Wonderful package for a proper classic movie! So many memories of family gatherings at Christmas around the TV and having so much fun and enjoyment watching this! You're so right Keith, what a great time to be a collector! It's been a terrific year! And still so much to come before years end! Great review as usual!
I was just like yourself when it comes to watching this movie at Christmas. Even if we weren't watching it it would always be on in the background. Even today nothing has changed. It's great to own such a beautiful release of it. But yes there is a lot more coming and I honestly cannot wait. Thank you as always Alan for taking the time to stop by
I am just like yourself. Every single Christmas it would be on almost on repeat. Even if you weren't watching it you could hear it in the background. I really do hope you buy the edition yourself. I think you'll be massively impressed when you get it in your hands. Thank you so much for stopping by
It's a very nice set Keith. You're absolutely right, The Wizard Of Oz looks stunning in 4k with the HDR. I may get this set myself in the new year if I can get it a bit cheaper. I know you like it but I was slightly underwhelmed by the steelbook design. Got a lot of stuff coming myself over the next month or so, not all box sets, had to pick and choose with Christmas nearly upon us. Take care both of you. Gaz.
Hey Gary. Like I said in the video this is not a numbered Edition and chances are it'll be around for another while. Whether it will drop down in price I honestly don't know. As for the Steelbook yeah I couldn't be happier with it. I think there is improvements they could make to it. Maybe a high gloss finish would have added so much. But all in all I am absolutely ecstatic with the set. Thank you as always for stopping by
I got the 80th Anniversary pop-up deluxe boxset in 4k (which I prefer to this boxset) when that came out. I believe it's the same transfer, which, I can't complain about, because, as you said, it is amazing in picture and sound quality. Still, both sets do this film justice for its age. I'm now looking forward to seeing what's been done to Labyrinth & Dark Crystal 4k deluxe box sets, which I've pre-ordered for later this month.
I really need to check out that 80th anniversary edition because I do not remember seeing it. Yes you're absolutely spot on it will be the same 4k transfer. Well I'm presuming it is. I am half tempted on the Labyrinth release. I wasn't a big fan of Dark Crystal so I won't be going near that. Both look amazing though
I’m amazed at how this film looks, every time I watch this film (at least once a year). I’m happy with my 4K Amaray version, but congratulations on receiving your expanded version. 👍♥️
Yeah it's an absolutely stunning 4K transfer. I think Warner Brothers got everything they could possibly get out of it. Thank you as always Stephen for stopping by
I still can't get over how Warner Brothers managed to get this movie looking as good as it does. I think you'll be impressed Marty. Thank you as always for stopping by
Just had the sword and the sorcerer collector's set on 101 films. And godzilla 4k criterion first classic movie with blakes 7 series one first time on blueray in the UK 🇬🇧 in post on the way
Now this is what you call a classic, Keith. Every Christmas as a kid this would be on and we would all watch it. Great memories of this film as I am sure was the same for many of us. This is a beautiful edition, Keith and a must for all movie lovers. The steel book looks amazing. I watched a series on cursed movies and Margaret Hamilton who played the witch, was badly burnt on the set from the pyrotechnics and was off for a few weeks. I look forward to North by Northwest. I love that one.
Yeah I absolutely agree with you when it comes to this movie and Christmas. Every Christmas you'll always come across it. It's almost part of my Christmas tradition at this point. It's great to own such a stunning release as well. I didn't realise this movie was part of the cursed movies. I really need to check out that episode. It sounds very interesting. Thank you as always Gary for taking the time to stop by. I always appreciate the support my friend
@@millerman9991 Yes Keith, if you get a chance I recommend it. We all know about the debunking of one of the munchkins hanging himself on set and it turned out to be one of the birds in the background well there is a guy who owns a very early version of the film and it shows that it was a munchkin hanging himself. Apparently Hollywood tried to cover it up by patching it up with a bird. Believe what you will but it makes you think.
I'm not going to lie Gary I didn't realise this movie had a history. This is definitely the first I'm hearing about it and it's probably why I'm going to try and get my hands on that episode. It's hard to believe such an Innocent movie could have such problems.
It's not a go-to film for me (i thought it was merely ok), but that set, I must admit, looks rather lovely. Not one I'd go for myself, but I'm glad you got a copy. Great stuff, Keith. Cheers.
I completely understand that Mike. For me this movie was part of my childhood particularly at Christmas. Great to own such a beautiful release for it. Thank you so much for checking it out
Hi Keith!!! I'd love to see it on WB 4K!!! Gone with the Wind (1939) The Big Sleep (1946) The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948) Strangers on a Train (1951) Dial M for Murder (1954) Ben-Hur (1959) The Nun's Story (1959) Doctor Zhivago (1965) Wait Until Dark (1967) Barry Lyndon (1975) Eyes Wide Shut (1999)
Yeah I've seen the 3D version myself and it was impressive no question about it. But in terms of picture quality the 4K release wins It hands down. Just on the colours alone. But if you're happy with the 3D version stick with it.
