they just pushed it back outta the way.
I get that it's annoying to lug a compressor down an extension ladder....but it's not THAT hard. jeez. that thing looks like it's ready to fall through into the duct.
Is that old compressor at risk of falling into the store with the floor of unit crumbling?
Too Funny ! That’s when you know your air conditioner is Done ! When the Compressors start falling into the Store !!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
yes it is i was thinking the same thing
it wont necessarily fall into the store but the air duct box \distributor in the store ceiling
also could fall into the ceiling and thru into the store but i dont think that part o
f the unit is sitting over open ceiling space

Yoooo, those wire nuts are a red flag right away and are you kidding me with that compressor 😂🤣 get that unit out of here!
Condenser header is common for leaking on those I've seen that oil spot before
If you work on those Trane’s you’ve probably seen 100s in that spot. I feel like every trane leak repair is there.
Happy aloha Friday my man 🤙🏾
When your at the mall get the map that they have there it helps a lot
That's roof looks familiar. Is it at southcost plaza ?
Very informative. Love the content brother!
What branch of Lennox are you with?

What's really crazy is I'll get two no cool calls, and then one no heat call. It's back n' forth right now.
@@Niveous23 yeah me too. But I live at 600' elevation. And I service up to one hour away which can be 6000'
Yoooo!!! Did the oil cause the rust probably!!?

What is the best gauge manifold to buy like what is the industry standard is it the testo??
My teacher said it is the testo
I’m in hvac school
Make a video of the new unit for that building
I have several Trans Voyager RTU’s here on the east coast of NC/SC and ALL of them are rusted out on the compressor floor/frame.
Hey brotha I work for reddyice right now and we deal with those hoshizaki ice makers any tips you can give me on them?
Is that the Modesto mall? Lol
For 19.99 you an get some flex seal and if you order now you can get a 2 nd can and you can also get an air fryer with separate S&H 😂
😂 🤣😂🤣
Lmao! That compressor.
Looks like that unit has been worked on by different companies
Early squad!
No cap
Please, I'm a follower of yours, could you put subtitles in Spanish for Latinos
Never seen someone leave a compressors in the unit that unit been hacked damn didn’t get the the whole she’s done.
Saludos Carnal from. SAN JO
It is a lot of work . But it is fixable .
you need a fork for all that spegatti
💪🏼
Get it Ernesito
10TR is a big system? 😂 Just giving you strife. Keep up the good work.
Damn I hate when people hack the crap out of everything
👍
I have never seen someone be so lazy to leave an old compressor in a functional.unit
How do people live with themselves charging for that level of laziness and incompetency?
Can be your worker
Just walk away don't even look at it . Don't try to be hero on this unit bro. Like you said who knows what the last guy did or didn't do.
The heroic thing is to put it outta it's misery.
Abort mission or sell him a new unit
Nice 📹.!.looks like a complete mess
En loco as videos en español
Dam someone butcher up the system good 😌
I’ve actually seen worse