The artwork sells it for me. I do wish a flying monkey was there. I couldn't care less about any of those extras. I already have the poppy field 4K steelbook & a blu-ray steel, so it's really hard to justify buying it. Honestly, if they'd went with any other character on the cover, I wouldn't be about to buy it. I just had a thought. How cool would it have been to have the witch on the slipbox cover & Glinda on the steel book, the steel being pink & the disc holder artwork as her bubble!? 😎
That's actually a great idea that you came up with. It would have been great to see it. Having said that I don't have any issues with the release myself. I think there is improvements that they could have made to the Steelbook itself. Maybe giving it a high gloss finish. But other than that I am very content with what I got. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and share your thoughts on it. Really appreciate it
Great video as always Keith 👍 my copy has been delivered to my mum's (along with The Third Man 4K box) so will pick it up at the weekend, can't wait as it looks fantastic, thanks for unboxing this for us Keith 👍
Hey John. I am not one bit surprised to hear that you picked it up yourself. It's an absolutely stunning Edition and I know you're going to be impressed when you see it for yourself. Thank you once again my friend for stopping by

Hey Keith, on a mini vacation in Chicago, but definitely taking time out for your channel. definitely one of my favorites growing up. This was always on around Christmas and Willy Wonka was always around Thanksgiving great movies to set the holiday season. talk about perfect casting the woman who plays the witch. Incredible scared the crap out of me when I was little and I’m sure you’ve seen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang that child catcher guy scared the crap out of me as well. Sometimes I wonder that they didn’t realize how really scary this characters were. have a great one as always.👍
I'm just like yourself John. This movie was almost on repeat during Christmas when I was younger. Even if you weren't watching it it would be on in the background. It's just one of those movies. Willy Wonka was another Christmas favourite of mine back in the day. Very similar to Wizard. But thank you once again John for taking the time to stop by even though you're on vacation. I really hope you have a great time my friend
All I can think about is my late dad and his fear of witches, which he passed down to me! Haha. 😂 You seem to be very pleased with the release. And, at the end of the day, thats what matters. ☺️
I think everybody had that fear when it came to do witch in this movie. As a matter of fact I'm almost certain she featured in the top 100 scariest characters in cinema history. I don't think they realised how scary they actually made her
Hiyi Keith I got my copy at 4pm delivery this afternoon by Amazon to my front door plus Inside my Amazon box I got in a Warner Brothers Collector’s Box

I can't really talk about Ian because I don't want to ruin the movie for you. I'll be expecting a text from you when you have seen it. There is one scene in particular
I only bought the 4k steelbook. I have the double 70th year blu ray collectors edition. It sad to say but there were more extras, books art cards and so on then on this release. I suppose the extra bonus disc from that set is not in this 4k set because its only 1 4k and 1 blu ray..

Hi Keith great review. I already have the limited edition emerald box version of this classic so won’t need to pick this one up. I’m slightly disappointed I didn’t hold on because this steel is fantastic Hope you are well my friend, I mentioned a long time ago back when you got your Sony Oled that if I ever gotten around to be lucky enough to get my hands on one myself that I might have to reach out to you and pick your brains as to what picture settings you recommend for both Blu-rays and 4K’s. I received my Sony A8OL today and we just watched the movie 65 with Adam Driver on 4K I’d never seen it before and we were absolutely blown away by the colours and contrast on this set. I know that you have had yours for sometime now and I remember you saying you’ve tweaked it several times to come up with the best settings. I’m feel slightly overwhelmed looking at all the different options. Should I use cinema mode or it is best to use custom which I’ve heard people say? Any good advice you could share would be massively appreciated my friend. All the best Steve.
First off Stephen great to hear that you got yourself a brand new Sony TV. I have to admit 65 was a great movie to check out on that television. It is absolutely breathtaking and not only that but I actually enjoyed that movie. Not sure why it got the hatred that it got. It's very hard to explain to you Stephen what I use when it comes to my settings because I have three different settings. One for Blu-rays and the other two is HDR and Dolby Vision. You mentioned custom and cinema mode. What I actually use is a feature that you won't have on your TV until you install it. It's called custom for Pro. If you type that in to Google you should be able to find out all the information that you need to install it on your TV. My best advice to you Stephen is to mess around with it for a while until you find a setting that best suits you. I ended up getting mine professionally calibrated in the end. It can be so overwhelming but trust me you will get used to it
@ hey Keith thanks so much for getting back so quickly! I really appreciate your time my friend. Thankyou I will have a look and Google that and do a bit of digging and see if that helps. My player is quite old and doesn’t support Dolby vision (hoping to upgrade one day) so currently I’m only getting an HDR signal when watching 4k but I’m super impressed with the quality it displays on this Oled. You inspired me to save and save and today became a dream come true. Cheers Keith thanks again my friend
@stephentaylor7249 I can imagine the excitement that you are going through at the moment. The good thing is Dolby vision is waiting for you in the future. HDR does more than enough. But do like I said Stephen go online check out some calibration tips and I guarantee you in time it will slowly grow on you. But as of right now enjoy it my friend. Start going through some greatest hits. It will feel like you're watching them for the first time
Yeah I completely understand that it's not for everybody. I still haven't gotten around to picking up the Steelbooks for Deadpool and Wolverine. Really need to get around to that
Hi Keith,,, Good video,,,,,👍,,. Films not for me,,,, But i understand, its popularity,,, Yeah i got blazing saddles ,, 50th anniversary,, boxset on pre order,, Cant wait for that,,,, But i really can't understand, why young frankenstein,,, 50th anniversary,, boxset, is not being released,, i see no sign of that,,,, And thats one of my favourite comedy horrors ever,,
I completely understand that Lee. This movie is not for everybody. As for the Blazing Saddles release great to hear that you have it pre-ordered yourself. I really hope Warner Brothers deliver on that 4K transfer. You're not going to believe me when I say this but I have not seen young Frankenstein. I was meant to get around to watching it but I never did. I was very tempted to pick up that Steelbook edition that came out on Blu-ray. I still might. Thank you once again for stopping by
@millerman9991 Keith,, Young frankenstein,, Is brilliant,, Well I think so,, Mel Brooks,, film,, one of his best ,, It's so funny, ,, It's probably my favourite comedy horror, ,,,,, I'm Really hoping for 50th anniversary, ,edition, , But see no sign of it,,, Can't understand, , As its same year as blazing saddles, , And made by same director, ,,,,
@lee-the-artist-1392 yeah I was aware that Mel Brooks directed it but I didn't realise it was the same year as Blazing Saddles. The sad thing about it Lee is if it didn't happen on its 50th anniversary chances are it's not going to happen anytime soon. I really hope I'm wrong when I say that for your sake. You never know maybe they'll wait and see how Blazing Saddles does and if it does well they might consider it.
Gotta be honest, I really don’t like this film. It’s one of those “classics” people DEMAND that you like. I didn’t watch it all the way through until I was 13, and it really didn’t live up to the hype.
I completely understand that. It's definitely not for everybody. This movie was a staple in my life. You could never make it past Christmas and not see it on the TV. It's great to own such a lovely release of it. But thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and check it out even though you're not the biggest fan. I really appreciate it

It will feel like you're watching them for the first time
@@millerman9991you are so correct Keith. I can see me being up all night tonight 😂👍🏻thanks buddy
Trust me I have been in your shoes. As a matter of fact I'm still going through it. The novelty hasn't worn off
Not the greatest movie ever but picked this up & the two deadpool & wolverine variant steelbooks they look unreal in person
Yeah I completely understand that it's not for everybody. I still haven't gotten around to picking up the Steelbooks for Deadpool and Wolverine. Really need to get around to that
Literally same disc as the 2019 version
I wasn't expecting it to be anyway different. Thankfully I never bought the 2019 version
Hi Keith,,,
Good video,,,,,👍,,.
Films not for me,,,,
But i understand, its popularity,,,
Yeah i got blazing saddles ,,
50th anniversary,, boxset on pre order,,
Cant wait for that,,,,
But i really can't understand, why young frankenstein,,,
50th anniversary,, boxset, is not being released,, i see no sign of that,,,,
And thats one of my favourite comedy horrors ever,,
I completely understand that Lee.
Thank you once again for stopping by
@millerman9991
Keith,,
Young frankenstein,,
Is brilliant,,
Well I think so,,
Mel Brooks,, film,, one of his best ,,
It's so funny, ,,
It's probably my favourite comedy horror, ,,,,,
I'm
Really hoping for 50th anniversary, ,edition, ,
But see no sign of it,,,
Can't understand, ,
As its same year as blazing saddles, ,
And made by same director, ,,,,
@lee-the-artist-1392 yeah I was aware that Mel Brooks directed it but I didn't realise it was the same year as Blazing Saddles. The sad thing about it Lee is if it didn't happen on its 50th anniversary chances are it's not going to happen anytime soon. I really hope I'm wrong when I say that for your sake. You never know maybe they'll wait and see how Blazing Saddles does and if it does well they might consider it.
@@millerman9991it would be wonderful if that did happen,,,
🙏🙏
Fingers crossed my friend
Very old movie 🙂
Absolutely Igor. Thank you for stopping by
Gotta be honest, I really don’t like this film.
I really appreciate it
@ I get why people love it, it’s just not for me.
@@The_Big_Blue_Bug_of_Justicecompletely understand
Without a doubt one of the top 50 greatest movies of all time. Stunning for it’s time
I couldn't agree more Jeffrey.
